Belated Report: Seven Falun Dafa Practitioners in Hebei Province and Beijing Died in the Persecution

Ms. Hao Fengru from Sanhe City, Hebei Province was 55 years old when she died. She had severe heart disease, suffered a heart attack in 1994, and could not live without taking medicine. Ever since she practiced Falun Dafa, she became healthy and open-minded, and was able to do many household chores.

On July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal, and clarified the truth to people around her by studying the Fa and doing the exercises. She went to Beijing in May 2000 again to validate the Fa, was arrested, and detained 20 days in her hometown Detention Center. Police used electric batons to shock her sensitive places, slapped her face, and deprived her of visitation rights during her detention period. She and her fellow practitioners who were also detained went on a hunger strike to protest.

Upon being released back home, she kept her faith, and went to Beijing again in July 2000. Police arrested her again, forced her family to write a "guarantee" statement for her, and paid a guarantee fee before allowing them to visit her.

During these years, her family was very afraid of government persecution, and they refused to allow her friends or Falun Dafa practitioners visit her. They would also not allow her to practice the exercises. Whoever visited her would be beaten or cursed by her family. Especially after she appeared to be ill and had to be hospitalized, her family watched her 24 hours a day and blocked any contact with others. She did not have Falun Dafa books to read or contact with fellow practitioners.

Under this huge mental pressure, Ms. Hao Fengru did not have a normal cultivation environment. Dragged down by this for more than a year, she died in July 2002.

Mr. Chen Fengliang was in his 40's, an employee of the Labor Ministry of Dachang Muslin Autonomous County, Hebei Province. He used to have severe kidney disease and could not work, but fully recovered after practicing Falun Gong at the end of 1998. He was detained for more than two months starting in August 2000, because he had passed out truth-clarifying materials. He was sentenced to three years of forced labor, but was rejected by the labor camp due to his high blood pressure. Police extorted eight thousand yuan from his family before releasing him. In September 2001, he and his wife were both abducted and sent to a brainwashing class in Daying, Tong County. After that, his old diseases came back. In April 2003, his employer and the local 610 Office tried to abduct him again to another brainwashing class, but they failed. He was sent to a hospital on the same night, and died twenty days later in the hospital.

Ms. Zhou Shuying was 63 years old and lived in Qianchengxiang Village, Dachang Muslin Autonomous County, Hebei Province. She had arthritis, glaucoma, rheumatic heart disease, and rheumatic spine inflammation from a young age, and was never able to work. She started cultivating Falun Dafa in January 1998, and all of her illnesses were eliminated. She tried to hold to her faith after July 20, 1999, but was repeatedly harassed by the local police. She was forced to accept brainwashing in November 2001, which damaged her both mentally and physically. Her old sicknesses came back, and she died about 6 p.m. on December 23, 2004.

Ms. Zhang Shuhua was 68 years old, and was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Yi County, Hebei Province. She obtained the Fa in 1996, and from then on all her illnesses disappeared. After July 20, because her family members were arrested, she was threatened, and harassed. Her old diseases came back, and she died on August 20, 1999.

Mr. Zhao Fenglin, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Yi County, Hebei Province, was 66 years old. When the persecution of Falun Dafa began on July 20, 1999, the Township government repeatedly harassed him at his home and forced him to write guarantee statements to stop cultivating. He died the next day.

Ms. Li Ruiqin was 71 years old, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Yi County, Hebei Province. All the illnesses that had lasted more than 30 years disappeared after she began practicing Falun Dafa. She always told others that it was Falun Dafa that saved her life. After July 20, 1999, the authorities threatened her and harassed her numerous times, extorted money from her many times as well, which hurt her deeply both mentally and physically. She died on October 24, 2004.

Mr. Sun Jinchang was 68 years old and lived in Zhangshanying Village, Zhangshan County, Yanqing County, Beijing City. He started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. He used to have illnesses all over his body, could not move, and was in extreme pain. After practicing Falun Dafa , he fully recovered and could perform physical labor. The authorities forced him to sign a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong after the persecution started. He fell ill again and could not get out of bed. Even while he was in this condition, the local authorities still harassed him and threatened him at his home, making his condition worse. He died in July 2002.
