Mr. Song Xu, 31 years old, is a practitioner from Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, he has been arrested several times for going to Beijing to appeal peacefully for Falun Gong. In November 2002, Mr. Song was again arrested and secretly sentenced, this time to 11 years in prison. Since the day when Mr. Song was arrested, he has been on a hunger strike to protest his illegal arrest and confinement. Below is the latest information we could get about Mr. Song.

According to Mr. Song's father, when he talked to his son in jail, Mr. Song told him: "If one day the authorities say that I committed suicide or jumped from a building, you should know that it is definitely not true." At that moment, the prison guard who was monitoring their conversation intervened and told them (over the speaker): "Why are you talking about this?" The prison guard tried to stop Mr. Song from talking further. In spite of this, Mr. Song continued: "Now the Public Security Bureau is trying to investigate who posted the article I wrote on the Internet." He told his father: "No matter who they ask, you just tell them you don't know."

Mr. Song's father believes that the authorities were doing very vicious things in the prison. Otherwise his son would not have brought this up. In January 2005 Mr. Song was suddenly transferred from Team Nine to Team One. The details are under investigation.

On January 23, 2005, the local police substation arrested Ms. Yang Qiaoli, a family member of a coalmine worker in Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province. Her home was also ransacked. Her husband, Mr. Yu Xiaohong, and her father-in-law (both non-practitioners) were also arbitrarily arrested. Her father-in-law and her husband have been released and are believed to be at home. After they were released, her mother-in-law died suddenly from the emotional stress resulting from their arrest. At home, Ms. Yang's one-year-old child has no mother to take care of him. The police also ransacked Mr. Yu Xiaohong's three sisters' homes.

On March 4, 2004, someone reported Mr. Su Jun from Qingdao City to the police for destroying government banners that defamed Falun Dafa on Zhenjiang Road. The police arrested him while he was still destroying them. They also ransacked his home and confiscated his computer and printer.

The police arrested Mr. Su on March 15, 2004, and sent him to the City brainwashing center. On August 26, after 160 days of torture, Mr. Su was transferred. He is currently jailed at the Dashan Detention Center. On January 20, 2005, Su Jun was put on trial in secret. His family didn't receive any notice of the trial. On February 3 the court sentenced Su Jun to three and a half years in prison.

Ms. Li Shuyong, 54 years old, resides in Building 11, Courtyard 5, Shaoyaoju, Taiyanggong, Chaoyang, Beijing City. At the end of January 2005, she was reported to the police for clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa. She was arrested and taken to the police substation.

On February 2, 2005, Zhang Xueying, the Neighborhood Office Secretary of the Zhongli Residential Area, Xibahe, Xiangheyuan asked Ms. Wang Guilan to visit the office, claiming that there were some matters to discuss. The secretary actually deceived her, since the Neighborhood Office and the police planned to arrest her secretly. Her home was also ransacked. Ms. Wang's current whereabouts are unknown.

On the evening on February 12, 2005, Ms. Zhai Fengju and Ms. Lu Yuhui were handing out truth-clarifying materials. They were seen by the village political employees of the Longhua Village, who reported them to the police substation. The police arrested the two practitioners. At 12:00 p.m. that same night, their homes were ransacked. The police sent Ms. Zhai and Ms. Lu to the National Security Team of Dingxing County. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

The 610 Office of the Zhenjiang Temple Neighborhood Office arrested Ms. Liang Qunying, Ms. Xiao Fengqiong and Ms. Zhang Yufen from Suining City, Sichuan Province, on Zhongsheng Street in Suining City when they were clarifying the truth about the persecution. Later, they were sent to the Zhenjiang Police Substation, in the Chuanshan District, Suining City. Ms. Zhang was jailed at the Hengshan Police Substation, Anju District, Suining City. She was released, but only after the police extorted 5,000 yuan in cash from her family. Ms. Liang and Ms. Xiao are still in jail.

Ms. Zhao Tingyun from Xinxiang City, Henan Province was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials in her hometown of Langgongmiao Village on the first day of the Chinese New Year (February 9, 2005). She was arrested together with her husband and son, who were accompanying her to her hometown. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer and Dafa books. Her husband and son were later released. Ms. Zhao Tingyun is still in jail.
