National Security Bureau of Anshun City, Guizhou Province Detains Five Dafa Practitioners from the Liyang Company

(Clearwisdom.net) On the night of September 29, 2004, The National Security Bureau of Anshun City, Guizhou Province, utilized significant resources to detain and persecute Dafa practitioners, causing great pain and suffering to both the practitioners and their family members. The National Security Bureau of Anshun City arrested five Dafa practitioners and searched their homes. These practitioners are from the Liyang Company of Pingba County, Guizhou Province. Personnel from The National Security Bureau of Anshun City have been detaining and sending Dafa practitioners to brainwashing classes since November 5, 2004. It was reported that court materials were sent to the Anshun local court, and the Public Security Bureau is still investigating.

The following five practitioners were arrested and had their homes searched:

Ms. Qi Jiaqin, about 47, is a retired employee of the. Ansun National Security Bureau arrested her on September 29, 2004 at a relative's home and brought her back to her employer. They searched her home and confiscated materials. It is still unclear what was confiscated. Ms. Qi is now detained at Anshun No. 2 Detention Center.

Mr. Liu Shukang, about 56, is also a retired employee from the Liyang Mechanical Factory. The National Security Bureau arrested him on the night of September 29, 2004. The police searched his home and confiscated three copy machines, several MP3 players and other Dafa materials. The National Security Bureau also took their bank deposit book and deposit receipts (amounting to more than 12,0000 yuan). Mr. Liu is now detained at the Anshun No. 2 Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Yan, about 38, works as a clerk in the Department of Product Quality of Liyang Company. She was arrested on the same night as Mr. Liu. The National Security Bureau of Anshun City confiscated her computer and some Dafa materials, and her bank deposit book and deposit receipts were also taken. Ms. Zhang is now detained at the Anshun No. 1 Detention Center. Her daughter attends a secondary school outside her hometown.

Ms. Tang Ling, around 30, is self-employed as an individual proprietor. The National Security Bureau of Anshun City arrested her on the night of September 29, 2004 and released her the next day under house arrest. On October 26, 2004, The National Security Bureau of Anshun City again searched her store and confiscated several Dafa books and materials. They confiscated all her bank deposit books and deposit receipts (amounting to more than 30,000 yuan). Ms. Tang is now detained at Zhenning County Detention Center of Anshun City. Her son attends a local kindergarten.

Mr. Yao Junjing, about 43, is a chief designer at Liyang Aircraft Engine Design Institute (Dr. Yao is a Ph. D. graduate from The Northwestern Polytechnic University in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, and is an expert in aircraft engine design). The National Security Bureau of Anshun City arrested and ransacked his home on October 14, 2004. He is now detained at the Anshun No. 1 Detention Center. His daughter attends Liyang High School.
