By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) In the center of our town, there is a city square. It is a very busy place. During the day people come and go, and at night this square is bustling with people chatting and dancing. Every Sunday night after 7:00 p.m., ten to twenty Dafa practitioners meet there, gathering on the south side of the square. They gather in several small groups. They stand, sit, walk here and there, chat and share. The atmosphere is vibrant yet peaceful.

Beginning in October 2000, they met there every Sunday night. This continued for four years. Here Dafa practitioners inspired each other, helped each other, supported each other, and encouraged each other to form a field of righteous thoughts in public. This field encouraged more and more Dafa practitioners to step forward. Some Dafa practitioners from nearby cities also came to the square to share experiences.

Master has told us that the cultivation environment is created by Dafa practitioners. During October 2000, several practitioners from this county talked about looking for a permanent, suitable place for practitioners to get together and share experiences. Thereafter, some of the Dafa practitioners thought of the town square. Once the idea was suggested, the rest of the Dafa practitioners agreed because: 1. Dafa practitioners have the same right as anyone else to enjoy their leisure time in this town square. 2. Dafa practitioners practice truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance, and are good people who are dignified and righteous. We are Fa rectification Dafa practitioners and it is not necessary to hide away or to separate ourselves from the public. 3. With teacher here, and the Fa here, as long as everyone's righteous thoughts are strong, the evil will have no loopholes to exploit. But for safety reasons, it was decided not to bring any written materials.

Even though we all had the same understandings, it was still not that easy for some practitioners to take their first steps onto the square. At the time we began meeting, some Dafa practitioners were often monitored by plain-clothes police, and some were even followed and photographed. At night, police staked out and monitored some practitioners' homes. In the beginning, there were only three or four practitioners who went to the town square. Even so, this caused alarm to practitioners' workplaces and the institutions. Plain-clothes police, 610 Office personnel, the heads of workplaces, and the heads of the residents' committees all stayed close by and closely monitored practitioners' movements. At one side of the town square a police car parked within ten meters of the practitioners. However the practitioners were composed and fearless:

"...just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations." (Essentials for Further Advancement II)

Every Sunday night the practitioners met there as usual, and their example encouraged more and more Dafa practitioners to meet there. At first, there was three or four people, and then it grew to ten to twenty people. Each new person stepping forward brought positive energy to the town square.

This field of righteous thought provided a wonderful environment and a convenient place for Dafa practitioners to step forward, and it greatly shocked the evil. Gradually, after a period of time, the plain clothes police disappeared, the security from practitioners' workplaces, and the heads of the residents' committee left as well. Soon police cars no longer came. Only the 610 Office personnel still watched, and they installed a video camera on a nearby building.

Some practitioners were scared and did not dare to come out. But some practitioners were steadfast, and by their influence those who did not dare to come out finally eliminated their fear and came to the town square. At that point the 610 Office personnel lost interest. They removed the camera and no longer watched. Just like Master said:

"Indestructible righteous faith in the cosmos's Truth forms benevolent Dafa disciples' rock-solid, Diamond-Like Bodies, it frightens all evil, and the light of Truth it emanates makes the unrighteous elements in all beings' thoughts disintegrate. However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is. Dafa disciples are truly stepping forward out of ordinary humanness." ("Also in a Few Words")

Every time we sent forth righteous thoughts at 8:00 p.m. (without the hand gesture), the practitioners whose their third eyes are opened see in the sky above the town square the words, "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the evil is completely eliminated." "The Fa rectifies heaven and earth, immediate retribution in this lifetime." The eight large Chinese characters are golden and shining. Imaginably, in other dimensions a large quantity of evil is being eliminated.

The methods we used in our area appeared very effective:

1. Encouraging more and more Dafa practitioners to step out from their homes.
2. Providing an environment for exchange of information and experiences. It is helpful for us to upgrade together, and improve as one body. It is also beneficial to communicate and connect with each other.
3. The stores, restaurants, and cafés owned by Dafa practitioners were able to become small fields of righteous thoughts for exchanging experiences, strengthening discussions, contact and communication. It is now more convenient to clarify the truth effectively to everyday people.

Certainly, in different areas, the local situation and Fa ratification status are all different, so conditions cannot be regarded as the same for everyone. Especially since the evil's persecution has not completely ended, plans for safety and security are always necessary. The concern for this absolutely cannot be ignored or taken for granted. One slightly different thought could bring a different result. If other areas were to try to imitate us, it may not work, for the surface format may not be applicable everywhere. Even though this area had success, another area might have a totally different result. However, if all of us have righteous thoughts and strong wills, the environment will improve. Hence, validating the Fa has many different forms, yet they all have the function of eradicating evil and clarifying the truth.
