Firm Belief in Teacher and Falun Dafa Is Fundamental to the Cultivation of Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa created everything. Firm belief in Teacher and Falun Dafa is fundamental to cultivation. Cultivation is serious and it requires us to eliminate human attachments using righteous thoughts. Teacher said,

"Cultivation practice is extremely arduous and very serious. If you are being careless for a moment, you may stumble and become ruined at once. Therefore, one's mind must be right." (Zhuan Falun)

The old forces have made detailed arrangements for everything pertaining to Dafa practitioners, including each thought and idea that we have. If we are just a little bit careless, the dark minions and rotten demons will exploit our loopholes and persecute us. Therefore, we need to melt every thought of ours into Dafa at all times and in whatever we do.

I began practicing Falun Gong in 1995. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, I started to validate Dafa, clarify the truth, and immerse myself in Fa-rectification cultivation. Looking back over these past five years, I feel I staggered along and merely did a few of the things I was supposed to do while under Master Li's benevolent protection. However, amidst it all, my righteous enlightenment and faith in Falun Dafa and Master Li was tempered.

One day in January 2001, my husband and I went to a village to attend a wedding ceremony. I thought this was a good opportunity to clarify the truth to people. However, as soon as we stepped out of the vehicle, I saw a village official requesting a practitioner to fill out a form. I started to clarify the truth to him. After a while the official asked me: "Are you also practicing Falun Gong?" I replied that I was and several people quickly surrounded me, searched me and took away several hundred copies of Teacher's articles and truth-clarifying materials. They illegally detained me in the local police station, and later sent me to the County Detention Center. During this period, I constantly clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong, yet they still ransacked my home and levied fines. At that time I did not know about sending righteous thoughts, but my heart remained unmoved. I always refused to cooperate with their requests and refused to tell them where the materials came from. Due to my firm and righteous actions, I was released.

I work in a hospital where the staff members and patients comprise more than 100 people. Besides clarifying the truth to co-workers, I always clarify the truth and distribute truth clarification materials to any patient visiting the pharmacy to pick up medicine. Everyone in the hospital knows I practice Falun Gong and witnessed the changes I experienced since practicing. My selfless contribution at work received praise from hospital officials and colleagues. Later, I was reported to the authorities and arrested by four policemen. As soon as I was in the vehicle I started sending righteous thoughts. Three policemen successively got out of the car and only one was left. He looked very weary and simply asked me several questions, and then told me to go home. In less than an hour, I left the police station in a dignified manner.

One night in the summer of 2003, the neighboring county's police station came to my county and illegally arrested 10 people (3 of them were not Falun Gong practitioners), including my husband and I. The police tried to handcuff us, but we clarified the truth to them and they put down the handcuffs. On the way, I continuously thought that we should not cooperate with the police's request in any way, and I thought about Teacher's words,

"The basis of what Dafa disciples do is saving people and doing good. These righteous thoughts are to stop wicked people from doing evil, to warn other bad people, and to prevent the world's people from committing sins, and their purpose is still to save all beings." ("Stop the Evil Acts with Righteous Thoughts")

We sent righteous thoughts, requesting the police vehicle to break down on the road. Soon three cars' engines successively stopped running. The police team was in chaos; some police were repairing cars, and some called for help. Several hours passed by and the vehicles were still motionless. The car that came to help could not do anything. We once again sent righteous thoughts to request a thunderstorm and soon the thunderstorm came. The police were exasperated. They accused us of causing the cars to break down and said we had to compensate them. I said to them, "Falun Gong practitioners are all good people. We did not violate any law, and arresting us was illegal. Bad deeds get karmic retribution, and that's what you're getting. If people do not give justice, heaven will."

Only when the morning was approaching, were the police able to start the car and take us to the detention center. In the detention center, I firmly refused to eat or drink. I was silently memorizing Teacher's lectures day-in and day-out, exercising, sending righteous thoughts for a long time, and clarifying the truth to police. After five days, they sent four of us back to our own county. Later five practitioners were sentenced to prison terms secretly (including my husband), and the longest prison term was nine years. Other practitioners were given heavy fines before they were released.

The summer of 2004 was the time that the evil in our area was most vicious. There were many incidents of police breaking into practitioners' homes and illegally ransacking them, with the excuse that someone reported the practitioners to them. As soon as they found Falun Gong materials, they would levy heavy fines on practitioners and his/her work place. One morning a practitioner came to my home and took Teacher's photo and some Falun Gong materials. While walking back home, she encountered the director of the County 610 Office. He saw that she had a bag in her hand, so he approached her, interrogated her and forcefully arrested her. The same day, I was also arrested and taken to the County Police Station. At first, I acknowledged that the practitioner had obtained Teacher's photo from my home, hoping to reduce the pressure placed upon her. After that, they pressed me for the origin of the Falun Gong materials. I did not cooperate, but clarified the truth to them and concentrated on sending righteous thoughts and asking for Teacher's help. In the end the police fined me 3,000 yuan, which was paid by my workplace first and deducted monthly from my salary. After returning home, I calmly thought about this matter. I thought it was not a coincidence that all this happened. It indicated that I needed to clarify the truth to my workplace and the main officials in charge of this. For several days I went to a few officials and clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. They sympathized with me, but blamed me for causing them trouble at the same time. However, after this they no longer considered this matter again. Six months later my workplace refunded the money that was deducted from my salary.

During the latter half of October 2004, four practitioners and I took a train to Beijing. We brought with us more than 200 copies of truth-clarification materials and adhesive flyers. With righteous thoughts and actions, we arrived in Beijing without any trouble. When we reached the top of the Tiananmen Tower, we immediately spotted 4 security guards. We ignored the cold winter of the north and the security guards' gaze, and we calmed down and sent righteous thoughts for about half an hour in the center of the Tower. Later we sent righteous thoughts in front of the Tower, posted flyers on the street, and distributed truth-clarification material. With Teacher's help, we didn't have any interference. We returned home safely 7 days later.

While validating Falun Dafa, clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings, only with firm belief in Teacher can we have strong righteous thoughts and do well on the cultivation path. This has been my experience and understanding.
