Please Help Rescue My Wife Chen Haibin, Who is Being Tortured at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Chen Haibin is a Falun Dafa practitioner from the Jinzhou District, Dalian City, Liaoning province. As her husband, I appeal to all kind-hearted people in the world to help rescue her and all the other Falun Dafa practitioners held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Right now, my wife is very weak, and they will not give her any medical care.

On the evening of September 10, 2003, while posting truth-clarifying banners, my wife was arrested by police officer Liu Ruihong from the Zhanqian Police Station in Jinzhou District, and she was jailed at the Sanli Detention Center. That night, the police searched my home for the fourth time. One month later, without notifying me, they sent my wife to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp. My family was not allowed to visit her.

In July 2004, Dalian Forced Labor Camp officials called my family and demanded 1,000 yuan for the cost of a "physical exam" for Haibin, but they would not give us any details. After repeated requests, I was able to meet with my wife. I was shocked: in less than nine months, Haibin, who had weighed 70 kilograms (155 pounds), was emaciated. Her once rosy face now looked sallow, and her eyes and mouth were distorted. Her right eye was swollen and pained her; she could not help holding her eye with her hand while talking with me. Her weight was less than 50 kilograms (110 pounds), and I almost did not recognize her.

I asked officers why they had persecuted Haibin into such a horrible state. The female guard said that Haibin had become ill on her own. I told them that the camp officials should take responsibility for my wife's condition. Because I was unemployed and received just 255 yuan per month in government relief payments, I could not afford 1,000 yuan. I said my wife should be released immediately, but they did not agree. I then talked with Sun Liansheng, the resident procurator at the camp. Sun told me that my wife had been sentenced to three years of forced labor.

The camp officials said that if I did not pay the money, my wife would not get any medical treatment. I appealed to the People's Congress, Legal Enforcement Department, Women's Association and the Procurator's office to bail out my wife for medical treatment. But these organizations shifted the responsibility to one another. Finally, the Legal Enforcement Department called the camp and asked them to send my wife for a CT scan, but asked me to pay 300 yuan for the test. Since then, they have not allowed me to see Haibin. In October 2004, the Dalian Forced Labor Camp was disbanded, and my wife was transferred to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City.

At this moment, my wife is very weak, and her eyes and mouth are still distorted. I asked for a medical release , but the Masanjia Camp directors said they would discuss the issue and decide later.

Because of the insane, brutal persecution of Falun Dafa, countless families are broken up, good citizens are fired from their jobs, practitioners lose their freedom and are imprisoned and tortured. Many have died in bloody, horrific ways.

During the past five years, facing such atrocities, Falun Dafa practitioners have acted peacefully and reasonably to stop the persecution.
