Five Older Falun Dafa Practitioners Die as a Result of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Yang Fakui, 76, lived in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. He benefited from Falun Dafa, both mentally and physically, since he began practicing in 1997. He was harassed and threatened many times by the police after July 20, 1999, when the persecution began. He was arrested three times. The first time, he was arrested for doing the exercises in the park. The second time, he was taken to the substation to have his picture and fingerprints taken, and to fill out a form. Later in March 2001, he was taken the third time to attend Erdaopeng Brainwashing Class in Jianghan District. His daughter was detained, and his son-in-law was sent to a forced labor camp. He suffered a great deal emotionally and died on May 30, 2002.

Ms. Zhang Runzhi, 72, lived in Sidaoheng Village, Sanshengkou Township, Yongqing County, Hebei Province. Her illnesses disappeared after she began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. She went to Beijing to appeal on September 17, 1999, and to validate Falun Dafa. Ms. Zhang was arrested and detained for one month at the County Detention Center, and was extorted out of four thousand yuan before being released. After her release, local police frequently harassed her. She died of cancer on March 24, 2002.

Mr. Gao Zhenchen, 74, was a farmer who lived in Chengde Village, Fulu Township, Bamiantong Town, Muling City, Heilongjiang Province. Everyone knew that he was very sick before he practiced Falun Dafa, but all his diseases were cured after he began the practice. After July 20, 1999, local police often harassed him at his home and ransacked his house, confiscating his Falun Dafa books, tapes, and other material. Under the police hounding, he became sick again. His very poor family spent eight thousand yuan for his medical treatment, but it was in vain. He died in November 2003. His wife was also a Falun Dafa practitioner. She became terrified and passed out when police ransacked her home. She also died soon afterwards.

Mr. Yang Shouwu, 80, lived in the Retired Army Official's Home in Yantai City, Shandong Province. His heart disease and high blood pressure were cured after he began Falun Dafa practice, and his hair turned black. After July 20, 1999, he was arrested and detained by policeman Yu Huaishui and others. He died in May, 2000.

Ms. Lu, 86, lived in Qianguo County, Jilin Province. After July 20, 1999, she was harassed many times, and threatened, detained, closely monitored, and arrested by the police. In early 2002, her son and daughter-in-law were arrested and sent to a forced labor camp, leaving her at home alone. Due to long term persecution and mental suffering, she died on June 28, 2004.
