(Clearwisdom.net) Based on statistics published on Clearwisdom.net, in March 2005, we received news of 209 more deaths due to torture of Falun Gong practitioners in China. These cases were confirmed by non-practitioners in China. Since July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang's regime have publicly persecuted Falun Gong. To date, there have been 1,735 confirmed deaths of Falun gong practitioners due to the persecution.

Of the 209 deaths confirmed in March 2005, 41 occurred in January and February, and 14 in March. The rest of the deaths occurred in previous years. There were 79 men and 118 women. The genders of the remaining 12 are not yet confirmed. Women account for 560f those killed.

Among the 209 Falun Gong practitioners killed, the youngest was a teacher, Ms. Bai Yanxia, from the Haotou High School in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. She died in the summer of 2000. There were 51 people over 70 years old. The oldest was a 93-year-old practitioner, Yang Gaoshi, from Qingle Village, Xinxingmanzu Township, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. Yang's internal organs were injured due to the torture inflicted by the 610 Office. Yang Gaoshi died on January 20, 2002.

The 209 practitioners who lost their lives were from 23 provinces, self-governed areas, and municipalities. There were 31 deaths in Liaoning Province, 29 in Jilin Province, 28 in both Shandong and Hebei Provinces, 21 in Heilongjiang, 10 in Hubei, 8 in Inner Mongolia, 7 in the City of Beijing, 6 in both Henan and Sichuan, 5 in Anhui, 4 in both Guangxi and Guizhou, 3 in Chongqing City, Tianjin City, and Shanxi Province, 2 in both Jiangxi and Gansu, one in Hunan, Tibet, and Xinjiang, and one person was from Taiwan.

Among these confirmed cases, it was very common for the practitioners to suffer severe physical and mental torture. They were brutally beaten, tortured, and subjected to brainwashing in various ways. The forced labor camps, prisons, brainwashing centers, local police stations, and the 610 Offices persecuted these practitioners, tried to force them to give up "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," and illegally confiscated their personal and household property, arrested them, and extorted huge sums of money from them. These are all common methods of persecution.

Many people were illegally tortured for prolonged periods of time in the forced labor camps or the brainwashing centers. When they were on the brink of death, these facilities would send the practitioners home to avoid being held responsible for their deaths. Many people died shortly after being sent home because of the tremendous trauma and the damage to their bodies that they endured in detention.

Most of these people had been cured of various illnesses when they first started to practice Falun Dafa. They were healthy in both body and mind before being arrested. The persecution deprived them of their right to practice Falun Gong and tortured them physically and mentally. Being unable to practice Falun Dafa caused a decline in their physical conditions or the recurrence of their previous diseases. This, added to the physical and mental abuse, eventually caused the deaths of the practitioners.

Mr. Xu Weidong Passed Away in 2004 Due to Torture at Huanxiling Labor Camp in Jilin City

Practitioner Xu Weidong died on December 29, 2004

Mr. Xu Weidong, 37, worked at the Jilin Alcohol Factory. On July 19, 1999, upon hearing that several Falun Gong contact persons in other cities had been arrested, Xu Weidong and his mother, Xia Guiqin, decided to go to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong along with many other practitioners. However, the police intercepted them when their train was half-way to Beijing. Xu Weidong and his fellow practitioners went to Beijing again in December 1999, and were unlawfully arrested and jailed in a detention center in Beijing. They were released two weeks later.

On September 28, 2000, Xu Weidong and his mother went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Gong with other practitioners. They were unlawfully arrested in a practitioner's house in Fengtai District. Xu Weidong was sentenced to 3 years in a forced labor camp, and was jailed in the 4th Division of Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp, Jilin City. To protest the unlawful detention and the brutal tortures the Falun Gong practitioners suffered in the labor camp, Xu Weidong went on hunger strikes several times. He was brutally tortured in the 4th Division, the brainwashing group, and the 2nd Division. He suffered greatly in the labor camp. The guards beat and shocked him with several electric batons at the same time, trying to force him to reform. However, Mr. Xu was very steadfast and did not give in. Once, he was force-fed so brutally that he became unconscious for half an hour, and had to be sent to Yueshan Road 22 Hospital, Jilin City for treatment. In October 2001, Mr. Xu was near death because of the torture. In order to avoid responsibility, the labor camp released the dying man.

Due to the long-term torture, Xu Weidong suffered severe physical and mental injuries. After being released, he was mentally disoriented and unable to talk or take care of himself. He eventually passed away on December 29, 2004. His son and the rest of his family now live in a difficult situation.

Ms. Tian Li from Weihai City, Shandong Province Dies After Enduring Three Years of Paralysis Caused by Torture

Ms. Tian Li from Weihai City, Shandong Province was abducted by Liu Jie, head of the Weihai City Huancui District 610 Office, and taken, with other practitioners, to the Weihai City Prison. Ms. Tian died on February 21, 2005, after the torture had left her totally paralyzed for three years.

Ms. Tian Li, 42, began practicing Falun Dafa in the second half of 1998. Clearwisdom.net reported on October 24, 2003, that at around 9 o'clock on the morning of May 22, 2002, head of the Weihai City 610 Office, Liu Jie, led four people to Tian Li's work unit -- the Weihai City Hailin Hotel. They grabbed Tian Li and viciously beat her. They then took her to the Chengli Police Station of Weihai City where they continued beating her. Finally, they detained Tian Li in Weihai City's Gaoqu Prison. The police handcuffed her hands behind her back, forced her to sit on a metal chair and exposed her to the heat of the sun. At about 1 o'clock in the afternoon, Tian Li wanted to move her body, which had grown numb. However, the metal chair fell forward and she hit the ground, immediately losing consciousness. When she awoke, she found she could not move. The police ignored this and once again tied her up to the metal chair. When they later realized that something was wrong, they sent her to Weihai City Hospital. Ms. Tian's whole body had become paralyzed. After being in hospital for more than a month (during the period of hospitalization, her family had to pay for all medical and living expenses), the hospital could not cure the problem, so they sent her home to recuperate.

Tian Li was paralyzed and lay in bed until she died. She had to be bathed and diapered like a baby. Her legs and arms had become deformed. Since her husband worked and her son was only 11 years old, her family had no choice but hire someone to take care of her. Tian Li had always been a very healthy person in the past. The police tried to cover up the fact that they had tortured her by saying that Tian Li "had been injured when she tried to commit suicide by jumping out of a building."

At that time, Tian Li's family prepared to sue the police, who became frightened when they learned of this. In order to prevent the lawsuit, the Party Secretary at Tian Li's husband's work unit looked for her husband to testify, saying that they would compensate for her death by paying several hundred thousand yuan. However, the family has not received any "compensation" to date. Tian Li's work unit stopped paying her salary when the 610 Office arrested her.

Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Qu Hongkui Dies in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp as a Result of Torture

Mr. Qu Hongkui, from Dongliao County, Liaoyuan Province went out to clarify the truth many times. He was sentenced to three years of forced labor in December 2001, and developed tuberculosis inside the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. He was released on December 29, 2004, and died on February 13, 2005.

Mr. Qu Hongkui, 41, lived in Erdao Village, Lingyuan Township, Dongliao County, Liaoyuan City. He went out many times to clarify the truth and validate the Fa. The first time he was sentenced to forced labor, he served the term in Liaoyuan City Labor Camp. Falun Dafa practitioners in that camp had to perform hard labor, such as digging ditches, mixing concrete, and carrying rocks. The forced labor camp made money from the prisoner's hard work. The uniformed guards in the camp often tortured practitioners by tying their hands behind their backs, depriving them of sleep, and yet still forcing them to work all day. In order to prevent Falun Dafa practitioners from doing the exercises, guards demanded that practitioners stand facing the wall or "ride an airplane" (1) around the clock. They were not allowed to move. If the practitioners moved, the guards ordered criminal inmates to beat them with wooden boards. If the wooden boards broke during a beating, the inmates would use cables to whip the practitioners, while cursing and threatening them at the same time. One day in August 2000, Mr. Qu Hongkui was beaten so severely that he could not walk for a long time afterwards.

On December 30, 2001, Mr. Qu Hongkui was sentenced to forced labor for the second time, again in Chaoyanggou Labor Camp. He endured countless brainwashing sessions and many rounds of torture, and he also suffered from scabies and tuberculosis. Due to malnutrition and lack of medical treatment, he lost so much weight he became severely underweight and could not recover. Even under this circumstance, the camp would not release him.

Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Ma Jingfang, A Music Teacher at Beijing Normal University, Dies as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Ma Jingfang, 59, was a resident of Ande Road, Dongcheng District, Beijing, and a music teacher at Beijing Normal University. She participated in the April 25 peaceful appeal at Zhongnanhai in 1999. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Ma continued to steadfastly practice Falun Dafa. She went to validate Dafa on Tiananmen Square and she was illegally sentenced to forced labor terms twice. On March 8, 2005, as a result of relentless harassment by the police and the police brutality putting her in an extremely weakened physical condition, Ms. Ma died.

On the night of July 12, 2001, while Ms. Ma Jingfang and another practitioner were distributing truth-clarifying materials, the police arrested them and took them to Dongcheng Prison, where Ms. Ma was tortured for 7 days because she refused to tell the police her address. Finally, the police took pictures of her and took them to all the community centers in the district. Staff at her local community center recognized her and provided the police with her address. The police then ransacked her home and confiscated all of her Falun Dafa books. Ms. Ma was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor.

At Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp, Wang Zhaofeng (Captain of the 7th Division) brutally persecuted Ms. Ma because she refused to give up her belief. Wang planned to extend her term. Because Ms. Ma had been tortured for almost a year, her health had deteriorated and she was very weak. In July 2002, she suddenly fell unconscious, and was sent to the emergency room at Daxing Hospital for treatment. After spending a few hours in the emergency room, Ms. Ma regained consciousness. The police staff knew that they had persecuted Ms. Ma severely. Afraid of taking responsibility for her death, they sent her home to recuperate.

After Ms. Ma returned home, her chest felt very tight and she had difficulty breathing. Sometimes her whole body would swell up. She was hospitalized many times and was diagnosed with cardiac insufficiency, which was life threatening. Yet, the police continually harassed her. They came to her home or phoned her many times. The local community center staff constantly monitored her.

Later, Ms. Ma was illegally sentenced to 3 years of forced labor. Because of her extremely weak physical condition, the forced labor camp refused to accept her and they let her serve her term at home. The local police station and community center closely monitored Ma Jingfang, limiting her freedom to leave her home. They told Ms. Ma that when her physical condition improved, she would be returned to a forced labor camp. On March 8, 2005, due to the torture and subsequent relentless harassment, Ms. Ma Jingfang died.

Every death is a bloody debt the CCP has accrued. There are consequences for wrongdoing and all debts must be paid. The law of the universe is governing everything, and the day of reckoning is getting closer.

Note:

(1) Riding an airplane - In this torture, the head is bent down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands are pulled up and held up to the highest point. The hips have to point up. One is forced to keep this position unchanged for a long time. The body in this position looks like the shape of an airplane, which is how this torture came to be named.
