Five Falun Gong Practitioners from Jilin, Shandong, Sichuan, and Hebei Provinces Die from Persecution (Photo)

Mr. Luo Zhencai, 40, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Xinjia Village, Yingchengzi Township, Yitong County, Jilin Province. Prior to practicing Falun Gong, he suffered from many diseases, including severe hepatitis. He could not take care of his own daily needs. After starting Falun Gong practice in September 1997, his diseases completely disappeared. He was arrested in January 2000 and detained at the Yuanxinjia Police Station for 15 days. Due to frequent harassment by Yuanxinjia Police Station staff, Luo's mental health suffered greatly. This had a severe impact on his physical health and he passed away on February 9, 2005.

Luo Zhencai's surviving son, Luo Shupeng, is only 12 years old. He is a fourth-grader at Xinjia Village Elementary School. Luo Zhencai's wife, 36-year-old Jin Yanfeng, has remarried. Luo Zhencai's father, 80-year-old Luo Baotian, moved in with Luo Zhencai's second brother. The family owes more than 20,000 yuan for Luo Zhencai's medical expenses.

Ms. Sun Junying, 77, was a resident of Xiaowujia Village, Dawujia Township, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. When she first began learning Falun Gong in 1996, Ms. Sun was illiterate. Through studying Falun Gong books, however, she was able to read the whole book, Zhuan Falun, without any difficulties. Her many diseases, including chronic intestinal infections, chronic bronchitis, and heart disease, were all cured after practicing Falun Gong. She was able to do physical labor just like a young woman. The power of Falun Dafa has manifested in her. All three of her children also practice Falun Gong.

Since Jiang Zemin and his group started persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999, staff from the village government and her son's work unit continuously came to her house to harass her. Her son was almost fired from his job. One of her daughters was fired from her job, and the other one was illegally sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. Due to this severe trauma, Ms. Sun developed serious illnesses and passed away on September 19, 2004.

Ms. Li Guohua was over 70 years of age. She was from the 5^th Precinct in Hongjiang area, Xinqiao Township, Suining City, Sichuang Province. She was admitted to the hospital for stomach cancer in 1998. During her hospital stay, she heard about Falun Gong and began practicing it. Her cancer soon completely disappeared. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, and under the threats of the local 610 Office and the police department, her husband began to closely monitor Ms. Li in 2000 and restricted her from practicing Falun Gong. Her old illnesses therefore relapsed, and she passed away in June 2000.

Ms. Zhao Chun, 93, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Songyuan City, Jilin Province. Because her daughter-in-law, daughter, and son-in-law all practiced Falun Gong, they were arrested many times, and their home was ransacked. Ms. Zhao's physical and mental health suffered and she passed away in January 2005.

Ms. Jia Xiangyun, 66, lived at 213 Zhaiying Street, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. She began to practice Falun Gong in 1994. In April and July 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong first started, she went to Beijing to appeal. She again went to Beijing to appeal on April 25, 2000, and since returning she was frequently harassed by her local police and resident's council. She was unable to practice the Falun Gong exercises or read the Falun Gong books. She developed diabetes and passed away on February 4, 2005.
