The rally was to raise awareness about [practitioners] who were allegedly detained and tortured in China, said Falun Gong [practitioner] Jobo Lavina.

Protesters displayed enlarged pictures of alleged torture victims outside the hotel and hung a streamer reading "Stop the persecution of Falun Gong in China."

Lavina said Falun Gong practitioners will follow Hu during his three-day visit to Manila.
