AFP Report: Two Falun Gong Practitioners Will Appeal Singapore Court Verdict
(Clearwisdom.net) According to a report from AFP on April 27, two Falun Gong practitioners
were detained in Singapore on Wednesday after refusing to pay court-imposed
fines for handing out VCDs in public that promoted their spiritual belief,
their lawyer said. Defence lawyer Alfred Dodwell told AFP his clients felt they
had been treated unfairly by the law and would appeal the verdict. According to the report, Singapore Falun Buddhist Society spokeswoman
Diana Wang said in a statement the city-state was the only country outside
China that had brought charges against Falun Gong practitioners for carrying
out truth-clarification activities. |
