Victoria, Canada: Friends of Falun Gong Club Takes Part in Health Empowerment Fairs

Recently, our Campus Friends of Falun Gong Club was invited to participate in the first set of Health Empowerment Fairs organized by the Camosun College Women's Center. We realized that this opportunity would be a perfect window through which to clarify the truth to students, the fair participants and the organizers. By exchanging views on inner peace and global peace, we could establish common ground from which we could tell them the facts of Falun Dafa.

The fairs were held at two campuses one week apart. New club members were surprised to see that a large number of students already seemed well informed about Falun Gong. Some had seen the exercises or had read the introductory teachings. Many expressed their gratitude as they took the music CDs, bookmarks, and other truth-clarification materials we offered free of charge.

Some people who saw the exercise demonstration for the first time said they could feel our calm energy field. Others were surprised that they had not heard of the massive persecution of Falun Gong in China before, and they signed our petition calling for an end to the persecution. There was one student who was in Germany at the time that practitioners were appealing during former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin's visit. The student thought it was remarkable that practitioners were peacefully appealing for an end to the persecution. Some people had seen shocking scenes of persecution while in China, and shared their views. Others peoples' minds had been poisoned by the Party's hate propaganda -- especially some people from Mainland China, who had been systematically lied to for many years. One man said that he would gladly take our materials home to share with his Chinese wife.

Gradually, people are starting to understand the truth behind the Chinese Communist Party's lies. They are beginning to see that Jiang Zemin's loss of popularity and growing jealousy is what prompted him and his party to persecute Falun Gong. More and more people recognize that the values of Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance are upright and noble. They know that nobody should be punished and tortured for their beliefs and that retribution is imminent for the perpetrators of the persecution.

Overall, our club was thrilled to have been a part of this vibrant group that presented us with the perfect opportunity to validate the Fa on both campuses. Practitioners worked hard to make the most of these events and were happy about the turnout.
