Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Xianmin from Shehong County, Sichuan Province Tortured to Death

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 1, 2005, at around 11 a.m., Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xianmin from Shehong County, Sichuan Province went to attend her friends' and family's New Year's banquet held in the County Government (owned) Hotel. She was abducted by 610 Office members and held at the county detention center. On April 7, she was tortured to death.

Ms. Li Xianmin, 51 years old, used to work for the Shehong County Social Security Bureau. She was demoted from her Department Head position because of practicing Falun Dafa. On January 31, 2000, Ms. Li went to Beijing to appeal, and was held at Shehong County Detention Center for 90 days.

On June 30, 2000, Ms. Li went to Beijing the second time, and was under house arrest for one month by her employer. They also withheld 10 months of her salary. On the evening of November 5, 2003, at around 8 pm, police officer Zhou Yuan (gender unknown) and a dozen other police officers stormed into her home, ransacked it, and confiscated her family's electric equipment and other possessions. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor but was on parole, and her home was ransacked three times. Her employer stopped paying her monthly salary and only paid her 400 yuan for basic living costs.

After Ms. Li was abducted, the 610 Office members also ransacked the home of her parents. Her parents were about 80 years old. Her father died due to the pressure of the harassment he received in the middle of February 2005, and her mother was so frightened that she is still afraid to see any strangers.

This is the second death case from torture in the Shehong County Detention Center. The first one was 53-year-old practitioner Mr. He Shaohuai, and he died on September 15, 2003 (see http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/6/13/49179.html).
