The Swiss Friends of Falun Gong Association was founded 2030 days after the beginning of the persecution against Falun Gong officially began in China.

Swiss Friends of Falun Gong was founded to expose the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners through a number of different activities. FoFG also will expose the truth of the persecution to the general public and will work towards the end of the persecution perpetrated by China.

Switzerland's Friends of Falun Gong intends to give moral support to the Falun Gong practitioners in China. At the same time, this association will participate in the worldwide efforts that call upon the Chinese authorities to end the genocide (as termed by human rights organizations).

In 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, brought Falun Gong for the first time to the public. Within a short period of time, Falun Gong gained increasing popularity in China, because of its positive health effects. As of July 20th 1999, China could be proud of 100 million Falun Gong practitioners. This number corresponds to 7.6% of China's population. This trend indicated the steady growth of Falun Gong.

People from all levels of society decided to practice Falun Gong. Everyone hoped to improve her/his health and desired from deep within to improve her/his morality and live by the principles, Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. These people decided to achieve compassion at all times, treat everyone well, and think of others first. Such attitudes affected China's population in all social strata positively.

Among the growth of goodness, those who have something to hide become fearful

China's former dictator initiated the inhuman persecution of these kindhearted people by banning Falun Gong. He built, through misuse of Chinese government assets, a system at all government levels, whose sole purpose was and is to eradicate Falun Gong. He bares responsibility for the deaths of an unknown number of people who wanted only to be good people. He is responsible for the imprisonment of hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners and is responsible for the torture of elderly kindhearted people, as well as children. He is also responsible for the destruction of family units by tearing them apart, because their members either succumbed to the persecution or became homeless in order to escape persecution.

The past 2030 days that have passed since the beginning of the persecution signify for millions of families unspeakable sorrow, and for millions of children fear, nightmares and sleepless nights. These 2030 days mean for millions of children the loss of parental support, because they were torn from their parents' arms. These days signify for millions of children broken hearts that can't be mended with tears. These 2030 days also mean for millions of elderly people that they are alone without support, because the children who were taking care of them were taken away by the persecution. They are on the run, imprisoned, tortured or killed by people who no longer have a conscience.

These conscienceless beings, who are responsible for the bestial behavior of the staff in forced labor camps and whose orders have brought unspeakable sorrow in the form of humiliation and torture, have met in recent times as China's representatives with leaders from western democratic countries. They have the impertinence to present themselves as cosmopolitan and progressive.

None of us would wish to have to suffer one day, no, not even one hour, the inhumanity these innocent people are suffering. These practitioners have suffered incessant inhuman pain since the beginning of these 2030 days and yet the world community has not shown any serious effort to stop these inhuman activities.

Giving courage to the persecuted in China

Swiss Friends of Falun Gong will use many activities to highlight this persecution, clarify the truth to the public and work towards an early end of this unlawful persecution in China. This association will give moral support to the Falun Gong practitioners in China and give them courage, in the hope that they will be able to survive the persecution.

China is a signatory to the United Nations Human Rights Convention. Because of this, Falun Gong practitioners in China have the right to their belief and the freedom to meet with like-minded people. All virtuous people should condemn the state terror perpetrated on these innocents.

We are certain that Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, which are Falun Gong's principles, would bring only goodness to any society, no matter which country or political system.

Every human and every organization is given the opportunity to support the Swiss Friends of Falun Gong in their effort to stop this inhumanity.
