Ms. Zhang Fanglin, a Falun Dafa practitioner and former Chengguan Elementary School teacher from Hengshan Town, Huoshan County, Anhui Province, passed away

Ms. Zhang Fanglin, 44 years old, was a former teacher from Chengguan Elementary School, Hengshan Town, Huoshan County, Anhui Province. Her high blood pressure returned to normal after she began practicing Falun Gong. For five years she was a key target of persecution by Huoshan County police and officials. In 2000, she was transferred to the countryside to perform hard labor. She peacefully and lawfully appealed for Falun Gong. As a result, she was illegally detained for one month. She was then detained for one year in a labor camp, where she was brainwashed. Ms. Zhang sustained cruel persecution, both mentally and physically, and her high blood pressure returned. After getting out of the labor camp, she persisted in cultivation. Officials repeatedly harassed her and forced her to attend brainwashing classes. One day in 2004, a brainwashing class was held in her own home. Her husband, a policeman under enormous pressure from his supervisor, beat her until she became unconscious. On March 8, 2005, Wang Caiqiong, the school principal, made difficulties for her and forced her to attend another brainwashing class. Ms. Zhang Fanglin tried to reason with the principal. That afternoon, Ms. Zhang passed out, and on March 16 she passed away.

Ms. Zheng Weiying, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, was persecuted to death in October 2004

Ms. Zheng Weiying, about 51 years of age, lived in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. She started practicing Falun Gong before Jiang's regime launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. In July and November 1999, she made peaceful and lawful appeals for Falun Gong in Beijing. She was illegally detained at Tianhe Detention Center twice, for a total of 30 days. There she was brutally tortured and beaten viciously with clubs. Other practitioners, including Wu Hongxia, Chen Hua, and Chen Chunli, were also severely beaten. Chen Hua had salty water forced into her mouth. In December 1999, Ms. Zheng appealed for Falun Gong in Beijing once more. She was illegally detained again and sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp in 2000. Ms. Zheng suffered cruel persecution. In October 2004, Ms. Zheng passed away.

Practitioners Ms. Wang Conghua, 82, and Mrs. Ma, 83, from Jilin Province, both passed away in 2001

Ms. Wang Conghua, 82 years old, was a practitioner in Tonghua County, Jilin Province. She began practicing Falun Gong in the spring of 1997. Soon after she started, she recovered from past diseases, including prolapse of the uterus. Her menstrual period also returned. Ms. Wang was in high spirits. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, her family members were afraid of being persecuted and didn't let her practice Falun Gong anymore. Also, her eldest son passed away, and her two daughters and a son-in-law were detained. Ms. Wang suffered brutal persecution, both physically and mentally. She could not take the tremendous mental stress, and her past diseases returned. She passed away on March 5, 2001.

Mrs. Ma, 83, was a practitioner in Nigou Village, Lianhua Town, Shulan City, Jilin Province. After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, her health was restored. After July 20, 1999, because her third daughter and son-in-law persisted in practicing Falun Gong, they were repeatedly harassed, monitored, and arrested. Local police extorted money from them. Ms. Ma lived in constant fear. On November 20, 2001, she passed away.

Mr. Li Shouchen, a practitioner, from Tonghua County, Jilin Province, passed away in 2000 after being harassed and threatened

Mr. Li Shouchen, 50 years old, was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Tonghua County, Jilin Province. He started to practice Falun Gong in December 1997. He recovered from several diseases, including uremia. Before he practiced Falun Gong, he had spent more than ten thousand yuan for medical treatment. He was unskilled and bad off financially. After he practiced Falun Gong, it seemed like he could do anything. Falun Gong gave him a new life. Before July 20, 1999, his home was a practice site. When the persecution of Falun Gong began, the local police and the officials in his village and hometown repeatedly went to his home and harassed him. They searched his house without a warrant for Falun Gong books and threatened him. His elder sister was illegally detained, and Mr. Li suffered enormous persecution. He couldn't take the tremendous mental stress and his health deteriorated. Mr. Li passed away on December 21, 2000.
