Mr. Zhang Hui, who graduated from the College of Aquatic Products of Huazhong Agriculture University, lived in Sancha Township, Xiaonan District, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province. He has been missing since December 7, 2000, the day he went to Tiananmen Square to appeal to the Chinese government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. At the time, he was 22. He has not been seen or heard from since. We have no information on his whereabouts or fate.

Ms. Yu Guiping, a Falun Gong practitioner from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, was born on December 26, 1946. She was slim, about 1.7 meters (5 ft. 7 in.) in height, and wore corrective glasses for myopia. She worked at the Research Institute of Educational Sciences, located in Gansu Province.

Before Ms. Yu practiced Falun Gong, she had had stomach surgery and was in poor health. She stayed in bed throughout the year, and suffered tremendously. According to her own description, Ms. Yu did not even have the strength to lift a tea kettle. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1998 and her health quickly returned. She was then able to take care of herself and help with household work. Her family environment returned to one of happiness and warmth.

Before practicing Falun Gong, Yu Guiping took a long-term sick leave from work. After she began practicing, she was able to work half-time, and she resumed full time work a short time later. With restored health, Ms. Yu was cheerful and optimistic. There was one instance in which she joined a trip sponsored by her work unit. She was even able to carry bags for her colleagues. When her colleagues observed her lively and positive outlook and good health, they all commended the miracle created by Falun Gong. Ms. Yu told people, "Falun Gong has given me a second life."

After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Falun Gong and its founder, Teacher Mr. Li Hongzhi, have been slandered and falsely charged. Falun Gong practitioners have been inhumanly persecuted. Ms. Yu said, "Teacher Li and Falun Gong gave me a second life. Many practitioners are appealing on behalf of Falun Gong. I have benefited so much from practicing, how can I live my life without doing something for Falun Gong? I must share my own personal experiences and tell people that Falun Gong is good." Thus, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on January 25, 2000, but has been missing ever since.

Five years have passed, but we still have no information about Ms. Yu. Her family has tried to find her in all the Beijing prisons and detention centers, but the police have not provided any information.
