Details of the Severe Persecution Suffered by Mr. Wu Longbo

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wu Longbo was born in 1973. He began practicing Falun Gong after he read the book Zhuan Falun in August of 1996.

Mr. Wu Longbo resides in the Xida Residential Area on North Avenue in the Chuanying District, Jilin City, which is under the jurisdiction of the Xida Police Station. In July 20, 1999, as soon as Mr. Wu learned that some of his fellow practitioners had been arrested, he set out for Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. He was captured as he was traveling, and sent back to Jilin City. In September of the same year, Mr. Wu was arrested and forced to attend the "transformation classes," where he refused to write a "guarantee letter." As a result, he was put into a detention center and later sent to the Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp for one year.

During his detention, Wu Longbo was sent twice to a mental hospital, where he was injected with drugs that damaged his central nervous system. He remained dazed, his reactions slowed, and he was unable to take care of himself. In March 2003, Mr. Wu left his home to avoid further persecution, but he was arrested again and sent to a forced labor camp for three years. He was detained in the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp, Jiutai City, Jilin Province.

During his second detention, Zheng Hailing, the head of the labor camp administration section, and policeman Feng Wei persecuted Mr. Wu. He was sent to the "Education Team," where he was brutally tortured. Policeman Gao Ke should be held accountable for the death of Falun Gong practitioners.

On May 13, 2003, in response to the brutal torture of practitioners and the grueling labor assigned by Captains Wang, Wang and Captain Zhang from the Third Team, Mr. Wu Longbo and five other practitioners escaped from the forced labor camp. Unfortunately all of them were re-captured, but their courage shocked the authorities.

On May 18, 2003, because Mr. Wu didn't cooperate with their unreasonable demands after he was captured, police officer Feng Wei tortured him. The policeman lashed his back using a whip made of electrical wire and shocked him with electric batons for a long time. Mr. Wu also suffered the torture called the "Big Hang Up" (1) and was put into an isolation cell for seven days. This treatment worsened the state of his health. Moreover, Wu Longbo's detention was illegally extended by two months.

He was later transferred to Team No. 2, where the education instructor Feng Wei and police officers Guo Yiping and Li Chengzhou continued to persecute him. They failed to change Mr. Wu's steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. After he came back from Team No. 2, he was frequently shocked with electric batons by police officers Xie Guoxin and Guo Yiping, who tried to force him to stop practicing Falun Gong. With the support of fellow practitioners, Mr. Wu resolutely survived the persecution.

In 2004, the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp started another campaign of transformations targeting Dafa practitioners. In June, Team No. 5 sent some practitioners to the "Strict Monitoring" team for forced "transformation." Mr. Wu was under extreme pressure. After the compromise he made there due to the immense pressure, he suffered a slight mental collapse. But soon afterwards, he declared his statement null and void.

Mr. Wu is now being persecuted in the "Strict Monitoring" team. He was not released in March 2005 when his sentence expired. Instead, his sentence was extended for six months due to his escape attempt. His detention was also extended five days per month because he refuses to be "transformed." At present, 74 practitioners are in the "Strict Monitoring" team in the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp.

(1) There are two forms of this torture: In one torture method, the practitioner's hands are handcuffed behind their back, and they are suspended by a rope that is tied to the handcuffs until only their toes touch the ground; In another method, one hand of a practitioner is handcuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed, and the two beds are pulled in opposite directions. It is extremely painful as the body is stretched.
