Mr. Guo Shijun Is Tortured to Death, Police Cremate His Body without Permission

(Clearwisdom Net) On March 26, 2005, due to video footage about Mr. Guo Shijun's death by torture posted on the Minghui/Clearwisdom websites, Harbin City's authorities were so alarmed that the city police, the Nangang District police, and two department officials took up the case. Against the family's wishes, they cremated Mr. Guo's corpse on March 29, 2005.

Mr. Guo Shijun was a Falun Gong practitioner in Red Flag Village, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. The Shuangcheng City police arrested him for handing out truth-clarification materials in February 2004. He was detained for a year in Harbin City's Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp, where he was tortured with electric batons, the iron chair and other devices. The police didn't release him until he was at death's door. He died eight days later, on February 9, 2005. His body was completely covered with ghastly black and blue bruises.

After the video footage exposing Mr. Guo's death appeared on the Internet', the Harbin City Police Department, the City Agriculture Committee, the Nangang City Police Department, the Red Flag Village Police Station, and probably the National Security Department cremated his body at night on March 29, 2005. In addition, the officials started an intensive investigation into the source of the news footage exposure. They declared their intention to find out the party responsible for the news leak rather than to investigate the criminals who had tortured Mr. Guo to death.
