610 Office Collaborates With Police to Persecute Practitioners, Terrorizing an Elderly Grandmother and Her Grandson in Jiamusi City

Early in 2002, the vice president of Yonghong District Public Security Bureau in Jiamusi City, Liu Libo, gave the order to arrest all Falun Dafa practitioners and detain them at local police stations.

On April 10, 2002, Chen Wanyou, Chen Yongde, Li Shuqing and others from the 610 Office in Jiamusi City came up with a sinister plan to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Five of them ended up arresting a group of practitioners, including an elderly lady of 80 and a child of just 2 years old.

The police knew that most people in the society respected Falun Gong, even if they did not practice. The police were afraid that if they tried to arrest Falun Gong practitioners during the day, the people would see them and express righteous indignation over their illegal actions, so they decided to arrest the practitioners quietly and late at night.

Starting at 8 p.m. on the evening of April 10, officials from the Youyilu Police Station sent two police vehicles to Ms. Zhang Lie's home. On arrival the police rushed inside, and without any warrant, searched the house. They forced Ms. Zhang and her daughter into the police car and imprisoned them at the police station. Later, the police went back to the house and abducted Ms Li Xianglan.

They took Ms. Li to the police station then went back again for Ms Feng Guifen. By that time it was almost midnight. Ms Feng did not open the door, but the police pried open the lock. Inside were Ms Feng and her two-year-old grandson. The child was panic-stricken when he saw so many policemen shouting demands at his grandmother. He hugged his grandmother's neck and buried his head deeply, not daring to look up again.

At that point four policemen threw themselves at Ms Feng and tried to take her grandson from her. Ms Feng held her grandson firmly. The poor child was howling and crying during the struggle, but another policeman still joined in, and the five of them stole the child away from Ms Feng's bosom. Ms Feng called out to her grandson in desperation while he struggled, crying and holding out his hands to her.

Altogether, four Falun Dafa practitioners were detained at Jiamusi Municipal Jail that night, and thirteen days later they were sentenced without legal proceeding to three years in a forced labor camp.

The police delayed giving the child back to his parents until 9 a.m. on the second day, even though they knew perfectly well who his parents were. The child was so scared. He immediately rushed to his parents and hid his face from the police. He was not able to cry or say anything. After the police left, he lowered his head and leaned on the windowsill the whole day, looking out without making a sound. His parents understood later that he was actually looking for his grandmother, hoping she would come home.
