(Clearwisdom.net) May 15, 2005 is the eighth day of the fourth month in the Chinese lunar calendar. On the occasion of the 13th anniversary of Falun Dafa's public introduction and also our Master's 54th birthday, about a hundred Falun Gong practitioners from the Washington DC area gathered on Capitol Hill to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day and respectfully wish our benevolent great Master a Happy Birthday.

The weather was pleasant and Capitol Hill was full of bustling crowds. In addition to large numbers of Western and Chinese tourists, police officers from all over the world had also gathered here to participate in an annual memorial activity to commemorate officers who have died in the line of duty. President Bush, U.S. Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao and several other high-level government officials attended the activity.

Practitioners displayed the beauty of Falun Dafa and introduced the persecution in China with an exercise demonstration, art performances, poster exhibit and truth-clarifying materials. A Western practitioner introduced Falun Dafa to a police officer who passed by. He said, "You are the one who implement the laws in the human world, while what Falun Dafa teaches is the laws of the universe. It is really interesting that the two groups should meet here today." The police officer nodded and expressed that he felt the same way. Many officers had heard of Falun Gong before. Upon hearing about how the Chinese police persecute Falun Gong practitioners, some clearly said: "This is the U.S.; these kinds of things will never happen here."

Upon seeing the Falun Dafa Day event, a student from Mainland China sighed with emotion, "It is the same Falun Gong, but it has a completely different situation in the U.S. than in China. Here, practitioners have the freedom to hold activities on Capitol Hill with the American President and police officers from all over the world. There are only several dozens yards between the two activities. Falun Gong practitioners' peacefulness is recognized by the entire world. Unfortunately in China, police officers wantonly arrest and torture Falun Gong practitioners."
