Celebrating the 6th World Falun Dafa Day and the 13th Anniversary of Falun Gong's Introduction to the Public

"Falun Dafa Is Great!" Shakes the Masanjia Labor Camp on World Falun Dafa Day

(Clearwisdom.net) May 13, 2005, is World Falun Dafa Day. On this day, many Falun Dafa practitioners detained in the Masanjia Labor Camp shouted, "Falun Dafa is great!" in order to celebrate the World Falun Dafa Day together with fellow practitioners throughout the world who are saving sentient beings in different environments.

After the Longshan Labor Camp was closed, all detained Falun Dafa practitioners were transferred to the Masanjia Labor Camp. Now there are still about six hundred Falun Dafa practitioners detained in the Masanjia Labor Camp. We have learned it may also soon be shut down.

Falun Dafa practitioners in Liaoning Province have been diligent in sending forth righteous thoughts every evening at 7, 8, and 9 p.m. since the latter half of 2004, and this has been beneficial in negating the evil and turning around some practitioners. Most Falun Dafa practitioners who previously succumbed to brainwashing have declared that they will resume their cultivation. Also the end of year forced-brainwashing did not take place in 2004 as it did in the past.

Indonesia: Jakarta Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net, May 19, 2005) In Indonesia, the scale of the World Falun Dafa celebration was much larger than in previous years. On May 15, Jakarta practitioners celebrated this Falun Dafa Day at a seacoast in the northern district of Jakarta. In a very short time, they formed a fairy group, waist drum troupe and a banner group to celebrate and entertain the audience. They also rented several boats which they turned into "Falun Dafa Boats" with colorful banners and a practitioner crew.

The celebration started with the waist drum's joyful drumbeats. A spectator said that he never saw a celebration of this kind, which was very creative and novel. Furthermore, he noticed that some of the drummers were from a local ethnic group. When practitioners started to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises, to the surprise of some in the audience, there were also some local ethnic residents. Indonesians typically believe that Buddhism is only for Chinese and that Falun Dafa is also part of Buddhism. They have now learned that Falun Dafa is not the same as the Buddhist religion and the practice is for all people.

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 15, 2005, Falun Gong pra7ctitioners from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island gathered in Boston Garden in downtown Boston to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. The celebration featured mainly a large-scale group practice, accompanied by dancing and a puppet show. Display boards depicting the brutal persecution of Falun Gong happening in China were set up along the roadside, attracting many passersby to stop and look. Many people surrounded the small table where paper lotus flowers were made. They could make paper lotus flowers themselves, while appreciating the beauty of Falun Dafa and learning about the persecution.

German Media Report: Jiang Renzheng Sentenced to a Forced Labor Camp for Three Years after being Deported to China (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Jiang Renzheng, a Chinese national, had applied for political refugee status for practicing Falun Gong in Germany but was rejected and repatriated to China. Less than one month after he returned to China, he suffered persecution and was sentenced to three years of forced labor.

Mr. Jiang Renzheng was sentenced to three years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong

A German newspaper called Prima Sonntag reported on April 17, 2005:

Mr. Jiang Renzheng, a Chinese national, was repatriated from Wuerzburg to China on March 7th 2005. At present he is sentenced to three years in a labor camp for practicing Falun Gong, a Chinese cultivation practice.

Being suspected of wanting to stay in Germany by using the name of Falun Gong, Wuerzburg Administrative Court refused Mr. Jiang and his family's application, which was submitted with Falun Gong practitioners' verification of their identity. The German Falun Dafa Association reminded the German Government of the persecution situation against Falun Gong practitioners in China before the repatriation decision was made known. At present, the association is doing its utmost to rescue Jiang and his family back to Germany.

Subjected to surveillance and monitoring

The facts prove that this is undoubtedly a disaster for the family. According to information from the Falun Dafa Association, after four weeks of surveillance and 24-hour monitoring, Jiang Renzheng was arrested and taken to Benxi Labor Camp, where he was sentenced to hard labor for three years without any trial or legal consultations. Jiang Renzheng's parents also suffered pressure from the Chinese National Security Bureau. His wife Guo Rui and their children can't imagine what the future will be. Now they have to rely on their parents' help to survive because Guo Rui is not allowed to go out looking for a job; she is even forbidden to go to the labor camp to visit her husband. Guo Rui talked with Wuerzburg Falun Gong practitioners on the phone and told them, "We have lost all rights, and even freedom."

Application for refugee status repeatedly rejected

Mr. Jiang Renzheng and his wife Guo Rui came to Germany to study German in 2001 through legal channels. Since September 2004, they have been sentenced to be repatriated several times, but the proceedings were stopped due to the efforts of German Falun Dafa Association. Still, the whole family was finally repatriated in March 2005.

Falun Gong is a traditional cultivation practice. In addition to the exercises, practitioners also cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Falun Gong has been persecuted in China since 1999. This persecution leads to many people becoming destitute and homeless, workers lose their jobs, students are forced to discontinue schooling, women are forced into abortion and couples are forced to divorce.

According to information provided by the Falun Gong Information Centre, there have been more than 1583 practitioners persecuted to death in police stations and labor camps so far.

Falun Gong Practitioners Call on the Canadian Committee on Immigration to Help Victims and Orphans of the Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At noon on May 12, 2005, the Canadian Parliament's Committee on Immigration held a hearing to listen to testimonies, suggestions and comments from nongovernmental organizations and individuals, so as to adjust Canadian policy on immigration. Ms. Dai Gongyu represented the Canadian Falun Dafa Association in a detailed testimony. She hoped that the Canadian government would help Canadian citizens' or residents' family members who are persecuted in China, as well as orphans of Falun Gong practitioners who have died from the persecution and Falun Gong practitioners who are living outside of China but whose human rights are not ensured, to come to Canada.

Listening to witnesses

The persecution prevents Falun Gong practitioners from reuniting with their family members in Canada

Ms. Dai Gongyu introduced Falun Gong and the persecution in China. She said that 120 victims of persecution are now in Canada, among whom, 44 practitioners' family members are still illegally imprisoned in China. Some of them have been sentenced to as much as 10 years in prison. Ms. Dai said that a Toronto resident's daughter and son-in-law, both Falun Gong practitioners, were trying to come to Canada. During the process of applying for a visa to Canada, the son-in-law, Mr. Zhang Yiming, was unlawfully sentenced to 10 years in prison for upholding his belief in Falun Dafa. He is currently imprisoned in Beijiang Prison, Guangdong Province.

Ms. Dai Gongyu called upon the humanity and kindness of the Canadian Immigration Bureau, to consider allowing these victims of persecution to come to Canada and be reunited with their family members.

The persecution has severely harmed innocent children who have no ability to protect themselves

In discussing children in China who are affected by the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Dai continued, "Lin Huixuan, five years old, is the niece of a Canadian resident. Her parents and grandparents are subjected to persecution for not giving up their belief in Falun Gong. They have been repeatedly imprisoned. Her parents lost their jobs and the opportunity to continue their University studies. Her father, Mr. Lin Yanqing (postdoctoral fellow at Harbin Architectural University) has been imprisoned for years. At present, the whole family was forced to leave home because of the persecution, and they currently have no fixed place to stay. Her mother, Ms. Xu Lei has been released from detention, but because of the persecution, no one dares to hire her, because she could be re-arrested at any time. Lin Huixuan and her mother wish to be able to come to Canada.

Ms. Dai said that this persecution of Falun Gong has caused severe harm to innocent children who have no ability to protect themselves. Thousands of children whose parents have died from the persecution have no one to take care of them, or else they live with their single parent. Countless children have been driven out of their schools or imprisoned in jails or labor camps. The youngest child tortured to death was only 8 months old. Some of the child victims are practitioners themselves, while more children become victims of persecution simply because their parents practice Falun Gong.

Another case presented by Ms. Dai was a five-year-old girl, Zou Rongfa, who is a niece of a Canadian citizen. Her father, Mr. Zou Songtao, was tortured to death when she was only 11 months old. Her mother, Ms. Zhang Yunhe, was abducted by police officers and no one knows her whereabouts. Little Rongfa's grandmother died from grief at the plight of her family. Right now, Rongfa is living with her parents' friends. Rongfa is one of the thousands of persecuted children whose stories were collected in a report compiled by a nongovernmental organization. Dai Gongyu hopes that the Canadian government will help rescue these children and allow them to come to Canada.

Finally, Ms. Dai said that Canada is a world leader in the protection of human rights, a country that upholds the dignity of humanity. Over the past several years, the government and Prime Minister have allowed many persecuted Falun Gong practitioners to enter Canada. Ms. Dai hopes that the Canadian government can hold a formal hearing for those persecuted children who are family members of Canadian people. She hoped that the Committee will pass a motion based on kindness and humanity, to issue visas to the persecuted children in China.

MPs admire Falun Gong practitioners for presenting the evidence

Chairman of the Immigration Committee, MP Andrew Telegdi, mentioned the Falun Gong practitioners' petition when accepting an interview with this reporter. He said that he once lived in a country ruled by a communist dictatorship and he therefore understands the Falun Gong practitioners' requests. "These requests are reasonable and Canada should secure these requests."

Ms. Hedy Fry, MP and Secretary of the Parliament, admired the Falun Gong practitioners' points when she gave an interview with this reporter. She said that the persecution of Falun Gong is an important issue, one which Canada needs to address.

Ms. Fry said that Canada works with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). For urgent incidents, Canada is able to issue special (refugee) articles, for instance, the special (refugee) articles pertaining to the War in Kosovo, Vietnam, as well as the recent special articles pertaining to the Philippines. Based on humanity and kindness, with sufficient supporting evidence, Canada can take specific action. Therefore, Ms. Fry believes it is really important to provide solid evidence at these kinds of hearings.

Minister of Immigration: "If Canadian family members are willing to be sponsors, the Ministry of Immigration will help the child victims to immigrate to Canada"

When giving an interview with this reporter, MP Bill Siksay stated that the persecution of Falun Gong is real, and is a serious issue. They fully understand this. The persecution, documented by large amounts of evidence, is shocking. The Canadian government must persistently raise this issue to China, and this human rights issue must be resolved between governments. MP Siksay said that Canada cannot sacrifice human rights for economic trade. We should try our best to urge the Chinese government to improve its human rights record.

On February 18, Mr. Siksay wrote a letter to the Minister of Immigration regarding the issue of rescuing Falun Gong practitioners and orphans of practitioners. The Minister of Immigration, Joe Volpe, clearly pointed out in his response that if the child victim's close family members can be verified to be in Canada, and the family member is willing to take care of the child, the Canadian Immigration Bureau will help the child to immigrate to Canada.

Bulgaria: Zhuan Falun Published in Bulgarian (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net, May 19, 2005) Practitioners in Bulgaria marked World Falun Dafa Day with a press conference, announcing the official publication of the main text of Falun Dafa, Zhuan Falun, in the Bulgarian language (ISBN 954-91696-1-8). The practitioners talked to the press conference attendees about what Falun Dafa is and the benefits it has brought to millions of people.

One journalist asked questions about Falun Gong and the effects of the exercises. Another said that he wanted to help but still didn't understand why the practice was being persecuted. After hearing that Falun Gong is being unjustly persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party, the journalist signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. A practitioner also pointed out that Falun Gong has no political or commercial agenda, and that he was speaking out on behalf of those who do not have the right to speak and are treated brutally in China.

In order to publicize the practice of Falun Gong in Bulgaria, practitioners decided to donate one hundred and forty copies of Zhuan Falun to the public library system in the capital city of Sofia. Thus, many people can read them for free in towns and cities throughout the Sofia region. The publisher of the book is now responsible for distributing it around the country. The book has already been uploaded onto the website www.falun-bg.info.

Vancouver Practitioners Will Continue to Protest in Front of the Singapore Consulate

(Clearwisdom.net) Over the past several years, the Singapore government has followed the Chinese government and Jiang's regime in the persecution of Falun Gong that started July 20,1999. It treats Singapore practitioners completely differently than it did before the persecution began. The media has also copied the Chinese government's slanderous propaganda and never gives practitioners a chance to explain the truth. Practitioners' activities to clarify the truth are restricted, and on many occasions practitioners have been treated unfairly and even detained.

On April 27, 2005, the Singapore court charged practitioners Ms. Huang Caihua and Ms. Chen Lujin with eight crimes, including "illegal gathering without a permit" and "possessing and mailing VCD's without a permit." They were ordered to pay a large fine. After refusing to comply, they were put into prison despite the fact that Chen Jujin has a six-month-old baby at home.

At noon on May 3, Vancouver practitioners once again held a press conference in front of the Singapore consulate in Canada. They called on people to pay attention to the persecution of practitioners in Singapore. They also submitted a letter to the Singapore consulate asking the government to release two practitioners who had been on a hunger strike for six days. They urged the government to learn the truth about Falun Gong, reflect upon its previous mistakes, and choose a bright future for Singapore and its people.

The staff at the Singapore consulate and other people took the practitioners' flyers. Some offered help and others expressed the opinion that the Singapore government is not rational in its treatment of Falun Gong.

On May 4, the two practitioners were released after their families paid the fines. But the mistake the Singapore government has made has not been corrected. Therefore, Vancouver practitioners will still peacefully protest in front of the Singapore consulate. They are hoping that the Singapore government will correct its wrong decision.

Vancouver spokesperson Li Ying called on the Singapore government to make the right choice between upholding justice and following evil. She thinks that the government should not blindly follow the Chinese government for the sake of a temporary benefit at the expense of democracy and freedom. Such a move could be detrimental to the law of Singapore and its future.

According to An, who emigrated from Singapore before July 1999, Falun Gong activities were free and large-scale group practices did not need a permit. However, since the persecution started in China, Falun Gong activities in Singapore have been interfered with and even prohibited.

Turkey: "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" Photo Exhibit Held at Modern Art Center in Ankara (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) From May 7 to 12, practitioners held a "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" art exhibition at the renowned "Modern Art Center" in Ankara. The exhibition attracted many people. Below are some pictures of children who came to view the exhibition on May 7.

Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference Held Successfully in New Zealand (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 15, 2005, the New Zealand Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was held at the Crown Plaza in Auckland. Practitioners from Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch and Queenstown attended the conference, including veteran practitioners and those who are just learning the cultivation practice.

On either side of the stage, two large banners with verses from Hong Yin II hung vertically. At the opening ceremony in the morning, the hosts reviewed New Zealand practitioners' participation in various Fa-rectification activities during the past year and expressed their gratitude for Master's compassion.

During the Fa-conference, three practitioners led the audience in singing "Song of the Lotus Flower." Many young practitioners from all areas of NZ recited the poem "Falun Dafa Is Good." The audience applauded the children warmly.

About 20 practitioners shared their experiences in different aspects of cultivation.

¸ß¾«¶ÈͼƬ ¸ß¾«¶ÈͼƬ ¸ß¾«¶ÈͼƬ

Practitioners share their experiences

One western practitioner talked about his own progress in being honest and considerate. He said he also realized that these changes were just the beginning. An 81-year-old practitioner from Mainland China shared his experience of being brainwashed for so many years in the Communist Party culture. He said that renouncing the Party and clearing away its poisonous influence is a must-do for every practitioner from Mainland China.

One practitioner who obtained the Fa after the persecution started shared her heartfelt happiness at becoming a practitioner. She also told about the tests she has encountered in conforming to Dafa and how she has answered them. She talked about the beautiful feelings she experienced after she gave up stubborn mindsets. From clarifying the truth in Internet chat rooms, she has come to better understand Master's teaching of Compassion.

Another practitioner shared her understandings on the recent case of Hong Kong practitioners winning their appeal in the Supreme Court. She was on the blacklist and denied entry to Hong Kong. She talked about her understanding of Master's compassionate saving of sentient beings. Referring to other events such as "Article 23" and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party spreading in Hong Kong, she said she understood that winning the appeal was Master's benevolent settling of many issues.

Time passes quickly, and the one-day-long experience sharing soon ended. Finally, the hosts and everyone in the audience recited a poem to encourage each other to progress as one body on the path of Fa-rectification.

Taiwan: The Journey of Falun Dafa Photo Exhibition Held at Ilan University (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 12, 2005, the 79th anniversary of Ilan University was held. It rained throughout the day. Falun Gong practitioners in Ilan County set up a booth and demonstrated the exercises to introduce Dafa to students.

The Falun Dafa Club's booth was the first one near the entrance of the celebration site. Upon entering the gate, students would see the banner worded, "Falun Dafa." In the booth there were Falun Dafa introductory flyers and VCDs for visitors to read and take. Local practitioners also set up a photo exhibition entitled, "The Journey of Falun Dafa," which described the worldwide spread of Dafa, the persecution in China and practitioners' peaceful anti-persecution efforts.

Photo exhibition in the rain

The day-long anniversary celebration was held in the rain. Many students stopped in front of the photos to take a look, and many of them asked questions. The practitioners explained the facts of the persecution to students and told them that Falun Gong is popular in Taiwan for its marvelous health benefits. But in Mainland China, out of his personal jealousy of Falun Gong's popularity, former president Jiang Zemin initiated a brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Jiang's faction perpetuates the persecution with torture and lies; more than 2,200 practitioners have been tortured to death for persisting in their belief.

Several elderly practitioners wearing raincoats distributed truth-clarification materials. Because they had all benefited from the practice, they came to clarify the facts to people despite the rain.

Facts Revealing the Illegal and Inhumane Nature of the CCP's Forced Labor Camp System

(Clearwisdom.net)

Since its inception in 1957, China's Forced Labor Camp system has operated outside of the law, being used as a form of torture and punishment of innocent people. The validity of the forced labor camp system has been questioned and discussed extensively in the Chinese legal community in recent times, while for the last five years, forced labor camps have been utilized by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as its most potent tool of persecution against millions of innocent Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners have been illegally detained and tortured in the camps, suffering from inhumane treatment and the severe violation of their human rights. Jiang Guobois is a Falun Dafa practitioner and a former deputy county level bureaucrat in Weifang City, Shandong Province. We have documented his experience in the forced labor camp below as evidence of the injustices of this system and to expose its true nature to the public.

1. Detailing the Facts

Mr. Jiang Guobo is 42 years old, and a former deputy county level bureaucrat from the Political and Judicial Committee of Weifang City, Shandong Province. Before practicing Falun Dafa, he suffered from a severe kidney illness, which could not be cured even after extensive medical treatments. Yet in 1995 he regained his health when he learned Falun Dafa.

The persecution against Falun Gong began in full force on July 20, 1999. Jiang believed that as a government officer, he had a responsibility to report to higher governmental levels the benefits of Falun Dafa that he was aware of. He therefore went to Beijing on July 22, 1999. On arrival he heard some rumors and decided that he could be more effective if he returned to Weifang City. On the morning of July 23, Zhang Aijun, the Deputy CCP Secretary of the Political and Judicial Committee, called Jiang into work and detained him at the office for 6 days and nights.

On December 14, 1999, Jiang Guobo went to Beijing a second time with the intention of appealing at the Beijing Appeals Office. At that time the Appeals Office was not an appeals office; it had become a police station where Falun Gong practitioners who appealed were interrogated, arrested and taken back home. Weifang City police officers tore Jiang Guobo's appeal letter into pieces, arrested him and took him to the Weifang City Liaison Office stationed in Beijing. Just one hour later, Jiang Guobo was sent back to Weifang, where he was detained at the Kuiwen District Detention Center for a month. At the detention center, police officers forced him to walk over icy ground in the courtyard and kept him in a steel cage to torture him. After 31 days of detention, his family was forced to pay 5,000 yuan for his release.

In late June 2000, Jiang Guobo appealed a third time at the Beijing National Appeals Office. Police officers arrested him again. Jiang saw many Falun Dafa practitioners detained there, but he escaped. After returning home he was forced to write a self-criticism article at a meeting organized by his work unit. By this time his rank had already been reduced. He said at the meeting, "Appealing is a citizen's fundamental human right granted under the Chinese Constitution. Why should I say I did anything wrong?" Jiang knew from experience that the right to appeal had been taken away from Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang Zemin's regime; therefore, he decided to protest on Tiananmen Square. On October 6, 2000, he arrived at Tiananmen Square and began to do the Falun Gong exercises. Only seconds later, police officers surrounded him, punched and kicked him, and knocked him to the ground.

Jiang was detained at Beijing's Miyun Detention Center. Several days later, he was taken to Beijing's Weifang Liaison Office, and then back to Weifang City the next day. In Weifang, he was detained at the Kuiwen Police Station for two days and one night, and then at a detention center for another month. After another 21 days of detention he was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Just before he was admitted to the Changle Forced Labor Camp, a police officer said to him, "If you renounce Falun Gong now, we will take you home immediately." Jiang Guobo refused. Inside the camp, four police officers pinched his neck and twisted his arms in an effort to have him sign the guarantee statement. They ended up prying his left hand open and pressing his finger onto the statement.

Jiang Guobo simply practiced his right, granted under the Chinese Constitution, to appeal. For that, he was arrested, detained, insulted, tortured, and sent to a forced labor camp without a fair trial. This clearly exposes that police officers, controlled by the CCP, cruelly treated a decent law-abiding citizen.

2. Torture and Abuse at the Forced Labor Camp

The following is what Jiang Guobo told us:

"After I arrived at the Forced Labor Camp, I was assigned to Group 1 of the 2nd Brigade. Group 1 staff first performed a body search, and then police officers ordered some criminal detainees to torture me for a long period of time. They forced me to sit on the ground with my legs out straight in front of me and pull my toes with my hands. When I refused, they punched and kicked me. Later, they taped my hands to my toes with one inch wide tape. Sometimes, the criminals sat on my head or shoulders, or two of them stood on my knees. This torture caused my right knee to swell; the swelling did not subside for half a year.

Once, they bound me on to a bench and inserted objects between my thighs and the bench. After a period of time my legs felt as if they were broken. The pain was excruciating. Once they knew for certain that I would not renounce the practice, they bound my hands to my feet and said, "Whenever you are ready to renounce Falun Dafa, we will release you." I suffered piercing pain and was close to fainting. The sweat soaked my shirt. They tortured me like this for an entire day. My fingers turned blue. At 5 p.m. I told them, "My fingers have turned blue. If my hands become disabled, you will have to take full responsibility." They released me. My right hand's pinky and index fingers were numb for a long time, and I drifted in and out of consciousness for a period of time.

It was winter and cold in the labor camp. Seven to eight people stripped off my clothes and carried me to the bathroom. They bound me up and dunked me into a big tub full of water. They pushed my head under the water and scratched my back with a dirty toilet brush. Mostly, they kept me on the ground, and poured the cold water onto my head and body. At the same time, two people would fill my mouth and nose with water through two hoses rendering me unable to breathe. If I resisted, three or four of the inmates would push me down. Sometimes two of them would stand on one of my legs. They would torture me like this and then throw me into a storage room, naked on the concrete floor, and they kept the windows open for a few hours, so I would freeze from the cold air. Each torture session would last for over half an hour, and they repeated it more than ten times.

One time late at night, over ten criminals pressed my head down, and using plastic tubes they forced pressurized water into my mouth and nose, while several others poured water over my head. This torture was applied for a very long time. My mind was clear and I felt that I was on the verge of death. I deeply experienced the horror of a torture-death. While I was struggling, one of them stood on my knees and another stood on my feet. I pulled my leg away from under them as forcefully as I could muster. A chunk of flesh from my right ankle was ripped off by the brick on the floor. The wound was bleeding profusely. They stopped at that point and asked if I would continue to practice? I responded, "Yes, yes, yes!" Therefore, they tortured me until I fainted. I don't know how long I had been out. When I woke up, I found myself on the floor of the storage room. I could hear one person say "Be sure not to leave any visible injuries on his body."

Another night, after I had been tortured and was frozen for several hours in the bathroom, they put me into the storage room taped to a bed board, naked on the floor. I heard one of the criminals ask, "Should I fill him with urine?" Another one answered, "No, use what we have here." Then they poured three big bottles of unknown fluid through a tube into my mouth. The fluid was cold, dirty and bitter. While on the verge of death, I asked them, "Why would you torture me to death?" They answered, "We know you are a good person. But if we do not reform you, the police officers will punish us." Another one said, "Think about it, we would not torture a person like you without orders from the police officers. How else would we dare treat you like this?"

Ever since I arrived in the camp, I was rarely allowed to go to sleep before midnight. Once they did not allow me to sleep for four consecutive nights. When not being physically tortured, I was forced to watch TV programs, or read materials that defamed and slandered Falun Dafa.

After all their torture methods to make me renounce Falun Dafa had failed, police officer Liu Jianguang talked with me. I told him how I had been tortured. He pretended to be surprised and said he would punish the culprits. But after that they tortured me even more brutally.

At the forced labor camp, the police officers selected the cruelest criminal detainees to be group leaders. They did this to have them torture kind-hearted Dafa practitioners. Almost all of the 70 practitioners detained in the camp suffered tortures. The criminal who tortured me was one of the cruelest.

I witnessed the torture of other practitioners. One was practitioner Mr. Wang Ping, a former worker from Gaomi City. He spoke up when Wu Dajun and I were inhumanly tortured. Therefore, criminal detainees took off his pants and forced him to lie face down on the ground and whipped him with a triangular-shaped belt all over his body. I saw numerous cuts bleeding on his legs after the torture.

Mr. Cao Kecheng is a 66-year-old peasant from Changle County. He used to be the CCP secretary in his village. Since he did not renounce Falun Dafa, the criminals made him sit on the ground and hold his toes with his legs out straight. If he was unable to do it, he was beaten, or the criminals would sit on his shoulders, which injured his back. Soon he could no longer stand or sit straight.

Other practitioners were, Mr. Wu Dajun, a retired teacher in his 60s from Changyi City; Mr. Zhang Xi, a peasant from Anqiu City, also in his 60s; and Mr. Wei Guoqing and Mr. Hu Xinming. All of them were tortured brutally.

On December 17, 2000, police officer Zhu Weile, deputy leader of the 2nd Brigade, had doctor Jiang (in his 30s) inject me with unknown fluids. After two days of infusion, I experienced many symptoms, including swollen eyes, kidney pains, confusion and inability to sleep, among others. Because of my strong resistance, they stopped the injections, but the torture damaged me physically and mentally. On December 24, 2000, I was released on bail for medical treatment."

3. Today's Forced Labor Camp System Is the Most Treacherous of China's Illegal Practices

In 1957 the Chinese State Council issued a document called "Decision about the Forced Labor Camp Issue." This document was the directive for the establishment of China's forced labor camps. In 1982, the Chinese Police Ministry issued another document, "Temporary Methods for the Founding of the Forced Labor Camp System." The above two documents were created 48 years and 23 years ago respectively. The execution of these directives has now been fully revealed to the public. Their illegality and brutality have caused disruption to the true purpose of the Chinese legal system and wrought tremendous suffering to the Chinese population. Many Chinese from various legal circles have written letters to the CCP, the National People's Congress and the State Council, asking them to abandon the system. But, the CCP leaders have disregarded the letters and continue to use the forced labor camps extensively. Why has this happened? What's the true intention of the CCP?

First of all, the forced labor camp system is unconstitutional. It disregards basic guarantees comprising China's legal system, and its existence has corrupted the legal system. In the Chinese Constitution, Article 37, it states, "A citizen's personal freedoms are not to be violated. No one can be arrested without permission from the court or the procurator, and the arrest must be executed by the police. Illegal detention or depriving citizen's freedoms in any way are prohibited." Yet, in the forced labor system, a citizen can be detained without legal proceedings and without the right of appeal. When the decision to detain a Chinese citizen in a forced labor camp for three years (which could be extended for one more year) appears to have been handed down by the Forced Labor Camp Committee, in reality it is CCP officers or police officers who have made the decision. Article 8 of the Legislative Law states: "No law exists to punish citizens by depriving them of their political rights or other personal freedoms." Article 9 of the Administrative Penalty Law states: "Any penalty that deprives personal freedom must be administered by the law," and Article 10 states, "Penalties that that do not deprive personal freedom can be administered outside the law via administrative rules." The aforementioned two documents are clear in their intent. The forced labor camp system, established by the State Council and the Police Ministry, operates under administrative rules and not laws. The twisted reasoning then says "it is impossible to deprive citizens of his/her personal freedom via forced labor camps."

The forced labor camp system is not included as a permitted penalty under the "Administrative Penalty Law." Yet, today's forced labor camp rules can deprive citizen's personal freedoms at will for three or four years. No appeals are allowed either. Extensive procedures are in place according to the law, but the actual decisions are made by a handful of CCP officers, and there are no appeals granted. The forced labor camp is thus cruel and operates above the law.

This corrupt system can be practiced only in China, nowhere else. Isn't it unconstitutional? Since its inception the forced labor system has expanded its targets and torture methods continuously. Over time it has grown more and more illegal and brutal.

The CCP in practice detains anyone it wishes, whether they fit within the following so-called criteria or not. Article 9 of the document, "Temporary Methods for Executing the Forced Labor System" states: "The forced labor camp system targets residents in middle or larger cities who are in need of forced labor reform." It also applies to those from the countryside who have moved to the cities, areas along the railroads, big factories or mines. Any person who falls into the following categories can be detained in a forced labor camp. 1) Anybody who expresses ideas against the CCP or against socialism, (whose behavior is not considered to be of criminal nature). 2) Members of gangs, murderers, criminals who rape or set fires, but whose crimes are not considered serious enough for criminal trials. 3) Repeat violators of stealing, prostitution, swindling, or those with other anti-social behavior that cannot be considered as a criminal offense. 4) Anyone who instigates group fights, causes public unrest or is harassing people, but whose crimes are not considered to be of criminal nature. 5) Those with jobs but do not actually work, not following rules and interfering with production or work morale. 6) Those that instigate others to commit crimes deemed not serious enough to warrant punitive action under criminal law. Article 28 states, "The most effective way to deal with forced laborers is through political and educational reform to change the person's thinking." Article 29 states, "Political and educational reform should be guided by the socialist ideology and moral standards, so as to educate them to be polite, civilized and virtuous." Even though terms such as "anti-revolutionary," no longer appear in writing in the Constitution, most detainees held today in the forced labor camp fit none of the above six categories. In addition, the methods used in the forced labor camp are far from being "political and educational." Today's methods are inhumane tortures and slave labor.

Reading Jiang Guobo's experience at the Changle Forced Labor Camp clearly illustrates that the forced labor camps condone even murder as punishment. There is no rule of law, only the illusion of the law under the control of the CCP's "kangaroo court." In reality the forced labor camp system exists solely to persecute anyone the CCP does not like. Among nearly one million Falun Dafa practitioners who are currently detained, or have been previously detained in forced labor camps, not one falls within any of the aforementioned 6 categories. One million Dafa practitioners have been detained! It has not stopped. It continues without any legal procedure, or allowing any recourse or redress. Falun Dafa practitioners are detained, tortured, and forced into slave labor at labor camps throughout China. They are detained because they believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They are kind and upright, and have simply dared to tell the truth. Why should they be sent to forced labor camps?

4. Letter to the Leaders of China by Professor Hu Xindou

On November 9, 2003, Professor Hu Xindou from the Beijing Science and Technology University wrote a public letter entitled, "A Letter to the CCP Central, National Congress and State Council, Suggesting the Elimination of the Forced Labor System." In the letter he wrote, "The forced labor camp system could be called the number one mistake by the Chinese government. As of date, and according to incomplete statistics, there have been over 3.5 million people detained in forced labor camps. Among the detainees are many who have been persecuted for their beliefs. Cannot the great suffering of these people make us change our minds?"

Recently, the central government publicly prohibited prolonged detentions. Therefore, many local officers have ordered sentences of three years of forced labor without sufficient evidence. Some local police officers arrest the wrong people. To cover up their mistakes, they simply send the wrongly arrested people to forced labor camps. Some local officers send a group of people to forced labor camps whenever the central government orders a tight control situation, like during the National Holiday. In some areas, children under 16 years old are detained in forced labor camps. Some areas send mentally or physically disabled patients or pregnant women to forced labor camps. Some places send people who fall within the 6 categories to the camps. The cruelest reason is when some local officers use the forced labor camps to take revenge. They will send people they dislike, or those who have criticized them or appealed to the camp.

The key issue and biggest problem is that such detentions only need approval from one police officer; no legal procedures need to be followed. Among the people who are sent to forced labor camps are those who have revealed local corruption or met with journalists and talked about local problems in public. Maybe they have written an article criticizing a local project or said something to uphold justice. Often people are arrested by mistake.

The following cases were all reported by the media: From 1959 to 1960, at the Jiabiangou Forced Labor Camp, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, among over 3,000 "Anti-Revolutionists" about 2,000 died. Peasant Guo Yinguang from Hebei Province was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp and charged with "defaming major provincial leaders." The same happened to Cheng Weigao. Shenyang citizen Zhou Wei was sent to a forced labor camp for two years because he reported the corruption of Ma Xiangdong and others. The person who reported a well known corrupt police officer, Mu Suixin, was also sent to a forced labor camp. Shandong reporter He was sent to a forced labor camp for three years because he reported corruption cases. At the Huludao Forced Labor Camp, detainee Zhang Bing was tortured and beaten to death.

In an article called, "How Long Will the Forced Labor System Continue?" Lu Bei reported what he witnessed, "A detainee was in serious condition and had not eaten anything for days. His feet were swollen, he urinated and defecated in his bed and he called out in a weak voice for help. Police officers claimed that he was faking illness. One day some detainees said that the person was dying. Only then did a doctor examine him. After touching the person's pulse, the doctor said, 'He is fine and just pretending to be sick.' Ten minutes later, that person died."

Many incidents have been made public. There is now ample proof that the forced labor camp system has become a tool for depraved officers to commit bad deeds. Many upright local officers have expressed their discontent with the system. One local police officer said: "Even when pressured to do it, I still will not send even one person to a forced labor camp because it is too cruel. It has resulted in too many inhumane and repulsive incidents." Isn't this evidence enough for the central government to eliminate the system?" He also said, "The government's actions against the constitution are polluting the country. If they do not respect the constitution, who will? The consequences of this are disastrous. Unrest and social instability is on the rise."

Professor Hu Xindou's words come from deep in his heart. "Appealing against injustice, reporting corruption, being innocently drawn into controversy, or mistakenly arrested at will; all these could result in citizens being sent to forced labor camps--more broken families, and untimely deaths. Such tragedies should stop now! Facts, reason, and conscience tell me that if such an erroneous system is not discarded, there will be no peace for the masses. If nobody speaks out, finally there will come a day when true disaster hits and there will be no more chances to speak!" The Professor has yet to receive a response from the CCP leaders.

In 50 years, the forced labor camp system has displayed its many problems. CCP leaders are fully aware of the problems. They could have eliminated this system long ago, but they have not. The root cause is that the CCP needs such a horrible system to retain power. It is through this system that they hold reign over and threaten the Chinese people, yet no one dares to say the CCP is wicked. The CCP's very nature attracts violence. It needs violence to maintain power and control. China's Constitution is just a window dressing. They show it to the world and say that China has laws, and that CCP dictators are okay. Since it is so much easier to manipulate the forced labor camp system with its corruption than a real legal system that upholds justice, the forced labor system acts as a firewall for the CCP to forcefully suppress any potential opposition at an early stage so they never have to even consider changing their ways. How could one expect the CCP to get rid of it? Over the past 50 years, the CCP has heard enough complaints about the inhumanity and illegality of the system, but it did not abolish it. In fact it is reinforcing it in its current persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.

One way of understanding the CCP is to compare it to cancer, or a horrible tumor, attached to the Chinese people. How could you expect cancer to destroy itself? The CCP is expert in the ways of confusing people through misinterpretation of the concepts of "nation," "country," and the "Party." Each time when there is a new situation, the CCP cons the Chinese people with twisted logic, and forces them to accept it in order to sustain its semblance of legitimacy for itself.

Our only hope, I believe, is if all Chinese people can clearly recognize the evil nature of the CCP. This would naturally eliminate the forced labor system.

Commentary: Denouncing the Verdicts in Singapore - Authorities Suppress Human Rights

(Clearwisdom.net) Since the legal registration of the Singapore Falun Dafa Association, the organization has abided by the laws and decrees, voluntarily helped people learn the exercises to build up their health and keep fit, shared the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" and helped to promote high moral standards. Their efforts have been well received in the community.

In July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) headed by Jiang Zemin began to brutally suppress Falun Gong in China. The Singapore authorities have cooperated with the persecution in China and legally discriminated against the activities and members of this legally registered organization in Singapore. The Singapore police have used their powers to suppress and place restrictions on Falun Gong practitioners, including placing restrictions on practicing the Falun Gong exercises publicly, checking the ID's of practitioners' with no legal grounds for suspicion of criminal activities or violation of social order, refusing to grant permits for activities and even rejecting practitioners' applications for citizenship or permanent residence. They also confiscate Falun Gong materials at will. In comparison, the activities of people who practice yoga and other forms of exercises have not been subjected to the above actions. To me, it is apparent that Falun Gong practitioners have been discriminated against in Singapore for their "beliefs".

Before the persecution of Falun Gong in China, practitioners in Singapore held large-scale group exercises in public and international experience sharing conferences. The Singapore government never requested a permit for these activities. Singapore's unfair treatment of practitioners and their activities began when the CCP started its persecution of Falun Gong. The suppression of Falun Gong is a political decision by the Singapore government that continues to placate the CCP's political and economic influence. In recent years, the Singapore government has gone from bad to worse with regard to ignoring the civil rights of the Falun Gong practitioners. There are too many cases to mention them all here.

When the Singapore government decided to cooperate with the CCP to suppress Falun Gong, they used the easiest tool at their disposal. They used the arbitrary power the "law" gives the police in granting permits, licenses and certifications. There are numerous laws on safeguarding the "public order" in Singapore that have ambiguous definitions. These laws include miscellaneous offences, the public order and nuisance act, and the film act. All can be used by the government to restrict people from exercising their rights, such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and association, and freedom of belief. Yet, these rights are guaranteed by Articles 14 and 15 of the Singapore Constitution. The police can expand their arbitrary administrative power in applying these laws under the ambiguous definition of these laws and the administrative decrees. There are numerous administrative decrees that strictly restrict people's constitutional rights and make it legal to do so. It would seem that in practice, the Singapore government wantonly uses the "restrictions" to divest or reduce people's civil rights.

In May 2004, Singapore police charged two Singapore Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Ng Chye Huay and Ms. Cheng Lujin, with eight and seven counts respectively of "assembly with no permit," "possessing VCDs with no permit" and "mailing VCDs with no permit." After nearly a year of trial proceedings, the two were fined 24,000 and 20,000 Singapore dollars respectively on April 27, 2005. The practitioners refused to accept this verdict and filed an appeal. They were taken to Changyi Women's Prison at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. The court did not allow their friends to visit them nor would it allow the mother of a six-month old baby daughter to take her along for nursing. The families of the two practitioners paid the fines under intense pressure. The two practitioners were released on May 3, 2005. Their lawyer is filing an appeal on behalf of his clients.

The judge expressed clearly, in the 122 page verdict, that she had no need to consider the constitutional rights of the two accused, but to determine if the accused had obtained the permit "in accordance with the law" to assemble or to hand out VCDs. The verdict fails to explain why they treat the practice of Falun Gong exercises in public differently than other similar groups doing similar activities in public. Why is practicing Falun Gong in public considered "assembly" that needs a permit, while practicing "yoga" in public is not "assembly" and does not need a permit? Such double standards clearly show the injustice toward Falun Gong.

The prosecutor failed to provide effective evidence to show that the accused really held or handed out VCDs. Neither the prosecutor nor the police were able to agree on the legal basis of "assembly." The judge ignored this in her verdict. The verdict gives the police absolute power in deciding the criteria of a permit. It would seem the court hands over the constitutional rights of the people to the government and police. The police can decide which constitutional rights the people can or cannot exercise. Isn't this a totalitarian rule, disregarding the rule of law?.

It was regrettable to hear the judge state in court that, "This persecution is happening in China. It is about Chinese people and we are not interested. What happens in China has nothing to do with this case." Falun Gong practitioners sued Jiang Zemin's clique for its brutal persecution of Falun Gong in 30 countries, therefore it is a major international case. Even when the US Department of Justice tried to get judicial immunity for the accused, Jiang Zemin, the attorney began his arguments by emphasizing the United States' sympathy for Falun Gong and the US condemnation of the persecution. Even a justice department that seeks judicial immunity for the accused, expressed its understanding of the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP, which has been known to all for many years. The Singapore case includes the issue of handing out VCDs that "clarify the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong". We lodge a stern condemnation on the expression the Singapore court has made because it lacks respect for basic human rights and the verdict disregards people's civil rights.

When the Singapore court used the legal verdict to affirm that the government can willfully hold double or multiple standards and go beyond the limit of the interpretation of the law to deliver a verdict that is unfavorable to the accused, it was a disgrace to the law. A group of us are now appealing to the British Bar Association and the international human rights organizations of public trust to express our grave concern over the unjust verdict handed down by Singapore that deprives the practitioners of their basic human rights. We also hope these organizations will watch closely any new developments in this case. We believe that the international community has an obligation to safeguard justice, therefore, they should guard against countries outside the Chinese territory persecuting Falun Gong practitioners to gain favor with the CCP. We oppose any dictator persecuting the kind-hearted and peaceful people for their beliefs.

We warn the Singapore government not to join the CCP in the persecution of Falun Gong and ruin their future. Communism may soon collapse. "One country, two systems" is definitely not the free choice of the Singapore people. The Singapore government and its people have a historical opportunity in front of them, to choose good and justice or to go down in history as part of this evil persecution. The heavens are watching. So we hope Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and Mr. Lee Hsien Loong will choose well for their people and not ruin their future to please the CCP.

The People Awaken to the Truth

My Elder Brother's Discovery

(Clearwisdom.net) I went to my elder brother's home and talked with him about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and the matter of quitting the Party. My elder brother is a college instructor and a Party member. He read the materials I gave him and told me about an experience he had. As he watched his son write the Chinese character "I," he noticed that the bottom part of that character means to "look for." He realized that human beings should look for their true selves. It is thus no surprise that the book Zhuan Falun talks about "looking at the inner self." Moreover, in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York" Teacher said,

"So everything that has taken place in each of the periods in history, including recent human history, has been for the purpose of creating a culture for man, for today's mankind, so that it may understand the Fa." "Also, since what was established in China was a semi-divine culture, the form and sound of Chinese characters are interconnected with the cosmos."

My brother said that he told everyone about this discovery in a meeting at school about how the CCP tries to maintain its "superiority." He also talked about the Taoist theory of yin and yang, and the theory of energy channels from Chinese medicine. His speech led to a group discussion. The leader and several of his close colleagues came to talk with him, letting him know that such topics were not "appropriate." He really felt pressured. Not long after, however, the principle of the school was put in prison due to corruption, and my brother was elected to be the new leader. My brother said, "This is Providence. When such a great law comes to this world, it needs people to promote it and spread it. It needs people to introduce it to those around them. There are several retired professors in our college that are Falun Gong practitioners. I often see them talking with the current faculty's family members."

After listening to my elder brother's words, I felt happy for him. In the first place, I was fired by my work unit and had to leave a state finance job admired by everyone. I had to leave my husband and son. I worked with other practitioners to establish a material-production site. I spent all my savings on Dafa. At first, my elder brother did not understand. He thought I was crazy. He and my family members tried to talk to me. While he was trying his best to persuade me to give up the practice of Falun Gong, a miracle happened. In the center of our family room, there was a shining, rotating Falun as big as a pan lid. It stayed there for over half an hour. My family members were all surprised and came over to see it. Since then, my family has encouraged me to be careful for my safety. My brother also began to read the Falun Gong books.

From the very beginning, the leaders in my work unit cooperated with the police in persecuting me and ended up ruining my marriage. Finally, I was forced to leave my job. To avoid taking responsibility, my work unit dismissed me using the excuse that I was absent from work without reason. At that time, my family members went and talked with them. The supervisors said, "Do you think you can come and go as you please at a state job?" Half a year later, because a mid-level supervisor absconded with a huge sum of money, one of the former supervisors was dismissed from his post and another one was examined in isolation. As a result, what they said about me actually happened to them.

My brother said seriously, "Because of ignorance, one commits crimes and the result is that one ruins oneself."

Teacher said,

"Whatever human beings do, they're doing it to themselves. Persecuting Dafa disciples is in fact the persecutors persecuting themselves. That is something determined by the nature of the cosmos." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference")

This fact has already been clearly shown to be true. The Fa truly exists in the universe. The people of the world should look for their true selves and not rashly listen to or blindly believe in anything. They should return to the Great Law of the universe. Only then will they will be able to achieve true happiness and longevity and have a bright future.

Several Stories of People Who Have Learned the Truth and Benefited from Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net)

A Political and Legal Committee Secretary Understood the Truth and Now Practices Falun Dafa

There is a Political and Legal Committee secretary in an area of central China. At the beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong, he frequently coordinated with the 610 Office to threaten and disturb the practitioners and their families. One night, however, he suddenly became completely blind. The local practitioners kept clarifying the truth to him and later he came to understand that the bad deeds he had committed had brought him retribution. From then on, he stopped persecuting Dafa practitioners. After that, he suddenly regained his eyesight. He truly felt the power of Dafa and he has now begun to practice Falun Gong as well.

My Sister and Cousin Both Start to Practice Falun Dafa

I had a cousin who suffered from rheumatism for more than 20 years. She had taken a lot of medicines but her sickness did not get cured. In the past, I had told her that Falun Dafa is good, but she just did not believe it.

In July 2004, I went to see her. She was so sick that she was bedridden. So I clarified the truth to her again. I told her that since 1996 when I started to practice Falun Dafa, all the sicknesses that I suffered from had disappeared without a trace. I said, "You see, I am already sixty-one but I can still ride a bicycle for more than 20 miles."

As she listened to me, my sister sighed and said, "Falun Dafa is indeed miraculous! I also want to practice Falun Dafa - can I?" I said, "Yes - that's very good." Just like this, my cousin started to practice Falun Dafa. From that time forwards, she has been getting better each day. She can now carry out some of the housework. She tells everyone she meets, "Falun Dafa is good; it is Falun Dafa that saved my life."

I also have a sister who suffered from diabetes for about 5 years. I had also clarified the truth to her and advised her, "You should practice Falun Dafa; only Falun Dafa can help you." She took my advice and started to practice Falun Dafa. Now, all her sicknesses have been cured. She told others happily, "It is Master Li that saved me. Falun Dafa is great!"

    Practitioners Exchange Insights and Experiences

    Always Remember to Search Within

(Clearwisdom.net) Not long ago, a fellow practitioner was suffering from severe sickness karma, and was taken to a hospital. Many practitioners went to the hospital to express their concerns and understandings.

When I visited her the first time, all I wanted was to help her find her attachment so that she could get through the tribulation sooner. But I failed to remember this was interference arranged by the old forces. It not only interfered with this practitioner but with everyone who visited her in the hospital. As a result, I felt ill when I left the hospital. I went home and went to bed.

My righteous thoughts were a bit stronger on my second visit. But I still failed to treat myself as a cultivator who should look inside and strictly follow Master's teachings. Instead I was anxious to share with her my righteous thoughts and actions.

Another practitioner who came with me, while sending forth righteous thoughts at the hospital, saw this practitioner entangled with four snakes. Three of the snakes were small whitish ones, but the other one was a big black snake. Our Gong during sending forth righteous thoughts could not reach the four snakes and thus failed to eliminate them.

Later, when the practitioner shared with us what she had seen, I realized that the three small snakes were actually the attachments of the three practitioners who went to the hospital. We failed to remember that we are cultivators, and that we should always look inward and purify ourselves first whenever and whatever we see or encounter, before helping fellow practitioners with our strong Gong. Our sharing not only failed to help the fellow practitioner who was experiencing the tribulation, but also failed to eliminate the demons attached to that practitioner when sending forth righteous thoughts, even in close proximity.

In addition, the tribulation that the fellow practitioner encountered was not entirely due to her own attachment and lack of righteous thoughts. The old forces arranged the tribulation that way in order to test other practitioners. Practitioners in Taiwan have a better environment, without any direct persecution from the evil, and even practitioners with strong attachments can cultivate and participate in various projects that validate Dafa. Some practitioners who are not steadfast in Dafa might be shocked and shaken upon seeing such a severe tribulation of a veteran practitioner who has done pretty well in validating Dafa. Thus, if we are only thinking about how to help our fellow practitioner let go of his or her attachment or how to strengthen his or her righteous thoughts, aren't we actually acknowledging the old forces' evil arrangement?

Whenever a fellow practitioner has a tribulation, based on our kindness, we always want to lend a hand. But cultivation is a serious matter. If we fail to strictly follow Master's teaching at all times, our kindness stays only at the level of an ordinary person's care. The persecution and tribulation that our fellow practitioners are facing can't be solved by everyday people's kindness. We should cultivate ourselves well and look at things from the perspective of the Fa. Only then can we truly help our fellow practitioners using our kindness that is cultivated from the Fa.

How I Got Beyond a Long Period of Tribulations Caused by Karmic Illnesses

    (Clearwisdom.net)

I have noticed that there are some fascinating articles about karmic illnesses on Clearwisdom.net. I myself have considerable experience with this particular issue. Whenever I witnessed fellow practitioners being brought down or passing away as a result of such illnesses, I would feel an extreme bitterness in my heart. Here, I would like to share my own understandings and experiences of karmic illnesses with others who may encounter similar tribulations. I want everyone to know how eventually, assisted by extended periods of sending forth righteous thoughts, I overcame tribulations that had lasted nearly four years.

In 2000, when my baby was about to be born, I chose to have a cesarean delivery because I was so afraid of the pain of natural childbirth. My mind was filled with ordinary people's stories of terrible and excruciating experiences. I didn't treat myself as a practitioner, and had no righteous thoughts whatsoever. When anesthetic drugs from this cesarean delivery got into my body, I became trapped in a tribulation that would last for the next four years. What now seems even worse than the actual tribulation is the fact that I didn't enlighten to its cause any sooner.

It was in the year 1999 that evil forces appeared from everywhere to persecute Falun Gong. These forces started to systematically crush my physical body, and I didn't realize what was happening until 2004, when I began to cleanse my own body. At first just my vertebral column ached, but eventually the pain spread also to my waist, back and chest. Every day these pains made it almost unbearable for me to carry on. My physical body and mental state were caught together in a vicious negative cycle. Some time later, I gradually came across various new articles by Teacher. One article by a fellow practitioner touched me particularly; this practitioner described how she spent an hour or two every day just cleansing her own field by sending forth righteous thoughts, and how much better she felt after doing that. I learned from this article that sending forth righteous thoughts can last as long as necessary.

In March 2004, I finally started cleansing my own field by sending forth righteous thoughts. I held the strong determination in my mind that I must use the power of Falun Dafa to clear away any possible problems in my own physical body.

In my dreams, I could see things that were being cleared from my body, even though my third eye was not yet open. As my body was cleansed, I felt numerous veins in my body expand, and chunks of bad things felt like they were dissolving. Even though the pain was excruciating, I gritted my teeth and made it through. After more than two months of cleansing in certain localized areas, these bad things were eventually burnt away. The wonderful result notwithstanding, the cleansing process was extremely painful, and I withstood extreme pain throughout the entire process. Once this intense period subsided, my former difficulties with urination disappeared. Problems such as the frequent and urgent need to urinate disappeared along with the pains I had experienced while urinating. In the next stage, as I started cleansing my vertebral column, I sent forth righteous thoughts every single day. Each day the pains were horrible, but I refused to let that discourage me in the slightest. After the field around the vertebral column was cleaned out, I got in touch with the root cause of all my vertebral problems. Once again, the pain was nearly unbearable as I began to clean out the root cause, but eventually it felt like rectangular-shaped pieces of the substance were peeled off one bit at a time. In my dreams at this point, I saw a large upright snake actually taken out of my body.

The cleansing process has continued to the present moment. At this point, eighty percent of the evil forces surrounding my back and chest have been eliminated, and I am more determined than ever to totally eliminate all of the evil energies. If, at some future date, it is right for me to either stop or not spend as much time sending forth the righteous thoughts, I trust that Teacher will enlighten me.

From Clearwisdom articles I learned of fellow practitioners who were still doing truth-clarification work despite rapidly deteriorating physical health; some even passed away as a result. I admired such practitioners, but, at the same time, I felt a discomfort in my heart over this. My feeling is that we should no longer let the evil forces destroy our physical bodies, but that we should properly protect them in order to save more sentient beings. I hope my experiences can help particularly those who have been struggling with karmic illnesses for long periods of time to recover from their formidable ordeals so that they can have more time to put toward saving sentient beings.

Another point that I'd like to make is that we should not depend unduly on support from fellow practitioners who help us by sending forth righteous thoughts on our behalf. This support is only an external force; each of us must individually recognize that our most important support is that which comes from inside of us. Each of us needs to develop our self-reliance and decrease our dependency upon external support. May all practitioners who have been trapped in their tribulations learn to access the endless power of Dafa within, and to use your own steadfast resolve to overcome any challenges they may face.

Use Righteous Thoughts to Overcome Danger

(Clearwisdom.net) For more than a year following the publication of Teacher's article "Stop the Evil Acts With Righteous Thoughts," we often saw reports posted on the Minghui website (the Chinese version of Clearwisdom) of practitioners being arrested, subjected to inhuman persecution and even tortured to death. Practitioners all know that the Great Law is omnipotent. As long as ones' thoughts are righteous, sending forth righteous thoughts during a disastrous situation will allow Dafa's supernormal abilities to come forth and turn danger into safety. Could it be that the practitioners who face severe persecution for a long time have become psychologically submissive? In many situations, we should maintain and initiate passive control rather than submissively accept the evils' arrangement. We must free ourselves from their arrangement; we must stop the evil acts with righteous thoughts

In the year 2000 when I was first tortured and persecuted, although I did not provide any written "guarantee statements," I submissively endured all that happened to me. My words and actions did not firmly resist the persecution. I realized this was not right, and it has remained a lasting lesson in my memory. Since then, unless I want to clarify the truth, no matter who calls at my door, I will not open it. I control the entire situation. Smashing and breaking down the doors will not affect my thoughts! Quite a few practitioners were secretly followed by the police and arrested. I have begun sending forth-righteous thoughts whenever I leave my house, eliminating evil especially when clarifying the truth to validate the Fa. All these years, the effects have been particularly good. In 2001, the CCP sent their spies to secretly monitor my movements. With my strong righteous thoughts, they couldn't even see when I entered or left the house. They resorted to deflating the air in my bicycle tires to hinder my ability to go out and clarify the truth. They even stole my bicycle. So I used righteous thoughts to dictate that the person stealing my vehicle return it to me. Predictably, in a matter of days, the vehicle was returned.

My understanding of any persecution is that we should not recognize it from the very beginning. Whether by deeds or actions we must resolutely oppose the persecution. At the time of arrest, some practitioners hold the stair rail and refuse to cooperate. Superficially, the human aspect has done well. In reality, they were not using the supernormal ability bestowed on Dafa disciples to control the evil person. How could human methods be effective in overcoming evil? For this reason, during times of danger, one must send forth righteous thoughts. If one feels afraid for any reason, one must also realize that the fear does not come from oneself, and one must send forth righteous thoughts and continue to adjust one's point of view until one's divine side is awakened so the evil person will "...even be conquered by the righteous thoughts" ("Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003".) When evil people persecute us, our righteous thoughts should never cease. On the contrary, we must use this close proximity to our advantage to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil. Since the evil comes to seek us out, it's an opportunity to destroy and eliminate it. We must use these sudden situations to turn these defensive and submissive instances into passive control and eliminate the evil.

When police knocked on their doors, some practitioners immediately sent forth-righteous thoughts from inside their homes. It's mandatory to include the thoughts of saving the person who knocks on the door. The Minghui website articles reported that some practitioners were arrested when they opened their doors to the police. This is an indication that they did not handle this first hurdle well, because opening the doors to the evil amounted to surrendering to the evil.

"The crux of the matter is that you have attachments. If not, do not endure passively, and face the evil people with righteous thoughts at all times. No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil's demands, orders, or what it instigates. If everyone does this the environment won't be this way." (from "Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts Are Powerful", Essentials for Further Advancement II)

We all should listen to the teachings of our revered Teacher and not cooperate with the evil. Stirring up trouble by knocking on the doors of law-abiding citizens is definitely not a good thing. Why must we knowingly open the door for those that mean us harm? Isn't this accepting the evil's arrangement and allowing oneself to be persecuted?

I am thinking especially of those steadfast, outstanding practitioners who refused to budge under the relentless odds of the persecution and have already relinquished their attachment to life and death, but who actually neglected to use their righteous thoughts and their supernormal ability to command the evil person to leave. When some practitioners let go of life and death, they actually become submissive and erroneously accept the persecution, and some have been persecuted to death. These unfortunate occurrences are regrettable. At critical times, Dafa practitioners all have supernormal abilities, and they are protected and empowered by Master. They can also ask Master to help rescue them. Those that perform this test well will undoubtedly find hope and new direction, like discovering a new path while walking in a mountainous terrain. We are the main players in this human drama. Master endowed us with a special supernormal ability so that the evil cannot see us. It enables us to control the evil and to freeze their evil acts, because we control everything.

Since 2001, I can often feel the might of the Fa when I distribute Dafa materials. At crucial times, I often use righteous thoughts and supernormal abilities to control those that hinder me from producing truth clarification materials. As long as I think about what I want them to do, they will follow my instructions. Later, the righteous thoughts formula was released, which gave a boost to the Fa rectification progress. In the summer of 2001, I experienced tremendous success and a leap forward in my truth clarification and material distribution. I was not interfered with, and I felt the environment very relaxed and accommodating. I realized this was the result of maintaining strong righteous thoughts in this Fa rectification period. For this reason, I am writing this article to share and motivate fellow practitioners. Let us use our strong righteous thoughts to passively regain control during this dangerous time and diligently perform the three things required of Dafa disciples.

    Facts of the Persecution

Additional Information about Anshan Tanggou Middle School Teacher Mr. Wang Wenju, Who was Tortured to Death

    (Clearwisdom.net)

Mr. Wang Wenju was an English teacher at the Tanggou Middle School, Xiuyan County, Liaoning Province. He started practicing Falun Dafa in 2004. He was arrested when he discussed the truth about Falun Data in his class and was sentenced to three years in prison. The persecution continued after he was sent to Shenyang Prison on March 20, 2005. Later he was transferred to the Nanhuayuan Prison in Fushun City. In prison, he did not cooperate with the police who were persecuting him, so they beat him. He was sent to the hospital on April 25, 2005, and died as a result of the torture on April 27.

The inmates in his cell said that Mr. Wang was very steadfast in practicing Falun Dafa. He clarified the truth and promoted Dafa to everyone he met. In his cell, two prisoners became very clear about the truth and began to practice with Mr. Wang. His greatest concern was that other inmates and people everywhere know the truth that Falun Dafa practitioners are good people. The inmates expressed that how Mr. Wang was treated was unfair.

In order to prevent Mr. Wang from practicing and declaring that Falun Dafa is good, the police sealed his mouth with duct tape and made him wear leg shackles and handcuffs. Mr. Wang started a hunger fast to protest his imprisonment and how he was treated. He was violently force-fed many times and handcuffed with his arms raised such that he could neither stand nor squat. During the four months of his imprisonment in the Xiuyan Detention Center, he became very weak because of the persecution. The police didn't release him. Instead, they took the opportunity to extort money from his family many times, seeing that they were very eager to obtain his release. Without having a public trial, the court secretly tried Mr. Wang and sentenced him to three years in prison. At the end of March 2005, they sent him to the Shenyang Prison and continued his persecution. Later he was transferred to the Nanhuayuan Prison in Fushun City. He didn't cooperate with the police, so they beat him severely. He was sent to the hospital on April 25, 2005, and died from the torture on April 27.

When Mr. Wang's family rushed to the hospital, he had already succumbed to the torture and died. The hospital did not acknowledge any responsibility, saying that he died of gastric acid poisoning from his long-term fasting. The prison closed the case after paying a 2,000 yuan internment fee to the family.

After Repeated Arrests and Heavy Fines, Ms. Su Baoli Sent to a Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Su Baoli, 28, is a Dafa practitioner living in Lijia-gucheng Village, Wangjia-zhuangzi Township in Anqiu City, Shandong Province. The police recently again arrested her and her parents, Mr. Su Xiaoyou and Ms. Zhou Shufen, following searches of their homes. Although the police extorted 10,000 yuan from the family, Ms. Su was still kept in the police detention center for one month. The family had to borrow the 10,000 yuan from friends and relatives in order to pay it to the police. On April 15, 2005, she was transferred to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for continued persecution. Her pre-school child was left at home without a mother's care.

At the end of October 2001, Su Baoli's sister Su Baolan died as a result of the government's persecution. In the last several years, the police extorted at least 40,000 yuan from Ms. Su and her family.

Since July 20, 1999, Wangjia-zhuangzi Township policemen Han Fuben and Li Jingbo arrested Ms. Su Baoli several times. They tortured her at the police station. Later, Ms. Su went into exile to avoid additional police harassment. On October 28, 2002, while Ms. Su was living in a rented room in Anqiu City, Anqiu City Police officers Li Shenghua, Jia Zaijun and four others caught her and sent her to the Anqiu City Detention Center where she was detained for over 60 days. The police demanded that her family pay over 30,000 yuan. Her husband, a non-practitioner borrowed from all of their relatives and friends. Even that was not enough. Finally, he had to sell all their wheat to make up the fine.

In the spring of 2003, Ms. Su was arrested twice. On March 15, 2005, she was again arrested and detained. After they extorted another 10,000 yuan, they sent her to a forced labor camp, leaving a preschooler at home without a mother's care. It's hard to imagine how this family can live from now on.

Ms. Su's father Mr. Su Xiaoyou, in his 60's, lives in Xingshan Village. He was also detained for one month and the police extorted 3,000 yuan from him.

Her family wanted to see her; however, the police attempted to extort 100,000 Yuan from them to grant the visit. So far the family has not gotten permission for the visit because they don't have the money.

On the morning of April 25, 2005, Leng Yanlan, a female officer from the Political and Security Team in the Xiaonan Police Department, Xiaogan Area, Hubei Province, led a group of police officers to break into the home of practitioner Ms. Yin Yulan and ransack her home. They also attempted to arrest Ms. Yin. They misled her by telling her that they would send her to a hospital. Ms. Yin shouted loudly for help and refused to comply with the arrest. The officers, led by Leng Yanlan, were afraid that people in the vicinity would know of the arrest attempt, so they tried to cover Ms. Yin's mouth. Finally, the police stole some personal belongings and left.

Mr. Yang Maoming, Yin Yulan's second son, used to be a practitioner, but he was tortured to the point of a mental breakdown after the authorities from the "610 Office" arrested him and put him into a forced brainwashing facility at Tangxun Lake near Wuhan City Hongshan Prison. He lost his employment and was forced to divorce. He has not fully recovered, so his mother, Ms. Yin, takes care of him.

626 People Declare that their Words and Deeds Under Forced Brainwashing are Null and Void

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Here are some examples of the Solemn Declarations:
