By a Dafa Practitioner in Taiwan

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, Taiwan practitioners reached a consensus: We agreed that we should no longer have an attachment to the "Blue" or "Green" camp politically (favoring separation or unity from Mainland China), and that these attachments are a major obstacle to our Consummation. Previously a lot of fellow practitioners had such an attachment, and as a result it brought many difficulties to our truth clarification, and made people put the "green" label on us. Many practitioners thought that we neglected saving people with "blue" leanings, so they put the priority on the "blue" camp and tried their best to keep a distance from the "green" camp. They kept the former president Li Denghui's recommendation of the Nine Commentaries very low key, being afraid that people would put another label on the matter, adding difficulty to the salvation of the "blue" camp. I myself held this thought, as well.

Today I studied the following passage of the Fa in Teacher's lecture:

Question: Recently in our activities, we often interview ordinary people and various political parties and groups. Since they show support for Dafa, this is going to lead a lot of people to think we have political inclinations.

Teacher: What I think is, it's not a problem no matter what political party it is that supports us, because they're people first of all, they're beings to be saved, and you don't need to worry about what people with bad motives are going to say. What Dafa aims at is people's hearts, we don't aim at organizations, and it's fine for anybody to support Dafa. Whoever plays a positive role in regards to Dafa, that's good, that's them choosing their future. (Applause) We don't have political goals, and we don't look at organizations per se. We only look at people's hearts. ("Teaching the Fa at 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference")

So, why should we be afraid of what people with evil motives might say? We do not have political goals, we do not aspire for political power, and we are not involved in politics, so why should we be afraid of others accusing us of being political? For the same reason, since our purpose is to save all sentient beings, regardless of what party or what group they belong to, why should we be afraid of being labeled?

If we really see no difference among all sentient beings in our hearts, they will not have the difference of "blue" or "green" in our eyes, so we should recommend the Nine Commentaries to everyone we meet. Since we have some VIPs agreeing with and recommending the Nine Commentaries, shouldn't we push forward the influence of the articles through their influence on society? Is it relying too much on non-practitioners? No, it is our clarification of the truth that causes them to generate the righteous thoughts, and we Dafa disciples are actually taking the primary role in the matter. We don't pin our hopes on non-practitioners, but we provide the conditions for them to do good deeds. Should we be afraid of being tagged as political? As long as we don't have the inclination in politics, why should we worry about people with bad motives maligning us? We must not give up the chances to save more people simply because people with ill motives exist.

Here I quote two more passages from Teacher's Fa to share with fellow practitioners:

"Yet cultivation practice is to improve yourself: You are already able to abandon the attachment, so why not also abandon the fear of attachment, itself? Isn't abandonment without omission a higher sacrifice?" (Essentials for Further Advancement)

"So Dafa disciples should not be afraid, and they should handle everything in an upright and dignified way. It is the evil beings that are scared." In fact, [Dafa's] field not only helps Dafa disciples with what they are doing, it also encourages the world's people, builds up the courage of the Chinese people both inside and outside Mainland China, helps them to free themselves from the control of those evil factors, and has a positive effect on all fronts. So I hope you will do even better in the journey ahead, be upright and dignified, have stronger righteous thoughts, and do even better. ("Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Fa Conference")

In the above lectures, Teacher told us not to be afraid, and to save sentient beings in an upright and dignified way. Because we do not have any attachment to the "blue" and "green" camps, and understand clearly what we are doing, please let all of us promote the Nine Commentaries in an upright and dignified way!
