(Clearwisdom.net) Organized and planned by the Public Security Bureau in Jilin City, the Public Security Bureau's branches in Chuanying, Fengman, Changyi and Longtan, as well as their subordinate divisions, have repeatedly harassed and abducted many practitioners in Jilin City since mid-April. It appears that these activities had all been coordinated beforehand because they all followed the same pattern: the police first arrested the practitioners and then ransacked their homes. Some police officers forged false evidence against the practitioners to justify their arrests.

The police arrested practitioner Ms. Song Yaling on April 13, 2005. She has been incarcerated and subjected to persecution in Jilin City's No.3 Detention Center.

Ms. Song Yaling, 51 years old, is a schoolteacher at Jilin City's No.21 Middle School. She lives on the fifth floor of No.1 Small Community, Zhihe Street in the Chuanying District of Jilin City. Since Ms. Song started Falun Gong cultivation practice in 1995, all of her illnesses disappeared and her health was restored. She has lived by Falun Gong's principles of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance to become an increasingly better person. Because Ms. Song has persevered in Falun Gong cultivation practice, she was sentenced to one year in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, where she suffered from many types of cruel torture. After she was released, she returned to the No.21 Middle School and continued teaching.

Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Song Yaling

Around 10:00 a.m. on April 13, 2005, police officers from the Jilin City Public Security Bureau; from the Zhihe Police Station in Chuanying District, including Mr. Li Zheng, Mr. Shan Xin, Mr. Lu Ping; and from the Shahezi Police Station, including Mr. Xu Yanxin, came to Ms. Song's school in civilian clothes to avoid attracting attention and to conceal their crimes. First they went to see the school principal Ms. Zheng Yutao and then they arrested Ms. Song at school.

Next, they drove to Ms. Song's home. Police officers from the Zhihe Police Station, including Mr. Li Zheng, Mr. Shan Xin, and Mr. Yin Guojun, and police officers from the Shahezi Police Station, including Mr. Xu Yanxin and others, made Ms. Song unlock the door. They then forced their way in and ransacked her home. They made a complete mess and left nothing unturned. They also took Teacher's portraits, as well as a large collection of Falun Gong books and VCD's. Next they returned to Ms. Song's school and took some books from her office. They also confiscated her backpack, her cellular phone, and 512 yuan in cash.

The following four photographs were taken after police officers Li Zheng, Shan Xin, Yin Guojun, Xu Yanxin and their accomplices ransacked Mr. Song Yaling's home.

After the police took Mr. Song to the Zhihe Police Station to interrogate her, Ms. Song's family member rushed to the scene and questioned the police's authority to arrest an innocent civilian. The police tried to shift the responsibility to Jinlin City's Public Security Bureau. They claimed that they were told to arrest all the people on the list the bureau had provided and to ransack their homes.

Around 3:00 p.m., the police transferred Ms. Song to Jilin City Public Security Bureau's branch in Chuanying. Around 5:00 p.m., they transferred Ms. Song to the Jilin City No.3 Detention Center. Ms. Song's family kept questioning the police on what grounds they had arrested Ms. Song from the time they first arrived at the Zhihe Police Station, but the only reason they gave was that Ms. Song refused to renounce Falun Gong. Ms. Song's family demanded that the police either give them a legal reason for the arrest or release Ms. Song right away. They refused to get out of the police vehicle in order to make the police talk to them. Noticing that Ms. Song's family members refused to get out of the car, Li Zheng from the Zhihe Police Station was afraid that the unwanted attention might expose the police's illegal action, so he pulled them out of the car. As soon as he had pulled out Ms. Song's family members, the police closed the door immediately and transferred Ms. Song to the No.3 Detention Center.

In the morning on April 14, 2005, several of Ms. Song's younger family members went to the Zhihe Police Station to demand her release and to ask the police for the confiscated cellular phone and cash. The police refused to talk to them on the rather ridiculous grounds that, "The police don't talk to younger family members. The police will only talk to elderly family members."

They had no alternative but to get a taxi to go find an elderly relative. After much trouble, they finally found an available elderly relative, but this time Li Zheng made a vicious threat. He said that the police had found many Falun Gong VCD's and books at Ms. Song's home, which the police might consider as "evidence" to send her to a forced labor camp, and it would be wise not to "make any trouble." Another policeman, Shan Xin, pretended to be nice and lied to them, "We have been asked to sentence Ms. Song to three years in the forced labor camp. If you don't cause any trouble, perhaps we may be able to persuade the Jilin City Public Security Bureau to reduce the term to two years instead." When Ms. Song's family demanded the cash and items that the police had confiscated, Shan Xin tried to shift the responsibility and said that the Jilin City police had taken the cellular phone. As for the cash, Shan Xin said that he wouldn't return it to them. Another policeman named Yin Guojun said, "The Chuanying branch of the Jilin Public Security Bureau spent 30 yuan to take photographs of Song Yaling." He added, "We have also used a lot of gas in this police action. Besides, she also must pay for our meals during this action. We cannot return the cellular phone or the money to you."

Policemen Li Zheng and Lu Ping wanted to "produce evidence" so that they could escalate their persecution against Ms. Song. They asked the school principal Ms. Zheng Yutao and her colleague at school, Ms. Li Feng, to come to the police station where they interrogated them. Li Zheng told them, "Song Yaling is not qualified to teach politics at school because she often talks about Falun Gong in class."

Since Jiang Zemin started openly persecuting Falun Gong practitioners on July 20, 1999, the Zhihe Police Station in Jilin City has been a very active accomplice of Jiang Zemin. More than a dozen local practitioners have been sentenced to serve time in forced labor camps. Four practitioners, including Mr. Liu Mingke, Ms. Cui Zhengshu, Mr. Yu Linxin and Mr. Cui Zhongxuan, have been tortured to death. More practitioners have been subjected to illegal detention and financial extortions disguised as "fines." Their homes have been ransacked. Many have been forced to leave their homes and go into hiding in order to avoid further persecution.

Zhihe Police Station

Lately, the Zhihe Police Station, accompanied by the Jilin City Public Security Bureau, the 610 Office, and the Chuanying Branch of the Public Security Bureau, have illegally arrested many local practitioners. The Zhihe Police Station is notorious in Jilin City as a major persecutor of Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Lu Hong is a practitioner who lives in Beiningli Small Community, Chuanying District, Jilin City, Jilin Province. A few days ago the police also arrested him. The details of the police's crimes against him have yet to be investigated.

The police also arrested many other local practitioners. Their family members have been working tirelessly to demand that the police and other involved organizations release these practitioners.
