California: Falun Gong Seen at Multicultural Festival (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 30, 2005, a Multicultural Festival was held on the campus of California State University, Chico. The Falun Gong Club at the university took part in the celebration and once again brought the beauty of Falun Dafa to the local people. At the same time, more people got the chance to learn about the persecution experienced by Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The annual Multicultural Festival always attracts many people. Spectators can learn and enjoy the traditional cultures from different nationalities. Falun Gong, a practice that originated in China and spread all over the world, attracted people with predestined relationships. Two people learned the exercises on the spot. A number of people took the initiative to ask for introductory materials. Because of the local practitioners' efforts, many people had already learned about Falun Gong from positive angles. As soon as they found the practitioners' booth, they came over to sign the petition calling for an end to the persecution in China.

A lady from Taiwan told practitioners that she met a Falun Gong practitioner last year in Mainland China when she paid a visit there. The practitioner lent her a copy of the book Zhuan Falun, which allowed her to have an objective understanding about Falun Dafa. She has since wanted to learn more about Falun Dafa. She was quite surprised to find out that there was a practice site near her. She said that she would definitely come and learn the exercises.

Quite a number of tourists warmly greeted the practitioners as soon as they saw the practitioners. It turned out that many of them had some knowledge about Falun Gong before. A student from Korea said that he practiced Falun Gong for a while. When practitioners told him that there is a Falun Dafa website in Korean, he said that he visited that site before and he would make sure to continue the practice.

After signing the petition calling for an end to the persecution, a middle-aged lady asked what she could do to provide more help. When a young student saw the group practice by practitioners on Capitol Hill on the cover of a magazine, he was very excited and told everyone that he had witnessed it firsthand.

A man who is fond of Qigong and Chinese martial arts kept sighing and said that he really could not understand why the Chinese Communist regime would persecute Falun Gong. When practitioners presented him with an English version of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and talked about the history of the CCP, he suddenly seemed to understand things more clearly. He expressed that he applauded our efforts.

During the festival, practitioners also demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises, and their performance was warmly received. Many people came over to express their appreciation to the practitioners.

Shortly before, the University's student association passed a resolution to condemn the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong.
