Slovakia: People of Partizanske Show Support for Falun Gong Practitioners' Human Rights (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Partizanske is a small city in the middle of Slovakia. On Saturday April 30, 2005, quiet meditation music could be heard in the city's largest square. It came from a small group of Falun Gong practitioners from Bratislava who came to introduce the exercises of Falun Gong and raise awareness of the persecution happening in China.

People in Partizanske found it hard to believe that these popular exercises could be the target of persecution, even though the older generation could remember the harm caused by the communists in Slovakia. People advised us wholeheartedly to stay longer, because there was going to be a cultural event in the city that afternoon, where the question of human rights should be brought up.

One elderly woman told us, "I forgot my glasses, so I asked another lady to read out loud your flyer for me. After I heard the story, I came over to sign your petition. How could something like that happen? I feel really horrible about it."

A Falun Gong book was happily accepted by the local library. A small group of people showed an interest in a Falun Gong seminar, which was to take place the next day in the afternoon.
