We were forced to write a guarantee statement at the police department, organization, disciplinary inspection or other departments. Practitioners who refused to go were arrested from home by judicial, public security, or legal departments, and those who did not write guarantees were sent to detention centers. In order to avoid the persecution, I had to leave home. The county cadres compelled my husband to look for me and would not allow him to work. My husband could not bear the pressure, so he asked a relative of mine to pass on three options for me to choose. The first one was writing a "guarantee statement" to not practice Falun Gong, the second was sending me to the police department, and the third was divorce.

I said to myself, "This is the old forces' arrangement. I shall choose none of the three options. I'm doing nothing wrong by firmly practicing Falun Dafa, I should not be persecuted, nor can I lose my family." The evil could not move me at all with this trick, so they used another treacherous plan and intended to let my husband write it for me. I instantly realized that the evil wanted to harm my husband with this ruse, and I would by no means allow that. The main cadre from several departments and the county who participated in the persecution were also sentient beings that needed to be saved, so I wrote every one of them a letter with compassion and kindness. I clarified the truth to them and expressed my firm belief in Falun Dafa. The plot failed, and my husband was allowed to return to work.

After 5 a.m. on one morning in July 2002, more than ten policemen knocked on my door and intended to take me to the provincial brainwashing center. I steadfastly refused to cooperate and walked up to the roof of the second floor. Later the deputy secretary of the county Party Committee, the deputy head of the county, the chief prosecutor, and the director general of the Public Security Bureau also rushed into my home. At that time, many people were all around my house, in front of the police officers, the surrounding crowd and the county cadre. I clarified the truth, talked to them about the lesson of the Cultural Revolution, the persecution I had suffered since July 20 of 1999, how Dafa practitioners strive to be good people, and how Dafa has benefited me. I also told them that persecuting Dafa practitioners will be punished, to make sure they do not jeopardize their own lives and to be responsible to their wives and children.

Some police officers lowered their heads in shame, and some got into their cars and did not come out. One member of the county cadre said, "I am asking you to live in a hotel, and you can say whatever you want." I replied: "I am not going even if you give me a mountain of gold." I also asked them, "Have I violated the Constitution or the law, why do you hound me like this?" The director general of the Public Security Bureau said: "Who is forcing you?" I said: "What are so many of you doing at my home, then?" I took the opportunity to expose the illegal acts of police officers trying to arrest me from home and destroying my family property, and the director general did not say a word. Another cadre quickly told the police officers to leave. The director general said: "I promise not let them come to your home again." (That director general quit not long afterwards) Finally they walked away.

On that day, several fellow practitioners were arrested, and a few were taken to a brainwashing center. I felt very unhappy and decided to go and see the person in charge. But once this thought came up, my heartbeat quickened. I sent forth righteous thoughts to clear away the fear. Then one night when my thoughts and mind had become calm, and with two fellow practitioners sending righteous thoughts for me, I went to see that cadre with a heart for saving him. I calmly explained the purpose of my visit. The first thing was a request that the practitioners be released, and the second was for him not to harass me any more. I told him that I wanted to say a few things from my heart, but at first he did not let me talk. I said I came to see him because I trusted him and told him that he was also a victim. Finally he let me talk, so I spoke the truth to him, I told him that I was very clear about the persecution of people, including my family, in the previous "movements" undertaken by the CCP. Then I explained that I practiced Falun Dafa because I believed in its principles. I said that good fortune is not to have lots of money or to be a high ranking government official, but to have a healthy body and mind at peace. I told him how evil the brainwashing center is. When he did not believe it, I asked him to find out from the 610 Office personnel. Finally he smiled and walked out with me, but he got in front of me and walked quickly towards a car parked nearby. Only then did I realize that they had set up an ambush for me. I knew that he went to tell them not to touch me.

At the end of 2001, I was taken to a detention center. I had no fear at all, told people the facts wherever I went, did not cooperate with any of their requests and did not answer their questions. They fabricated evidence against me, intending to sentence me. I completely negated it and went on a hunger strike, but I was force-fed. Facing the seven or eight prisoners and the four or five policemen who participated in force-feeding me, I told them about the wonderfulness of Dafa and that it was not good for them to participate in persecuting Dafa practitioners. They quietly listened. During the force-feeding, the head of the detention center told them not to do it too much. I could tell that he did not feel good about what was happening. Afterwards a prisoner told me that he wanted to cry upon hearing what I was saying.

In order to get me to eat, some people tried to give me instant noodles with eggs, some tried persuading me with tears, and some fed me water with a spoon. I told them that I would eat anywhere else, but I would not eat a bite of food here, because I had not committed any crime. I was not moved, and besides sending forth righteous thoughts, I recited the Fa. I lay on concrete, but as soon as I recited the Fa or the formula for sending forth righteous thoughts, I felt wonderful, as if my whole body was floating in the air. I knew that Teacher was encouraging me, so I made my thoughts firm. I completely negated the arrangements that were not made by Teacher, as there is so much Dafa work waiting for me to do and so many sentient beings waiting to be saved. In this way, I returned home in an open and honorable way. Upon arriving home, I ate something after an eight-day hunger strike, went upstairs with no problems and took a shower. My family was surprised and happy, and they witnessed firsthand the miracle of Dafa.
