Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Commemorates the First Northampton County Falun Dafa Week [June 7, 2005]

the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania commemorated the first
Northampton County Falun Dafa Week and noted with pride that the practice of
Falun Dafa had inspired many families in the Commonwealth to live in greater
peace and many of its communities to embrace virtuous living. Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Congratulations In the Senate, June 7, 2005 Whereas, On June 6 through 12, 2005, the first
Northampton County Falun Dafa Week is being celebrated; and Whereas, An ancient form of the self-cultivation practice
of qigong, Falun Dafa, which is also known as Falun Gong, is a method of
refining one's body and mind through special exercises and meditation. It is a
traditional Chinese spiritual practice that consists of exercise, meditation and
teachings based on the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.
During a relatively short length of time, Falun Dafa has spread to an estimated
one hundred million people in more than sixty countries; and Whereas, People who subscribe to the tenets of Falun Dafa
are to be commended for their perseverance in maintaining a peaceful daily
lifestyle through the cultivation of their moral character according to the
principles taught by Falun Dafa's founder, Li Hongzhi. Now therefore, the Senate of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania commemorates the first Northampton County Falun Dafa Week; notes
with pride that the practice of Falun Dafa has inspired many families in this
Commonwealth to live in greater peace and many of its communities to embrace
virtuous living; And directs that a copy of this document, sponsored by
Senators Lisa M. Boscola, Patrick M. Browne and Robert C. Wonderling, be
transmitted to Wei Jane Chin and Dr. Keran Feng, Coordinators, Northampton
