Break Through Human Notions and Treasure Dafa with Rationality

(Clearwisdom.net) I once read a story about a practitioner. When this practitioner was detained at a forced labor camp, his mother came to visit him. The guard saw this and asked him intentionally, "Do you want Dafa or your mom?" This practitioner replied, "I want Dafa!" I very much understand practitioners' strong determination, yet I see that practitioners are still holding on to some very deep human notions about Dafa. This is a manifestation of why ordinary people have misunderstandings towards Dafa. These types of replies could easily lead ordinary people to think that Falun Dafa practitioners don't even care about their parents and that they are emotionless. It could therefore bring negative effects to Dafa.

People who raise questions like "Do you want Dafa or your mom?" have a hidden agenda and are using the question to trap the practitioner. These types of multiple-choice questions may seem "reasonable," but are in fact very unreasonable. It is the same as when someone who tries to hurt you asks you, "Should I cut off your hands or your feet?" This is standing entirely on the basis of the persecution. We are against the persecution and eliminating the evil. Why should we acknowledge the choices forced upon us by the evil? When we are faced with such questions, we should reject them from our hearts, and clearly point out their terrible nature.

I believe that the majority of our Dafa disciples have faced this kind of question at some point, and each of us has given our own replies. If today we are questioned with "Do you want Dafa or your family?" again, we should sincerely reply to them, "Dafa cultivation is my belief, and having one's own belief is a fundamental right. It's a part of my life. Practicing Dafa does not mean we would give up our families. Families are an important part of our existence in this world, and families and Dafa are not things on the same plane. They are like a person's four limbs and the food that a person depends on for survival, how can you give up either?"

Fa-rectification has reached the final stage, and Dafa disciples' understandings towards Dafa should no longer be limited to human notions. Every Dafa disciple's words and actions in this world will directly impact sentient beings' understandings towards Dafa. We are the hope of their salvation. We should strictly conduct ourselves according to Dafa's principles. This will be the path of cultivation that we leave to the people of the future.
