The Fellow Practitioners Around Me

By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I have read every issue of the "Minghui Weekly." Tears fill my eyes every time I read about fellow practitioners being brutally persecuted. Awe fills my heart every time I read about fellow practitioners' earth-shattering, heroic acts in validating the Fa. The practitioners around me also have many precious stories, and I would like to share a few.

Ms. Hua is over 50 years old. Before she learned the practice of Falun Dafa in 1995, she had many illnesses. After she began practicing, Ms. Hua's chronic diseases miraculously disappeared. She often says, "Falun Dafa saved me. Master Li gave me a second life." When the persecution began, Ms. Hua and her son, who is also a Falun Gong practitioner, went to Beijing to validate the Fa. They were detained for a month, after which they were sent back to their hometown, but the persecution continued. Local police have raided their house, destroyed Dafa books, and monitored their activities. The local residential committee also frequently harasses Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Hua's son was fired from his job at a factory for practicing Falun Dafa. Ms. Hua was not thwarted by these evil acts. She never compromised and has firmly walked her path of Fa-rectification. When she does not have printed truth-clarification materials, she makes them herself using colored paper, double-sided tape, and colored markers. She had made banners that say, "Falun Dafa is Good," "Falun Dafa is Righteous," and "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," and posted them on utility poles and walls. She has raised public awareness of the persecution in this way. If one of her banners is taken down, she replaces it the next day. Wherever she goes, whomever she meets, she always clarifies the truth to them. Whether in a supermarket, farmers market, beauty salon, or the neighborhood, she takes every opportunity to clarify the facts. Last August, the utility company installed power lines near her home. On a hot day, the workers were drenched with sweat. During their break, Ms. Hua brought tea and watermelon for them. Her kindness touched the workers, and she then clarified the facts to them.

Another practitioner who is in her seventies lost her husband two years ago. Her two sons and one daughter were laid off work. She lives by herself and tries to not create more burdens for her children. Her meager pension is only 300 yuan a month. In the winter, she gets frostbite on her face because she does not turn up the heat in order to save money. She has saved her money for validating the Fa. Whenever she finds out that we need more money to make truth-clarification materials, she donates 100 or 200 yuan. She often says, "I'm in my seventies. I feel that I can't do as good a job as the young practitioners when it comes to directly clarifying the facts and distributing truth-clarification materials. It's very important to save people now. I want to donate a little money to print truth-clarification materials."

Another elderly practitioner wrote a statement to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party immediately after reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party on the Epoch Times website. She submitted her statement to the local residential committee. She then became the center of attention. Seizing this opportunity, this practitioner explained the contents of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and revealed the evil nature of the Party. She also published her withdrawal on the Internet.

Some other practitioners have voluntarily coordinated Dafa-related work in the local area. Some have focused on distributing truth-clarification materials to far-away villages. Some have organized local Fa study groups. Some have helped others who were not diligent to step forward. These practitioners are often very busy and sleep only two or three hours a night.
