Having Steady Faith in Dafa Is the Basis of Being a Falun Dafa Practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently I made a detour from my correct cultivation path. The lesson I learned is that we need to have steady faith in Dafa. With the encouragement of my fellow practitioners, I have written down my experience in the hope that fellow practitioners can avoid the same mistake.

In the past I did not pay much attention to studying the Fa. I would often judge things using human thoughts and notions, the result being that I could not understand some issues and had doubts about Dafa. For example, I resisted the changes in some of the words in Zhuan Falun, because Master has said many times that Dafa is very serious. The words in Zhuan Falun were copied exactly from Master's lecture. How could we change the words in Zhuan Falun like a child playing? As another example, after reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, I thought it was too harsh. I knew that the CCP was terrible and evil, but does it really not have any positive attributes? It was too absolute. I thought it was getting involved in politics. I started with doubts about Dafa, which evolved into a mentality of resisting the Fa. Because I lost my only faith, I was very angry. I started to take medication when I did not feel well.

Later, with the help of practitioners, I started to look inwards. The reason for my problem was that I did not have steady faith in the Fa and could not understand the Fa based on the Fa. Humans are so insignificant within the immense universe, and a human's life is so short. What, truly, are a humans thoughts and notions? Actually, they are nothing. Everyone develops different thoughts and notions within different environments. When we first come to this human world, we are just like an empty glass; we have nothing in our minds. All through the human growth process, much degenerate matter is added to this glass, and a person develops thoughts, feelings and attachments. They do not belong to the person originally but are added after birth. These things are the various manifestations of this world's deluded matter. How can I use my human thoughts and notions, which are created based on degenerated matter, to understand the Fa? This is especially the case for the Mainland Chinese people, who all live under the CCP and are immersed in the party culture. Every cell of our bodies has elements of the CCP. Sometimes we do not even realize their existence. Even though I thought I used my own standards to judge everything, actually these standards were probably provided by the CCP.

Today we have obtained the Fa, and this chance is very valuable and precious. We should all treasure it. Dafa is very profound, and all of its principles cannot be understood by every disciple. If we cannot understand it, then we should study the Fa more and use Dafa as the standard to judge everything. We should have faith in the Fa unconditionally. Humans are lost in delusion and have many attachments. If we no longer have steady faith, we must have gotten onto the wrong path. When we do not understand the principles of the Fa from the standpoint of the Fa, perhaps the foundation of our faith is not strong and stable. Through studying the Fa, we will discover why we struggle with having a stable understanding. Having steady faith in Dafa is the basis of being a Falun Dafa practitioner.
