Follow One's Conscience to Save Oneself and Help Others

(Clearwisdom.net) Chen Yonglin, a senior Chinese diplomat at the Chinese consulate in Sydney, sought political asylum from the Australian government because he refused to continue to be a part of the persecution of Falun Gong. On June 4, he spoke to the media and the public on his reasons for breaking away from being a persecutor. He also announced that he and his wife had resigned from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Three days later, Hao Fengjun, a former policeman from Tianjin and an official with the 610 Office there, inspired by Chen's courage, announced his opposition to the persecution and disclosed details of tortures he witnessed. He stated that he did not want to follow the unjust policies adopted by the CCP to persecute Falun Gong.

Nearly six years after the CCP began using lies and violence to persecute Falun Gong, a Chinese diplomat in charge of persecuting overseas Falun Gong practitioners and a 610 Office official in charge of persecuting Falun Gong in mainland China announced at almost the same time their breaking away from being persecutors of Falun Gong. This prophesies the complete exposure of the CCP's persecution and the total disintegration of the evil specter.

Chen and Hao made brave choices based on their conscience. Although they suddenly turned from CCP officials to people who are faced with persecution, their conscience helped them overcome the fear of the evil CCP. Chen said, "When I arrived in Australia from China in 2001, I did not understand Falun Gong, so I strictly followed the Chinese government's policy to persecute Falun Gong. Now I regret the bad things I have done to Falun Gong practitioners." Hao said, "One day I received orders to go to Nankai Police Bureau with a female officer. When we arrived we saw that Sunti (a Falun Gong practitioner) was in the interrogation room. The person interrogating Sunti was the head of the second division of the 610 Office. At the time, he had about a foot and a half long iron bar in his hand. When we entered the interrogation room, the woman officer found that Sunti's back was all black and blue, and there were two cuts more than eight inches long. When I saw that sight, I knew I couldn't do this job."

Although there have been people with conscience resisting to join the CCP's persecution since it began, these public statements were the first time people who were persecutors spoke out in the international community to expose the persecution. This shows that Falun Dafa practitioners' firmness in the face of tremendous pressure and their consistent efforts to clarify the facts despite threats to personal safety have cleared away hatred and lies spread by the CCP. They have fundamentally disintegrated the evil. We can expect to see more and more cases like Chen Yonglin and Hao Fengjun. There will be a great wave of breaking away from the persecution, exposing the evil, and the whole Chinese nation's opposition to the persecution.

Similar to how Hao was encouraged by Chen's bravery, officials and staff at different levels of government, from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and other parts of the world, should encourage each other and do what they can to escape the evil CCP's control. They should refuse to continue taking part in the persecution of those good people who practice Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and should bravely expose the CCP's crimes. They will not only contribute to the early ending of this extremely evil persecution in human history, but also create a beautiful future for themselves.

No one will be pushed to a dead end simply because they refuse to persecute good people. All those who seek the light will receive brightness. We hope more people who have participated in the persecution can follow Chen and Hao's example, following their conscience to save themselves and help others.
