(Clearwisdom.net) After a five-day "Uncompromising Spirit" art exhibition was held at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), an unusual conflict between justice and coercion and discrimination happened at this university. The exhibition was a big success with linguist and campaigner for liberty, Michael Darby, renowned jurist Yuan Hongbin, a faculty member from the University of Sydney and Australian Chinese Artist Zhang Cuiying attending its opening ceremony. However, after the exhibition news was published at Minghui.ca and other Chinese language websites, it is understood the Chinese government placed pressure on the university over the Falun Dafa club's activities.

UTS has a lot international students, including many from Mainland China. Facing the possible loss of university assets and incoming Chinese students, the university adjusted the website to filter out all terms related to Falun Dafa.

Upon hearing this news, the Student Representative Council (SRC) passed a resolution, sent letters to the Registrar, the university Vice Chancellor and the local state member of parliament, asking why UTS would discriminate against the club?

The incident is in line with allegations by Chinese defector Chen Yonglin of a general pattern of harassment and monitoring of Australian Falun Gong practitioners by Chinese Government agents, and thus the Australian media outlets and public are very concerned with how the CCP has infiltrated Australia to harass local residents

After hearing the union and SRC's concerns, at a Vice Chancellor's meeting on June 20, UTS Vice Chancellor Ross Milbourne said that the university would uphold its principles and support Falun Dafa and other organizations' rights. It was decided to reinstate Falun Gong club's name on the University website though the university knew the consequences: the CCP could block the UTS website, resulting in loss of incoming Chinese students and university revenue.

The UTS has many student organizations, from culture, sports to meditation and religion. The Falun Dafa club is one of these and is listed at the website of the university Union. Besides offering free teaching on campus, the club also organized an "Uncompromising Spirit" art exhibition this past April with support from the university. Featuring paintings of practitioner artists, the exhibition presented UTS students and faculty the beauty brought to the artists by the practice and revealed the brutality of the ongoing persecution of innocent Falun Gong practitioners in China.

This exhibition attracted many students, especially Chinese international students. One student said: "In China, the government always lies to us. All media are owned by the CCP, and they have been spreading propaganda to turn public opinion against Falun Gong. We don't know anything about what the government has been doing under the table. We have only learned the truth of the persecution from this exhibition, fliers we received on streets and some local news reports. As we have learned the truth, we won't listen to the propaganda any more. I feel that this exhibition is very shocking."

Another Chinese international student said: "From what I have learned in China, Falun Gong has always been depicted to be very bad. However, if what is shown by the paintings is true, the persecution is too brutal."

Student Representative Council President Michelle Sparkes said there is continuing concern by the council about occasions of discrimination against the Falun Dafa meditation club, because of pressure from the Chinese Government. The latest episode was the deletion of the club and any mention of Falun Dafa from the Union website.

"[We] were aware it was because of the political pressure due to China's disapproval of the movement in China," said Ms Sparkes. The SRC passed a resolution, sent letters of condemnation to the Registrar, the university Vice Chancellor and the local state member of parliament.

Benjamin of the Falun Dafa Club said: "This incident is another example of how the CCP has been using commercial interests to pressure Australian society. The club thanks the university for resisting such pressure and upholding its principles despite its possible loss of revenue. The club also thanks the SRC and Student Union for their support."

(Clearwisdom.net) After the Falun Dafa group won Second Place in the Calgary Stampede Parade on July 8, 2005, some Falun Dafa practitioners from western Canada once again held a parade and a rally on July 9 in Calgary's Chinatown to display the beauty of Falun Dafa, expose the persecution that is happening in China, and call upon people to speak out to demand that the Chinese authorities to immediately stop the suppression of Falun Gong and cease spreading hate propaganda in Canada.

At 11:30 a.m. on July 9, more than 60 Falun Gong practitioners from Calgary, Vancouver, and Edmonton held a parade in Calgary's Chinatown.

Upon seeing the parade procession that was composed of beautifully designed banners, a graceful lotus flower dance performance, and the float and waist drum troupe marching in Chinatown, people could not help but stop to watch the parade and enjoy the peace and beauty. People were also happy to accept the practitioners' truth-clarification materials. Some repeatedly expressed their gratitude.

After the parade concluded, practitioners went to Prince's Island Park and held a rally at the gate. The theme of the rally was, "Stop the persecution and bring hate propagandists to justice." Practitioners also demonstrated Falun Gong exercises and re-enacted some torture methods used against fellow practitioners in China. Tourists had the chance to learn about Falun Dafa and the persecution that has been taking place in China. One after another, passersby expressed their support and signed the petition against Chinese officials spreading hate propaganda against Falun Gong in Canada.

As reported by several local media, Edmonton Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit against officials in the Chinese Consulate in Calgary for spreading hate propaganda against Falun Gong in Canada. Edmonton police has accepted the case, and the case has been submitted to the Canadian Department of Justice.

(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of July 2, 2005, the Falun Dafa Association of Japan and the plaintiff's attorney for the lawsuit filed with the Osaka Local Court against the chief perpetrator of the persecution of Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin and his accomplices, including Luo Gan, Li Lanqing, Xia Deren and the Chinese Embassy in Japan, held a seminar in Tokyo entitled "Stop the Genocide." About 100 Chinese and Japanese people attended.

During the seminar, the video "Trial of Jiang Zemin" and the fifth of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party by The Epoch Times were shown. Some plaintiffs narrated their suffering from torture in China, leading to lively discussion.

This lawsuit against a dictator from another country is the first of its kind in Japan's judicial circles. The plaintiff's attorney said that the purpose of the seminar was to introduce the lawsuit against Jiang to the judicial circle in Tokyo, and to all those paying attention to Chinese human rights, and to have more Japanese people learn about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s violation of human rights.

The attorney then explained the lawsuit process. Six months before the lawsuit, Falun Gong practitioners studying in Japan explained to him about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. He did a deep investigation and found that there were baseless slanderous articles on the Chinese Embassy's website. He said that anyone could find out the truth if they so desired. He thought that the libel case against the embassy could be filed. Victims in Japan could be witnesses, and thus the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and his three accomplices was filed. Also a total of 60 million Yen in compensatory damage was sought in the lawsuit.

A representative from the Falun Dafa Association of Japan gave a speech and introduced Falun Gong. He also explained facts about the Jiang faction's persecution of practitioners. He said, "So far, more than 2600 practitioners have been tortured to death in China and documented. More than 6000 practitioners were unlawfully sentenced to prison. More than 100,000 practitioners were unlawfully sent to forced labor camps. Several thousand practitioners were forcibly sent to mental hospitals. In addition, the CCP regime extends the persecution to overseas, such as by dispatching spies to conduct illegal acts."

A representative from the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice introduced the establishment process of the coalition. He pointed out that Jiang, being primarily responsible for the persecution, had been sued in 15 countries. The group of attorneys is composed of 35 lawyers from 35 countries. So far 47 lawsuits have been filed against Jiang and his 22 followers in the persecution. It is the largest international human rights lawsuit since World War II.

At the seminar, Ms. Yoko Kaneko narrated her suffering from torture. In May 2002, she was unlawfully sent to a forced labor camp for one and a half years for distributing truth-clarification flyers in Beijing. She was brutally tortured with various torture methods, and deprived of sleep for as long as over 20 days. In the labor camp, she was forced to perform slave labor making products from around 5:00 a.m. to around 10:00 p.m. daily. Her health deteriorated in this inhumane environment. Her blood pressure became high and she could not see during some days. She said she was lucky to return to Japan, thanks to help from the Japanese government, the Japanese people and all practitioners. She also expressed her appreciation.

Ms. Yoko Kaneko said, "The brutal persecution of practitioners in China is crueler now. So far more than 2649 practitioners have been tortured to death. Jiang initiated the persecution and is the chief persecutor. To end the persecution as early as possible, lawsuits against Jiang have been filed in 15 countries, including Japan. In representing practitioners being persecuted in China, I thank the lawyers in Japan. I'll work harder to help end the persecution."

The other victim, Ms. Fan Yue, said that she was imprisoned in the same detention center as Ms. Gao Rongrong, who was tortured to disfigurement and murdered. Ms. Fan was forced to sit on a 20 cm. long and 10 cm. wide (8 in. by 4 in.) stool for an extended period of time. In the Yaojia Detention Center, she did not have any freedom. Practitioners were given poor food. She said, "In Zhoushuizi Labor Camp, Dalian, guards tortured me and other practitioners. We were tortured with a method called "hang and beat." Police asked female inmates to tie, hang, and brutally beat us. They used chair backs to torture my private parts and ribbons to tie and hang me. They then pulled my legs apart and beat my private parts, palms and arches with a wooden club. They cursed me with dirty words and tortured me for nearly 30 minutes."

Ms. Fan said, "I am lucky to be alive and be here in Japan to have a normal life after the persecution and torture. There are still countless practitioners being persecuted more brutally. I encourage kind-hearted people in the world to raise righteous voices to help end this tragedy."

In the seminar, the host also read congratulatory letters from a Japan congressman, a professor and a former Japan government official.

(Clearwisdom.net) July 4 is Independence Day, and Americans all over the U.S. hold various activities to celebrate this important holiday. Among them, the Independence Day parades best represent the cultural diversity of the U.S. and people's celebration of democracy and freedom. Dallas practitioners recently participated in the Independence Day parade in Arlington, Texas. The practitioners' magnificent procession and peaceful and elegant demeanor were well-received by the public.

According to the parade organizers, the Arlington parade is the largest Independence Day parade in Texas. The 40^th Arlington parade had more than 150 groups participating and was more than 2 miles long. Besides tens of thousands spectators who lined up on the parade route, even more people watched and listened at home as local TV and radio stations broadcasted the parade live. Within one week, the parade will be broadcast several times again. Falun Gong was the only Chinese group in the parade. Their magnificent procession attracted both spectators and media's attention.

In the past several years, Dallas practitioners have participated in many Independence Day parades in nearby cities to showcase the beauty of Falun Dafa. As this Arlington parade was so big, practitioners decided to make an even better float to better display beauty of Falun Dafa. They started to prepare for the parade in the beginning of June.

However, at sunset on the day before the parade, while practitioners were about to start their decoration work on the float, the practitioner who went to pick up the trailer came back and told everyone that the company was already closed. It turned out that the scheduled pick-up time was after the closing time, and surprisingly the agent didn't tell the practitioners.

No one complained about anything, and practitioners who came to help with the decorations didn't leave, either. At that moment, some practitioners sent righteous thoughts, some called the rental company seeking possible solutions, and some drove out to look for an alternative trailer.

All of sudden, a practitioner saw a trailer parked at the roadside with dimensions almost identical to the one to be rented. The practitioner then called the owner with the contact information on the vehicle. She told the owner the situation and asked if the trailer could be borrowed for the parade. The owner said yes! The practitioner asked: "Do you trust me? Can you lend your trailer without seeing me in person?" The owner was laughing at the other end.

After obtaining permission to use this trailer, some practitioners, including children, started to decorate it. There was a lot of work to do and practitioners didn't leave until 10 p.m.

The surrounding of the trailer was decorated with red white and blue, the three colors of the American national flag; the top was covered with a green carpet, on which many lotus flowers were attached; on both sides of the float, 2 signs reading "Falun Dafa" were displayed. Several practitioners in yellow suites demonstrated the graceful Falun Gong exercises on the float.

After the parade, practitioners took photos of the float and truth-clarifying materials to the owner of the trailer to thank him and tell him about Falun Dafa. The owner was delighted and thanked the practitioners for the information.

Most local practitioners arranged their time to participate in this event. Several practitioners from Austin and San Antonio also came to join the parade.

Arlington has a relatively large Chinese community, and many Chinese were not surprised to see the practitioners' procession. Some also greeted practitioners, some exclaimed: "Falun Gong."

The practitioners' procession was led by three female practitioners who hoisted a "FALUN DAFA--Meditation for Mind and Body" banner. Then came a Tang drum troupe made up of 9 practitioners. After the drum troupe, there was a giant model of the book, Zhuan Falun and then came the float. The dance troupe of six female practitioners performed pure and graceful dances right after the float. At the end of the procession, several practitioners carried another giant "Falun Dafa-Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" banner.

Before the parade started, practitioners held a group practice in the parking lot where people from other groups could come to request materials.

A family of three came to participate in the parade. The couple said that they had not heard about Falun Gong. A practitioner then gave then a flier. The other member was an older lady. When she heard practitioner saying that they were doing Falun Gong exercises, she asked: "Can you go back to China now?" The practitioner was surprised, he asked: "It seems that you know what is happening in China and know about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong." The lady said that she learned the news from a newspaper. She said: "I don't know why China does such a terrible thing."

During the parade, the host introduced Falun Gong to the audience several times, saying that Falun Gong is a practice of mind and body and offers free workshops at the local library every month. Because the parade didn't allow flyer distribution, a lady who wanted to learn saved the "Falun Dafa" characters in her cell phone. Later, she talked with another practitioner and obtained a contact number. She said: "I want to learn Falun Gong."

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 4, northern California practitioners participated in Redwood City's annual Independence Day parade. Practitioners' grand procession, graceful dance and peaceful exercise demonstration received warm applause and acclaim. Touched by the practitioners' performance, many spectators couldn't help but follow the practitioners' movements.

The Redwood parade is the largest Independence Day parade in northern California, attracting about 300,000 spectators every year. Along the parade route, there were four parade introduction booths, each with a host who knew Falun Gong well because practitioners have participated in this event for five consecutive years and have received parade awards in the past.

When practitioners passed one introduction booth, the host said: "Now you see the Falun Gong group, which is so peaceful. We need meditation to calm down and release stress. I am so jealous of them. They also remind us how precious our freedom is, because this peaceful group, which lives by the principles 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,' is being persecuted in China. To learn Falun Gong, please visit www.falundafa.org."

When practitioners reached the last booth, the host said: "Here comes the Falun Gong group. Their costumes and dance are so beautiful and elegant, a perfect match for the spirit of the day. They apparently have made extensive preparations for this parade, and they are still so energetic. This year Redwood City is pleased to present this 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance' group, and we will welcome you back next year. Thank you."

The practitioners then started to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises in front of this last stage. All of a sudden, the noisy site became very quiet, and people gave their full attention to the graceful exercises. Several spectators exclaimed, "It is so beautiful!" Some started to copy the movements. A lady named Mary copied the movements and taught her son. She told a practitioner that practicing Falun Gong made her feel very comfortable.

(Clearwisdom.net) In the past month, information revealed by former Chinese officials and a diplomat raised great public concern over the persecution of Falun Gong. Taking this opportunity, practitioners in Canberra held several anti-torture exhibitions to expose the facts of the persecution and to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa. The result was very good. At the same time, practitioners noticed that many people still didn't know what Falun Gong is. Therefore, practitioners decided to hold a set of activities to promote Falun Gong and clarify the truth.

Practitioners first chose Queanbeyan, a small town in New South Wales (NSW) neighboring Canberra. With about 37,000 residents, it is one of the fastest growing cities in NSW. There were a set of procedures to get a permission to hold an event in the selected shopping center. With the practitioners' truth clarification, the manager soon approved the application and said that practitioners could distribute any materials they had.

On July 2, several practitioners came to the Queanbeyan shopping center. The practitioners' calligraphy demonstration and paper lotus folding activities attracted many people. The "Falun Gong Teaches Truthfulness Compassion and Tolerance" banner was very eye-catching, and the "Pudu" and "Jishi" music brought to the center a peaceful atmosphere. Following the exercise music, several practitioners in yellow suits demonstrated the exercises, forming a unique field in the center. Many people were attracted.

Some said that the practice was what they had been looking for, while others were outraged by CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong and the CCP' harassment of practitioners in Australia.

A little boy watched the practitioners' demonstration for a long time. He eventually started to learn the exercises. An elderly lady kissed a practitioner to express her sympathy and support. Another older gentleman watched practitioners for more than one hour in the morning and talked with practitioners. After he watched the practitioners' VCD at home, he came back to thank them for bringing this peaceful practice to Queanbeyan.

(Clearwisdom.net) In June 2005, the persecution deaths of 230 Falun Gong practitioners in China were verified. Since Jiang's regime began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, a total of 2,656 practitioners have been tortured to death and their deaths have been verified through civil channels.

Of the 230 torture deaths verified in June, 59 took place between January and May 2005, and 15 took place in June 2005. Sixty two percent of the practitioners tortured to death were women, and sixty three percent were over the age of 55. Additionally, according to preliminary statistics from the Minghui/Clearwisdom website, at least 271 practitioners died under the persecution between January and June 2005, and among them, 230 death cases were verified.

These 230 persecution deaths happened across 24 provinces, cities and autonomous regions. Of the victims, 43 practitioners were from Hebei Province, 26 from Jilin Province, 21 from Liaoning Province, 18 from Shandong Province, 18 from Heilongjiang Province, 16 from Sichuan Province, 13 from Henan Province, 13 from Jiangsu Province, 11 from Hunan Province, 9 from Hubei Province, 7 from Beijing, 5 from Xinjiang Autonomous Region, 5 from Gansu Province, 3 from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 3 from Guangdong Province, 3 from Guangxi Autonomic Region, 2 from Yunan Province, 2 from Jiangxi Province, 2 from Chongqing City, 1 from Anhui Province, 1 from Tianjin City, 1 from Shannxi Province, 1 Shanxi Province and 1 from Zhejiang Province. Another five cases could not be documented regarding the areas due to the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) information blockade.

These practitioners experienced savage physical torture and mental torment before they died.

This article focuses on two cases. The case of Gao Rongrong, former accountant at the Luxun Institute of Fine Arts, and the case of Han Junmiao, former director of the Recruiting Office of the Xiong County Education Bureau in Baoding City.

The 610 Office Murdered Ms. Gao Rongrong After Labor Camp Authorities Disfigured Her Face

Ms. Gao Rongrong was 37 years old and worked as an accountant at the Financial Division of Luxun Institute of Fine Arts in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. In July 2003, Gao Rongrong was arrested and sent to Longshan Forced Labor Camp. To try to force her to give up Falun Gong, Tang Yubao, deputy head of Division 2, and team leader Jiang Zhaohua, shocked Gao Rongrong with electric batons continuously for seven hours, starting from 3:00 p.m. on May 7, 2004. Gao Rongrong's face was severely disfigured. Her hair stuck to the bloody pus on her scorched skin. Her swollen face reduced her eyes to mere slits, and her mouth was also distorted from the swelling. Even the inmates from the same cell did not recognize her.q1q

On the evening of May 7, 2004, Gao Rongrong jumped out of the window of the guards' office on the second floor to avoid further persecution. She was later diagnosed with two fractures of her pelvis, her left leg was severely fractured, and the bone in her right heel was split.

Authorities from the labor camp sent her to Shenyang General Army Hospital and later transferred her to Shenyang City Police Hospital. On May 18, Gao Rongrong was sent to Ward 533 of the No. 2 Orthopedics Division, No. 1 Hospital, Affiliated with China Medical University.

After more than three months of abuse, on August 9, 2004, Gao Rongrong started to urinate blood. She could not eat or drink and was reduced to skin and bones. Her eyes were sunken. She could not close them and looked ghastly. The doctor said she could die any time and issued numerous critical condition notices. However, Shenyang City Judicial Bureau, the direct superior of Longshan Forced Labor Camp, refused to release her and told the doctor to perform emergency treatments if she lost consciousness and that she would not to be released, even if she died.

On October 5, 2004, several Falun Gong practitioners rescued Gao Rongrong from the hospital despite strict police surveillance.

After Gao Rongrong's facial disfigurement was exposed in the international community, many kind-hearted people expressed anger and concern. The involved Chinese government departments not only didn't prosecute those responsible for Gao Rongrong's torture, Luo Gan, the head of central 610 Office, personally arranged the retaliation against Gao Rongrong claiming, "This incident has caused too much stir in the international community." He ordered his subordinates to "take good care of her case." The Ministry of Public Security listed her escape as Top Priority Case No. 26. A Special Case Group was established at the Shenyang City Security Bureau, and the Shenyang City Judicial Bureau issued a "Notice for Assistance in Investigation." The Dafa practitioners who rescued Gao Rongrong, including Feng Gang, were arrested and they are currently being brutally tortured.

On March 6, 2005, Gao Rongrong was again arrested. This time the persecutors tried their best to make Gao Rongrong "disappear." Authorities at Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp, Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, the Judicial Department in Liaoning Province, Liaoning Province Labor Reeducation Bureau and persons from Luxun Institute of Fine Arts spoke along the same lines about Gao Rongrong as the government. No one mentioned her whereabouts or her true situation.

Gao Rongrong's parents went to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp numerous times and asked to meet with her. Su Jing, female head of the labor camp, lied and said Gao Rongrong wasn't there, and that the government was investigating her case and even she could not see Gao Rongrong. Later she changed her story and said, "Gao Rongrong is here and she is eating well. She is doing great!" Wang, another head of the labor camp, said to her parents on the fourth day of Gao Rongrong's hospitalization, "We never wanted to accept her to begin with. Those 'higher authorities' forced us to take her. It is up to them to decide whether you are allowed to visit her or if she is to be released."

Gao Rongrong's former work unit, the Luxun Institute of Fine Arts in Shenyang City, falsely claimed in a document issued in late March 2005 that Gao Rongrong had left China.

On June 6, 2005, Gao Rongrong was sent to the No. 1 Hospital affiliated with China Medical University for emergency treatment. The doctor who treated Gao Rongrong said, "She was in critical condition when she was brought here." On June 16, Gao Rongrong passed away at the age of 37, after suffering many tribulations.

According to witnesses, the hospital did not provide necessary treatment for Gao Rongrong and did not feed her. One of Gao Rongrong's relatives with some medical knowledge immediately pointed out that Gao Rongrong did not receive enough nutritional supplements, and those that were administered were not suitable for her condition. The relative concluded that Gao Rongrong suffered systemic failure from long-term malnutrition.

According to the doctor, a medical examination revealed abnormalities in Gao Rongrong's brain. He suspected the cause to be injection(s) of destructive drugs.

At around 9:00 a.m. on June 12, after having receiving a notice, Gao Rongrong's parents rushed to the hospital. They saw that Gao Rongrong was at death's door after being diagnosed with systemic failure. She had a very weak pulse, and was hooked up to an oxygen tank. She was skin and bones. She was unconscious and showed no reaction to external stimuli. The scars on her face from the electric shocking were still deep and startling. Even in such a condition, Gao Rongrong was monitored and guarded by about 20 people. They were so heartless that they even asked the doctor many times in the presence of Gao Rongrong's parents, "When is she going to die?"

Gao Rongrong's family asked Masanjia Labor Camp officials and the hospital officials for Gao Rongrong's medical records and profile, but their request was denied. Even several days before Gao Rongrong passed away, the persecutors began telling people in the local area that she had "committed suicide by hunger strike."

After Gao Rongrong died, the 610 Office and the police forbade her family from seeing her body, and forced them to agree to letting the police monitor and handle her body. They even tried to snatch receipts for the Agreement on Body Placement and the Notice on Body Entering/Exiting the Freezer, so they could cremate the body at Shenyang City Mortuary. Their fear of punishment and their intent to shirk responsibility for Gao Rongrong's death is very clear.

Ms. Han Junmiao was 53 years old and was the director of the Recruiting Office of the Education Bureau at Xiong County, Baoding City. Before she started practicing Falun Dafa she had several illnesses, such as heart disease, liver disease, swelling of the leg, and other conditions. These conditions disappeared after she began practicing Falun Gong. She benefited mentally and physically from the practice. She worked diligently, and was well liked and respected by her colleagues and superiors at her workplace. In 1998 the bathroom in the Education Bureau needed repair. Dirty water was everywhere in the hot summer, and nobody did anything about it. Han Junmiao took care of it all by herself and even paved the floor with bricks. In her position as Director of the Recruiting Office, she never accepted any bribes or took advantage of perks normally associated with her position.

In November 1999, officers from the Political and Security Section in the police department came to Han Junmiao's office. With the excuse that Ning Hongmao, the Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee, wanted to have a chat with her, they unlawfully detained her. Ten days later the Political and Security Section officials sent her to Baoding City Mental Hospital where four men held her down and injected her with a drug that attacks the central nervous system. The drug took effect and Han Junmiao couldn't sit or lie down. Ms. Han was so tortured for two weeks at the mental hospital and suffered severe mental and physical trauma.

Early in October 2000, Dong Aihua, Zhao Daping and Wang Jianjun from the Political and Security Section came to Han Junmiao's work place again and took her to a detention center. Her husband was not home at the time. Her youngest daughter was only ten years old and couldn't find her mother when she returned home from school. In November, Han Junmiao started a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. Approximately ten days later she was sentenced to three years of forced labor and sent to Baoding City Forced Labor Camp.

During the 12 days at Baoding Forced Labor Camp she was handcuffed for several nights to the staircase handrail. Dozens of policemen pushed her down to the floor and used electric batons to shock her, from the bottom of her feet to her lower back. They even put an electric baton into her mouth. They shocked her on the head and back. Ms. Han wasn't allowed to sleep and was forced to stand in water around the clock for four days. Nevertheless, the labor camp still couldn't shake Han Junmiao's belief in Dafa. She was then transferred to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

At Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp, she was again injected with drugs that harm the central nervous system, which for a while made her mentally incoherent. She was locked in an steel cage for ten days where she wasn't able to sit down or stand upright.

In December 2000, for refusing to write the so-called guarantee statement to give up practicing Falun Gong, Han Junmiao was sent to a huge, icy-cold, windowless warehouse. She was handcuffed to a steel ring affixed to the concrete floor, making her only able to squat. She couldn't sit or stand all day long and was deprived of sleep. Washing for personal hygiene was out of the question. A person being subjected to this kind of torture would experience numbness in the legs in a little over an hour and would be unable to bend over because of back pain. The second day of being handcuffed like this, Han Junmiao's hands and arms were severely swollen. She was handcuffed in this manner for approximately five days.

In or around July 2001 the weather was scorching hot. Han Junmiao was handcuffed in the yard under the blazing sun. She still couldn't stand or sit all day long, and was deprived of sleep. She was handcuffed like this for several days.

The police still could not make Han Junmiao change her mind about Dafa, even after she suffered all the tortures that the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp used on Dafa practitioners, including the tiger bench, force-feeding with hot pepper water, being force-fed with human feces, and the death bed. The guards took her out to the fields in the evening, to mercilessly beat her and to allow her to be bitten by snakes and vermin. Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp officials later transferred her to the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp to continue her persecution.

After she returned home when her labor camp term expired, Li Chengqun, the 610 Office head in Xiong County, ordered his subordinates to continue persecuting her physically. In October 2004, Li Chengqun sent agents to Han Junmiao's home to arrest her, and had her sent directly to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp. The labor camp refused to accept her because she was very weak. Li Chengqun then sent her to Xiong County Brainwashing Class where she underwent another period of cruel torture.

By this time Ms. Han had been tortured to the point of not being able to eat. She vomited every time she ate. Several days later Han Junmiao's 90-year-old mother went to visit her. When she saw her daughter's terrible condition, she begged the authorities to let her daughter go home. The anxious mother took out the only 300 yuan she had and gave it to a guard named Zhang Guoli. Reluctantly, they allowed Han Junmiao to leave. Even after Han Junmiao returned home, Li Chengqun from the 610 Office still refused to let up on the persecution. He sent people to continually watch her, and harassed and monitored her saying, "When she is able to stand up, we will send her to the labor camp again."

After Han Junmiao was released from the labor camp, she was not allowed to go back to her job. Since the family needed to send two children to school and her husband didn't make much money, they were having a difficult time financially. She petitioned several times to get her job back, but due to pressure from the 610 Office her request was ignored. In the spring of 2005, Han Junmiao started going to the office every day. Her boss didn't assign her any work, so she did general cleaning work. After two months her boss said they would discuss her salary issues with the 610 Office. The very next day, though, Li Chengqun and about eight men came to her house. They lied to her husband saying, "Baoding Forced Labor Camp called and will need to give Han Junmiao a physical examination." Ms. Han refused to go with them. Li then ordered several men to drag her away and put her into a vehicle. When they arrived at their destination, the labor camp refused to accept her. Li had to send her back home, and still had people watch her continually.

Han Junmiao's entire family could not live a normal life due to the continuous harassment and persecution. She was unable to practice and cultivate normally and was under great physical and mental distress. Her health deteriorated and she passed away early in the morning on May 6, 2005. She was 53 years old.

Every case is a debt of blood. Every case represents a rope that will eventually tie up the persecutor. Goodness will be rewarded and evildoing will reap its own peril. The day of reckoning for the CCP when it is held responsible for all the atrocities committed during its brutal persecution is imminent.

(Clearwisdom.net) Grandmother Geng lived in Minleyuan Garden, Jiawang District, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. She was well known in her neighborhood as a kind-hearted person. Because she and her children practiced Falun Gong and believed in its principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, the Chinese Communist Party has severely persecuted them during the past five years. One of them has been detained in a forced labor camp for a long time. Within the first 35 days of this year, Grandmother Geng and two of her family members were persecuted to death in succession. Less than a hundred days later, another two of her family members were jailed by local officials and the police.

Before the persecution began on July 20, 1999, three generations of the Geng family, more than ten people, practiced Falun Gong together. They enjoyed good health and a harmonious, joyful life.

Since July 20, 1999, local government officials have rampantly persecuted the Geng family. Their first target was Grandmother Geng's youngest son, Mr. Geng Huaipu.

In December 1999, Mr. Geng Huaipu was arrested by agents from the Jiawang District 610 Office and put into the Jiawang Detention Center. He was detained for a year before the court vindicated him and ordered him released. Yet, the 610 Office stayed above the law. Instead of setting Geng Huaipu free, they deliberately defied the court decision by sending him from the detention center to the Fangqiang Forced Labor Camp in Yancheng City, a place where Falun Gong practitioners are detained in large numbers. While there, Geng Huaipu told others about the physical torture inflicted on him by 610 Office agents and how labor camp guards abused practitioners who resisted the violent persecution.

One year of imprisonment and torture did not make Geng Huaipu give up his belief. After he was detained for a year at the forced labor camp, Geng Huaipu was sent to a brainwashing center in Suining. He refused to wear inmate clothing, do exercises required by the guards, or follow any of their orders. This angered the guards. They handcuffed Geng Huaipu's hands and hung him up in a tree for seven days. If Geng had agreed to wear inmate's clothes, they would have released him from the tree. But he did not give in.

The police finally gave up the idea of forcing him to quit Falun Gong. In the end, Geng Huaipu escaped from the brainwashing center using righteous thoughts. The local government officials sent out dozens of people, traveled several thousand miles, and spent hundreds of thousands of yuan trying to arrest him, but to no avail. Later, Geng Huaipu was arrested again by the police while he was posting truth-clarification materials. He was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp and is now detained in the Nanhu Forced Labor Camp in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province.

Because Geng Huaipu had escaped from the brainwashing center, the local government officials doubled their efforts in persecuting Geng's family. They first put Grandmother Geng's eldest daughter, Geng Huaishu, and her daughter-in-law, Shi Zhongling, into the Luzhuang Brainwashing Center in Jiawang District. One year later, they transferred them to the brainwashing center in Suining. Grandmother Geng's eldest son, Geng Huaiqing, and her other daughter-in-law, Yang Shuhua, were arrested by 610 Office agents. Public security officers at the Xuzhou Mine Corp., where the two had worked, then subjected them to brainwashing sessions for six months.

Grandmother Geng's second son, Geng Huaihao, was not sent to brainwashing sessions because he had very poor eyesight. However, the 610 Office still harassed him and kept him under surveillance for several months. In the past, Geng Huaihao's wife and younger brother, Geng Huaipu, took care of him. Geng Huaipu was imprisoned and has not been home for five years. Geng Huaihao, missing his younger brother and threatened by the 610 Office agents many times, lived his life in fear. This severely damaged his health, and he died in February 2005. In his last moments, Geng Huaihao still called his younger brother's name. The Geng family asked the police to release Geng Huaipu for his brother's funeral, but Fan Shuyou, head of the local 610 Office, turned them down.

Grandmother Geng's household was frequently harassed, as much as several times a week. The community office, the security office, the state security agency, the police department branch, the local 610 Office in Jiawang District, and the local police station all sent people to harass them. They ransacked Geng's home numerous times. Grandmother Geng, after her children were arrested one after the other, went to the 610 Office to ask for her children's release. Each time she was either kept outside the door or stopped by the local government officials and policemen. The lonely grandmother had to endure the persecution and the economic pressure all by herself. She had suffered from the persecution of her sons, daughter, daughters-in-law and other family members, the ransacking of her home, harassment and threats. Alone, subjected to a state terror by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the grandmother finally collapsed and passed away in March 2005.

Grandmother Geng's eldest daughter-in-law, Shi Zhongling, was tortured to death at the Suining County Brainwashing Center of Xuzhou City and died on March 22, 2005. Before her death, she was sent to a hospital and diagnosed as having two broken ribs, dislocated shoulders and numerous other injuries, including internal bleeding.

Thus, a large family full of kindness and harmony, an honest grandmother and her children, who all believed in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, were persecuted by the CCP in the name of the state for five years. Even so, the remaining Geng family members still try their best to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to those who are still deceived by the CCP.

When Grandmother Geng passed away, her family asked the 610 Office to allow Geng Huaipu to attend the funeral and pay his last respects to his mother. Still, Fan Shuyou, head of the local 610 Office, refused their request and did not permit Geng Huaipu to attend.

Within 35 days, Grandmother Geng, her second son, and her eldest daughter-in-law died one after the other due to the persecution. Three grandchildren in the family became orphans.

Before the Geng family could wipe away their tears, another round of persecution began. In less than one hundred days after the funerals, local 610 Office agents, headed by Fan Shuyou, and under the direction of the 610 Office in Jiangsu Province, deceived Grandmother Geng's eldest son Geng Huaiqing, and daughter-in-law Yang Shuhua into going to a brainwashing center run by the provincial 610 Office.

Good will be rewarded with good and evil will receive karmic retribution. To those who persecute good people: Do not desert morality and justice in exchange for a tiny benefit. You are cutting off your paths to the future.

(Clearwisdom.net) This is a small portion of the suffering I've experienced over the past five years. I was arrested and held at a mental hospital for more than 30 days. During that period of time I suffered a mental collapse as a result of the drugs they administered, and lost the ability to control myself. I was physically injured and mentally affected. Later, I was gradually restored to health with the patient help of other Falun Dafa practitioners.

In March 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal in accordance with the law and was forcefully escorted to the Hongshan Number 5 Mental Hospital by local policemen and township government officials.

At the time several Dafa practitioners were already being detained at the mental hospital. We clarified the truth to the doctors, telling them that we were Falun Gong practitioners, not mental patients. However, these so-called doctors said, "Going to Beijing is a symptom of mental illness." They refused to listen to us and gave us injections every day that caused damage to the central nervous system.

The mental hospital didn't allow Falun Gong practitioners to congregate, not even in the restroom. Whenever the head nurse saw two practitioners together, she'd viciously say, "It seems to me that you want to receive some treatment (referring to high voltage electric shock)." She would drag practitioners away and give them electric shocks without listening to their explanations. The practitioners' blood-curdling screams were heart breaking.

After about 20 days, I began to have problems seeing clearly, I had no sense of hunger or thirst, and my memory began to fade. My family and village government officials noticed these symptoms and were worried, so they went to the hospital to request my release. The hospital staff refused the request. Finally, they found an influential person to help arrange my discharge. The hospital released me only after I'd been illegally detained for 30 days and my family paid 3,000 yuan in extortion money.

The day after I returned home, I struggled to go up the mountain to help my family plant trees. That evening I began to tremble; I was terribly upset and felt uneasy. When the practitioners who'd come to see me saw me trembling, they offered to practice the exercises with me. After a few minutes, however, I couldn't continue due to my uneasiness. I had to get out. My mental state was changing from clear-headed to disoriented and then from disoriented to clear-headed. Whenever I saw a well I wanted to jump in, but later I'd decide not to jump. When I became too uncomfortable I wanted to die again, but after awhile I would remember that it is a sin to commit suicide. In this state of near-insanity, I drank a big bottle of rat poison. I writhed in pain for four hours before my family realized what was going on and sent me to the hospital.

When my husband realized I was seriously ill, he phoned my son to ask him to come visit me. It was his colleagues who received the call. They confirmed that he'd run away in June and there'd been no news of him since. Because my husband missed our son and I'd spent our savings treating my illnesses, he often became so angry with me that he beat me or verbally abused me.

Due to losing my ability to practice, and suffering intense pain as well as missing my son, I was bathed in tears all day long. The feeling was beyond description. I believed there was no way to save myself but to practice Dafa. However, I couldn't do it myself, so I discussed it with my husband (since the persecution started in July 20, 1999, he wouldn't allow me to contact other practitioners). He said, "Whatever you decide is fine with me as long as you don't spend any more money."

I asked fellow practitioners to help me. They read the Fa to me. However, I would want to run away after less than 20 minutes. They patiently stopped me again and again, and with the mighty power of Dafa I was able to calm down before long. I would fall asleep for a while after studying the Fa for a period of time. When I woke up I would continue to study. Day in and day out, practitioners were with me for more than 30 days before I was able to study the Fa and practice the exercises by myself.

From then on, no matter how difficult it was, I would persist in studying and reciting the Fa, and practicing the exercises. My health improved day by day. In less than six months Teacher had snatched me from the jaws of death. Ever since then, I've had only one thought, that even if heaven falls down and the earth splits open, I will steadfastly cultivate Dafa. With the compassionate care of Teacher and firm belief in Dafa, I'm able to walk the path of Fa-rectification to this day. I am so grateful to Teacher and Dafa.

More than 30 Falun Dafa practitioners are currently still imprisoned in the Baoding Gaoyang Labor Camp. The camp officials accept prisoners who are terminally ill, and refuse to release those who cannot even tend to their own basic daily needs.

Ms. Chen Aihong, 53 years old, is a practitioner from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. When she was sent to the labor camp on March 15, 2005, she was diagnosed with heart problems, but the labor camp ignored the diagnosis and accepted her into the camp anyway. Ms. Chen has since been found to have severe blood shortage in her heart and has not been able to tend to her own daily necessities. To date, she has been bedridden with her illness for three months.

Ms. Zhao Shuying, 38 years old, is a practitioner from Xihe Village, Xiheying Town, Wei County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She frequently trips and falls down when she walks, and has a spasm when she gets up. The Gaoyang Labor Camp doctors diagnosed her with a neck bone protrusion that has overstressed the nerves in her brain. She has been bedridden for the past two months, and is unable to tend to her basic daily activities. Many practitioners imprisoned at the Baoding Gaoyang Labor Camp are in similar situations.

Appellant Li Rong proposed an appeal for An Senbiao, who was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp.

1) Revoke the sentence given to An Senbiao and release him, declaring him not guilty.

Mr. An Senbiao, 38 years old, is a staff member of Daqing 2^nd Oil-Extracting Factory. When he went to the former Shengli local police station (now it belongs to Daqing City Public Security Babaixiang Sub-Bureau) to clarify the truth on January 24, 2005, he was arrested by the police there. Policeman Liu Yanqing, with another officer, the Experimental Brigade Party Secretary of the 2^ndOil-Extracting factory E Jintai, and Squad Secretary Wang Xizhong, took An Senbiao's house key from his person. Then they illegally ransacked his home.

An Senbiao was first imprisoned in the Daqing City Longfeng Detention Center. Wearing foot shackles, he was held in a small cell to be persecuted for more than a month. He was moved to the 2nd brigade of the Daqing Labor Camp at the beginning of March. An Senbiao started a hunger strike to protest his illegal imprisonment. He was punitively force fed twice a day, which seriously damaged him physically. On March 15, An Senbiao and two other Dafa disciples were sent to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp, where their mistreatment was intensified.

In the process of An Senbiao's arrest, imprisonment and persecution, related departments and personnel violated the Code No.238 of China's Criminal Law: illegally detained innocent citizens; No.243: lodged false accusations and charges against innocent citizens; No.245: illegally searched citizens and ransacked their homes; No.251: illegally deprived citizens of the rights of belief; No.397: abused the power of duty; No.399: perverted the law to serve self interest. They must bear the legal consequences.

An Senbiao has been on a hunger strike for half a year, protesting abuse since his arrest. He was once in coma. Now he is emaciated. He is unable to move even a little bit while lying on a bed, and he has experienced kidney failure. They cannot inject fluid into him, and he may die at any time. Meanwhile, the Suihua Forced Labor Camp would rather wait for him to die than release him.

Judges and public prosecutors of conscience, please uphold justice, and accept my appeal according to the law. Withdraw An Senbiao's sentence of imprisonment in labor camp, immediately release him with a verdict of not guilty, provide legal economical and spiritual compensation; investigate according to the law the responsibilities of the units and people in former Shengli local police station, Longfeng detention center, Daqing forced labor camp, Suihua labor camp, and so on.

My name is Zhang Cui. I am a Dafa practitioner who just came to the U.S from mainland China. Today I am going to talk about how I came from China to the U.S. It is also a process in which I have continued to get rid of my fear and all other attachments during the Fa rectification period.

1. Being arrested twice, I clarified the truth, and got out from the detention center with righteous thoughts

After July 20, 1999, I had a strong desire to come to the U.S. It is also an attachment because I was afraid that I could not continue to practice under the relentless suppression in China. I went from Wuhan to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing four or five times, but all my applications for a visa were rejected. During that time, there were numerous disciples, one group after another, going to Beijing to validate the Fa. Many of them were arrested. Frequently other practitioners asked me to go. I said that I was afraid of being put in jail. All my life, I have been frightened whenever I have seen a policeman's uniform. If they arrested me, I would pass out. As soon as I thought about jail and what kind of place it would be, I was scared. I studied the Fa diligently in my home and asked Master to give me strength and help me to break through. I read the entire Zhuan Falun every 2 or 3 days. One day when I was reading, I could not help crying and feeling so sad. I cried for an hour before I could stop. As soon as I stopped crying, I was not afraid any more. I felt so happy and began to smile. From my heart, I was extremely grateful to Master for having removed a mountain of fear from me in the other dimension and replacing it with courage. Yet I was not sure whether going to Beijing was getting political or not. Later, in a moment of tranquility while meditating, I saw the "Lotus Flower Test" three characters. I realized that the lotus flower test symbolized the test of life and death. Master stated in "True Cultivation" that, "Whether you can let go of ordinary human attachments is a fatal test on your way to becoming a truly extraordinary being. Every disciple who truly cultivates must pass it, for it is the dividing line between a cultivator and an everyday person." ("True Cultivation," Essentials for Further Advancement)

I took the hint from Master, and planned to break out during the "sensitive" period. One will be a god if one can let go of the attachment to life and death. Otherwise one will just be an everyday person. When my understanding of the Fa advanced, I shed a layer of fear. I planned to recite Zhuan Falun in order to recall Master's Fa at any time. In March 2000, during the national representative conference, I went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was sent back to Wuhan. My husband came every day and asked them to let me go home. He asked the officers of the 610 Office, "Which law did she violate? Appealing is a citizen's right; if my wife runs into some trouble in this place, I will not let you get away." The 610 Office people were speechless, but they still refused to release me and wanted to transfer me away secretly. I clarified the truth to them. Before I was transferred, the one who was in charge of transforming me showed great sympathy for me and gave me a lot of help. She told me privately that I was going to be transferred to some place, but she didn't know where. I told her my home address and let her inform my husband. When I was dragged to a police car, my husband came. He asked the 610 Office officials for a reason for the transfer in front of many passers-by. Suddenly many people gathered to listen. My husband spoke very well, and I continuously supported him from my heart. Many people heard the truth. The 610 Office personnel thought they planned the transfer so secretly. They were shocked that so many people knew about it, and they did not know how to deal with it. They could only let my husband talk more. Later they transferred me to a place where many fellow practitioners were imprisoned. I went on a hunger strike and I told the police there, "Starting from today, I am not going to drink any water, or have any food until you let me go home unconditionally."

There were more police and 610 Officers at the new detention center. It was tightly guarded, the gate was locked, and visits from family members were not allowed. There were military training sessions, meetings and brainwashing sessions all day long. I refused to participate in any of those activities. During the military trainings, I did the Falun Gong exercises; when a meeting was held, I lay down to sleep. One day, a police officer came into my room and said, "Why are you staying in bed? If you are brave, you should come downstairs to participate in the study (brainwashing)." I thought lying down like this would not be right. I came down to the big conference room, where everyone looked at me, and the police as well as the 610 officers were whispering. I cleared my throat a little and started to recite Master's Lunyu loudly. All of the practitioners in the conference room joined me and recited together. Our voices were very loud and clear, and vibrated throughout the entire building. Nearly all the policemen on site rushed in and pushed me into a small room. From then on, they cancelled the military training sessions and the meetings.

They kept me inside a room. When I ran out of the room, they would try to catch me. I ran downstairs where many policemen were sitting and enjoying the sun. I said to them: "You guys are so young, but can you run up and down like me an old lady, after having no food and water for a week?" They said, "We'll accept the defeat honestly. We would be so hungry and faint even without having food for just one day." I said, "This is the superior and miraculous manifestation of Dafa. I almost died before I practiced, and now you all see with your own eyes that I am filled with vitality without food and drink after many days. Why won't you let us practice such a good Gong? Why do you have to arrest good people?" Some of them said, "It's an order from our superiors, and we don't have a choice." Some said, "This Gong is indeed marvelous; maybe they all will become gods." I knew that they all understood that Falun Dafa was good in their hearts but just could not speak the truth. Two days later, a policeman from my local police station came and said that I would be transferred to another place because I was a troublemaker. Meanwhile my husband was waiting outside and took me home. My husband said that he went to the local police station every day and asked them to release me. The police held a two-day urgent meeting and decided to release me. Actually I knew that this was made possible with the encouragement of Master and the righteous thoughts and actions of a disciple. Thanks to Master!

In 2001, I was arrested for passing out Dafa articles and materials. They took away all the materials, books and my passport. The next day, my husband went to the U.S to attend our son's graduation ceremony. At that time I thought that now I was alone in China and did not have other things to worry about. I wanted to save those criminals and the prison guards who I was able to contact. After I clarified the truth to them, they transformed from informants to Falun Gong practitioners. They understood that Falun Dafa was good. After seeing them be saved, I thought that even if I were taken in alive and dragged out dead, I would still be smiling. Meanwhile, my husband and my children told the U.S. media my story. The story became a good way to clarify the truth. With help from friends and relatives, I was unconditionally released again. I was the only Falun Gong practitioner released from the entire detention center. I realized that it was the result of the rescue efforts of overseas practitioners, and it put enormous pressure on the evil forces. It was also the result of our truth clarification efforts both inside Mainland China and overseas. We are one body and it is like a sharp sword shooting out. Master said that the old forces dare not stop Dafa disciples from clarifying the truth. As Master said,

2. I eliminated the fear and stepped forward to save a vast number of predestined people

After returning home, I seldom went out due to my desire for ease and comfort. Gradually the fear became stronger and stronger, and I was afraid of being arrested, as well as leaving a blemish on my cultivation path and so forth. My family members and friends were all worried that they would arrest me again. Among them, there were two friends who knew the truth. One was a cadre from the brainwashing center, who said to me, "Don't go out. You are a big target. You can make things at home and wrap them with a piece of red paper and we will help you pass them out. If we are caught, then we can just say that we picked them up from the ground and we are not Falun Gong practitioners." For a fairly long period of time, I made items to clarify the truth and let ordinary people circulate them. However, I hid at home in fear. I was quite happy for them, yet also quite ashamed of my inferior behavior compared to these ordinary people.

In 2003, when my husband was hospitalized for a critical illness, I made contact with many people. I thought that I absolutely could not miss such an opportunity. On the surface they came to visit patients, but actually they came to hear the truth. I knew I must save them. I told them the facts in a way suitable for their understanding and helped them firmly remember that Falun Dafa was good. I had them recite, "Zhen-Shan-Ren is good; Falun Dafa is good," every day from their hearts. During that time, many people, including men providing telephone service, the vegetable sellers, the store staff, and the hospital personnel all were reciting those words every day. I felt happy for their salvation. On July 5, 2003, my husband passed away. How could I handle this? I was not brave and was afraid to stay home alone. I planned to move, but wherever I moved, the police also followed. I moved around and finally moved back. Since I dared not stay at my home, I stayed at a neighbor's house. By then, my elder sister decided to take me to her home. She was afraid that I would be taken away again and was watching me all day long. My sister was living in a very good environment, but there was pain in my heart. I went out and found a voluntary cooking job. The rice that I cooked the first time was all burnt and sticky. More than 20 business owners were shaking their heads while eating the rice. The only good thing was that I did not ask for money and was also courteous. At that time I was thinking that I definitely should learn to do it well. I came here so that these people could obtain the truth. They also had many people connected with them. I had to make friends with them and let them witness the image of a Falun Gong practitioner, and to realize whatever was said on TV was all fabricated.

This place was a big fruit wholesale site. There were more than 20 wholesale business partners there, from the beginning of the year to the end, to wholesale the seasonal fruits. The big boss was a woman. She went to the northeast to shop for goods and let me take care of the site. In addition to taking care of these partners, I also had to help manage the business as well as the cats and dogs. Strangely, the business was extremely good, and the boss's husband said happily, "All this fortune was brought in by Sister Zhang. My business has never been so good." I knew that it was Master's arrangement to have more people come here to learn the truth.

People always talked about Falun Gong during their meals. They said that the TV programs lied irresponsibly all day long. It described Falun Gong as something with ferocious fangs and gnarling claws in addition to a green face. "Look at Sister Zhang, see how nice she is!" Then I would tell them that I did not behave as well as they said and that many good people who practiced Falun Gong were locked up in jails, where they were tortured and even persecuted to death. Hearing this, people would defend Falun Gong against the injustice from the bottom of their hearts. They swore at Jiang and spoke out justly for Falun Gong. Although I was exhausted and tired being a cook here and I even had to pay for my own living expenses, I stayed in order for them to really know Dafa and to have a good future. I truly experienced the happiness of, "Let joy be found in hardships." I was very tired and hurt my back, and I obviously lost a lot of weight. My sister felt sorry for me. She and her children did everything to keep me from going back there to work again. I observed that these people all knew Dafa was good, and I prepared to go to other places. I thus took the opportunity and quit my job.

No matter how nice my sister's family was, I was not willing to stay there. I rented a room in a substandard housing quarter, which was just like the one in the movie "72 tenants." We shared the restroom and the kitchen. It was dirty and smelly. I started to do public sanitary service. The restroom, sewer, stairway, and hallway at last looked brand-new. I persisted in doing the work day after day. The "72 tenants" all praised me as a good, hard worker. They were all happy to get acquainted with me. It was exactly why I moved there. I would like to give the following examples: Once at midnight, a thief tried to pry open my door. I exerted all my strength to bang on the door, yet he continued to pry open the door. My neighbors heard the noises and turned on all the lights in the hallway. The dogs were also barking. The thief then left.

The next day, we gathered together and talked about the thief. I learned that thieves came there often. They told me not to fear and said that if I came across this again I should tell the thief that I was even poorer than he was and all my family members were laid off without food. They said that sometimes the thief would use a flashlight to look into the room. The police department did not take care of it. I told them that the police department would only arrest good people; they would arrest Falun Gong practitioners who practiced "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." As a result, they conducted a lively discussion on the evil and corruption in society.

By that time I had already thrown off the police. I felt that it was too slow to clarify the truth like that, and thought about going out to distribute truth-clarifying materials. I also felt that I saved too little money just by being thrifty. I thought about being an entrepreneur. I thought a lot at the time of moving and about having truth-clarifying material sites spring up everywhere. I thus asked my relative to help me with a loan of 10,000 Yuan. I rented a place and opened a business. In the evenings, I went out to distribute materials. It was the moment that I dreamed about and yet was also afraid of. Going out the first time, I continually sent forth righteous thoughts. I followed fellow practitioners and observed how they did it. I had difficulty extending my hands out. As soon as I extended my hands, it seemed that all eyes were staring at me. I retracted my hands quickly. After hearing "Be quick!" from practitioners ahead, I shivered and the materials were scattered all over the ground. I distributed the materials while picking them up in a hurry; I was in such an awkward state. After passing out all of the materials and returning home, I felt light and happy, as if a heavy load was off my shoulders.

3. Doing the Three Things well; I got back my passport in a dignified manner

I did the three things every day after that. I became more mature and more and more handy at doing things. We experienced a shortage of materials and of funding. We often gave the opportunity of distributing materials to others. I thought that it would be great if only my business could be profitable. I knew that people in the same trade were all young and strong. They rode everywhere on a motorcycle every day, and it was still hard for them to make a profit. I could not even ride a bicycle and could only wait at home all day. "Who would come to me?" It was indeed very strange; there really was business coming to my door. I easily earned 6,000 Yuan. It happened that a fellow practitioner came over to borrow 6,000 Yuan from me the next day. She told me that she would like to establish a family truth-clarifying material site. "Isn't that what I'm thinking of?" I gave her the money and said to her, "If you are thinking about returning the money, then just use the money to establish another site." The following day, I earned another 5,000 Yuan. A few days later, a fellow practitioner who I had not seen for several years and was forced to become homeless came over. She said that she wanted to borrow some money to rent a room and to make truth clarifying CDs. It was again what I would like to do. It was too miraculous. It was actually arranged by Master. The third time, I earned 60,000 Yuan. Those young men of the same trade looked at me with new eyes. They rushed over to take me, the expert, who could not ride a bicycle, to make business deals everywhere on motorcycles. I told them that I knew nothing about business, yet nobody believed me. I felt happy inside as it was much better than trying to save money like before, and the truth-clarifying material sites could all run normally.

I knew I took the right path and my fear wore off quite a bit. Later, I thought about going to the Wuhan foreign affairs office to clarify the truth. I wanted to regain my rights as a citizen and ask for my passport back. I went to apply for the passport and brought the truth-clarifying materials with me. I thought that if they would create any difficulties for me, it would be an opportunity to clarify the truth. Due to my strong righteous thoughts, I got my passport without any trouble.

While I was busy with my business and doing the three things on top of it, I worried about my application for a visa being rejected. I already got my passport, and I did not want to go to the American Embassy to apply for a visa. My son was anxious and asked me why I put in so much effort to get a passport. I said that I wanted to regain my citizen's rights. My daughter in law said, "Mom, there are so many elderly practitioners clarifying the truth in New York." I was moved and wanted to go to New York. I discussed that with fellow practitioners. The odds were against me; I had been refused a visa four times already. I wondered if it was the old forces' arrangement, and they all agreed that it was. If it was the old forces' arrangement, then I definitely need to negate it and should break away from it.

Often I would cling to my human notions, thinking my chances were not good and lacked righteous thoughts. This time I made up my mind that I would negate the existence of the old forces themselves. I thought, "Whatever the old forces say doesn't count; only what Master says counts."

The day I arrived at the embassy, the majority of requests for a visa were refused. I sent forth righteous thoughts continually and would not allow the officers to create difficulties for me. Almost all the people in front of me were refused. I simply kept sending forth righteous thoughts, eliminating the interference from the evil. When it was my turn, the officer indeed did not make trouble for me. He asked me how long my son had not been back home. I answered, "Eight years." He then asked why he didn't come back. I answered, "He practices Falun Gong, and he will be arrested if he comes back." The officer smiled after hearing this. The following question I did not understand, I simply answered, "Yes." Due to my southern accent, the officer could not understand me properly and misinterpreted it as "four." They intended to ask me how many times I had been refused. It happened that it was four times. It was not actually a coincidence. "It was Teacher who protected me!" as said in Zhuan Falun.

Since information about Falun Gong practitioners was all stored in the computers, I was on the "black list" created by the CCP. As soon as they checked my passport, they would have known that I was a Falun Gong practitioner, and would not let me pass. Similarly, I kept sending forth righteous thoughts when undergoing the customs examination. Fellow practitioners overseas were also strengthening me at the same time. All a sudden, the person who was checking my passport received a private call. He talked for a long time. He returned the passport to me without even looking at it, yet the people in front and behind me were checked over and over and were questioned again and again. With Master's benevolent protection, I smoothly passed the last test.

Upon arriving in America, I stayed in New York for over one month. Every day from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m., I was devoted to the three things. It was the time that I felt happiest. I realized that it was an opportunity that Master gave us and encouraged us elderly practitioners to catch up with the Fa-rectification process.

Now I have come to Chicago and reunited with my son and his family. I cherish this gathering again after a long separation with numerous trials and hardships. I have walked on the fine path Master arranged for me. It was Master who brought me forward with painstaking efforts. If it were not for Master, not only would I have lost my life long ago, but also I would have lost the chance to keep up with the Fa-rectification process. I have no words to express my gratitude to Master for your benevolent protection. Thank you Master! Thank you all overseas fellow practitioners for the rescue.

(Clearwisdom.net) I called home and talked to my family about withdrawing from the Communist Party, Youth League and Young Pioneers League. Since my hometown is a small, remote village, little news from the outside world ever reaches there. Also, father seems to blindly worship the evil Communist Party. I thought that it wouldn't be possible to convince them to withdraw. However, soon after we talked, to my surprise, they agreed to do so. Later, I knew that this occurred because overseas Dafa practitioners had previously called my hometown, and many people knew that withdrawing from the Communist Party could save their lives.

Later, I talked to one of my classmates living in another city. He agreed to withdraw as well. He had read this kind of information in a chat room on the Internet, where another practitioner was "clarifying the truth". After hearing only a few sentences, the person who was listening immediately wrote down his real name and said that he wanted to quit the Communist Party. He also said that he had more than 100 business clients who wanted to withdraw and inquired of the practitioner how to help them to do this. He said that he had received many emails with this information and that he had read every one of them and, therefore, understood the situation quite well.

Last winter I went back to my hometown. Someone in the village received a phone call from an overseas Dafa practitioner. Another person said that he would be very happy if he could receive this phone call also. He had always wanted me to put his telephone number on the Internet. In fact, many people who live in the countryside are quite curious about the phone calls from overseas.

When we clarify the truth, some people may not be happy initially. They will not listen or read. But as they learn additional information, more evil factors will be eliminated. As a result, it becomes something very natural for them to accept the truth. I remember an analogy that one practitioner once shared, "It is like eating pancakes. It is not the last pancake that makes one full. It is those that he has already eaten. When he has the last one, he will say.... I'm full."

In my opinion, Dafa practitioners both inside and outside of China should cooperate with each other even better. Those in Mainland China can do the collecting of telephone numbers and email addresses and then send them to overseas practitioners, who can then use them to clarify the truth. This should work well.

This is my personal understanding. If there is anything inappropriate, please correct me.

(Clearwisdom.net) A recent experience made me realize that Teacher creates opportunities for us if we truly have pure hearts for saving sentient beings. One day a former colleague of mine whom I had not seen for a long time called me and wanted to see me. I thought this would be a terrific opportunity to clarify the truth to her. On my way to meet her, I kept sending forth righteous thoughts.

As soon as we saw each other, she started to talk about how she was successful in doing direct sales. Seeing that I was not moved by the potential success from direct sales, she began to talk about how wealthy people enjoy their social status and happy lives, attempting to persuade me to join her. I tried several times to divert the conversation, but just couldn't make her stop. I was a bit frustrated. I thought I did not have that much time to listen to her, so I interrupted her and said, "I definitely cannot do direct sales. I have other plans."

Just when I was trying to figure out how to divert the topic to quitting the Communist Party, she said happily, "I am doing this for your sake. I am saving you!" I immediately realized Teacher was giving me an opportunity. I hurriedly said, "Speaking of saving me, I thought of one thing that I must tell you. You want to save me and I want to save you too."

Then I began to clarify the truth to her. In the end, she happily quit the Communist Party and also understood the truth about Dafa.

From this encounter I also realized that we cannot wait or depend on other people to save sentient beings. It is our responsibility and we can't afford to miss any opportunities to save people.

One time I went to the home of a client. She was home alone. While we were chatting, I told her about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. She agreed to quit the evil party. Before I left, I gave her some truth-clarification materials to read. I said to her, "Could you talk to your daughter and husband and ask them to quit the Communist Party?"

Several days later I went to her home again to do some business. Her daughter and a colleague happened to be in the living room. I asked my client whether she had told her daughter about quitting the Communist Party, and she said she hadn't gotten a chance to do so. I then offered to talk to her daughter about it, but she said it's wasn't necessary and that she would tell her daughter later. I then left.

On my way home I felt very upset. Her daughter did not visit her very often and I did not even have the chance to see her daughter once a year. Besides, her colleague was also there. How could I miss the opportunity to save them? I had relied on my client to save other people. I looked inside myself and found that I was afraid that her daughter and her colleague wouldn't understand. Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Fa Conference,"

Later I found a chance to go to my client's home again to talk to her daughter, and she happily agreed to quit the Communist Party. Both my client and her daughter also said that they would talk to their husbands, asking them to quit too. On my way home, I felt very happy.

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Falun Gong practitioner in China. After the persecution began in July 1999, I lost contact with all sources of positive information of Falun Gong. Although I studied the Fa on my own, I frequently ran into questions that left me deeply confused. Luckily, I have been able to receive updates about Falun Gong since the beginning of the year. Reading Teacher's recent lectures has made me feel like a lost boat regaining direction. My confusion was washed away, everything became clear to me and I felt more confident. Recalling my cultivation these past few years, I would like to share my understandings on letting go of human attachments and stepping forward.

When the persecution began, many practitioners appealed peacefully on the streets or on Tiananmen Square. The term "stepping forward" was commonly used and, according to my understanding at the time, it signified practitioners stepping outside of their homes to call for an end to the persecution. However, I was not able to step forward, as I was held back by my various attachments. Later on, my understanding was that Teacher said not to allow the evil to persecute us so I never did "step forward." This was my initial perception of the term.

After reading Teacher's recent articles stating that we should do the three things well, I gained another level of understanding regarding "stepping forward." We should step out from personal cultivation and become Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples. We must study the Fa, send righteous thoughts and clarify the truth well to live up to our significant historical responsibility.

Through intense Fa study, I enlightened to another meaning behind "stepping forward." It also encompasses relinquishing various human attachments and removing human sentiments. Teacher mentioned in Zhuan Falun and in recent articles that, "...the entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments," (Zhuan Falun) and that, "many attachments that come from sentimentality, we should take them lightly and eventually abandon them." (Zhuan Falun) Only by letting go of our attachments can we do the three things well and truly walk the path to godhood.

By doing the three things Teacher asked of us, I have gained some new understanding with regard to letting go of human attachments in the past few months.

1. Falun Gong practitioners' studying the Fa and cultivation is the foundation. If the persecution did not occur, Teacher might have arranged our paths differently. However, since the old forces' interference is now directly targeting Fa-rectification, Teacher has arranged our cultivation accordingly. Yet it is absolutely not a path of "revolting like revolutionaries". Doing the three things well is the requirement of cultivation and is what is asked of Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples. It is not for the development of human society. By doing the three things well, we are not only assisting Teacher in Fa-rectification but also establishing practitioners' mighty virtue and reaching Consummation. A person's increase in level directly affects the potency of one's righteous thoughts and the outcome of his or her truth clarification.

In order to test Falun Gong practitioners, the old forces have taken advantage of our loopholes. I was once very attached to my child, hoping that he would be able to make something of himself in society one day. Lately, whenever such notions occurred, he would wind up making serious mistakes in school. These intolerable mistakes, however, were ones I had repeatedly warned him against. I couldn't help but feel that his future was ruined. Then I recalled Teacher saying that if we "learn from that person instead of the Fa," then we would "likely push that student to a place where there is no way out for him." (Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York) Therefore, these attachments will not only influence my own progress in cultivation but affect others as well. Dafa disciples must unconditionally let go of attachments and cultivate uprightly from the heart.

2. Sending righteous thoughts is a way to eradicate various interferences. In sending righteous thoughts we eliminate the interference within our own dimensions, which in turn facilitates our cultivation and truth clarification. Here I would like to bring up the issue of "dimension" when sending righteous thoughts. Teacher has mentioned many times the complexity of the universe and the human body, so we should not limit ourselves to everyday people's understanding of dimensions. We should follow Teacher's guidance and strengthen our righteous thoughts until they are as big as the universe, encompassing everything and leaving out nothing. Therefore, we cannot always restrict our righteous thoughts to our own cities or areas, for it is the most superficial understanding of dimensions.

3. The main purpose of clarifying the facts is to save sentient beings. This is the historic mission of Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, as well as an opportunity to establish our mighty virtue. While clarifying the truth, we must pay attention to letting go of our own attachments. In the beginning, I found myself more willing to talk to people whom I got along with and tend to neglect those I disliked. I realized that it was my humanness interfering with what I should do. Falun Dafa has no enemies, nor is anyone capable of becoming an enemy of Dafa. Dafa encompasses all beings, so we must not be guided by our own likes and dislikes. After eliminating the interference behind a person, we must do our best to save him or her. I also ran into difficulties when clarifying the facts to my relatives. Teacher has already explained to us how we should deal with this problem. The key is to let go of our attachments, treat them as a sentient being and earnestly clarify the facts to them.

Coordination and cooperation between project groups is crucial when clarifying the truth. Since people's thoughts are extremely complex and hard to ascertain, unlocking their hearts becomes a difficult task. TV programs, e-mails, faxes or clarifying the facts face-to-face, etc, there is no telling which method could be more effective for a person. Learning the truth from friends or relatives, receiving occasional e-mails from strangers or reading information from websites, it is uncertain when a person's knowing side will be touched. For instance, I did not receive any direct response after clarifying the facts to the people around me. However, one of them saw an information booth for resigning from the Chinese Communist Party during his travels abroad and became more receptive to the truth later on. Another friend of mine received truth clarification material on the Internet and began to ask me for Falun Gong related information.

(Clearwisdon.net) From an everyday person like I was, who only helped with a little bit of Dafa work, I have now become a Falun Dafa practitioner. I would like to tell the story of my path toward sacred cultivation to all my fellow practitioners. At the same time, I also hope to awaken the people in the world through my personal experience, to clearly expose the intention of Jiang's regime to damage the world.

During the night of the Chinese New Year holiday of 2002, we were intoxicated, in the spirit of the festival, when suddenly, after heavy knocking on the door, a group of policemen and 610 Office officials broke in, searched the whole house, confiscated money and belongings, and arrested my wife. Because I did not cooperate with them, they arrested me too, leaving my eight-year-old child and seventy-some-years-old mother to rely upon each other to live.

My wife and I were sent to the local police detention center. Since I refused to cooperate with them in their persecution of those kind practitioners, and did not agree with their distorted principles and lies, they concluded that I was incorrigible. My wife and I both were therefore sent to the Gaoyang Labor Camp in Baoding City, Hebei Province. In this labor camp I experienced personally and saw with my own eyes the inhumane treatment, which the officials nevertheless labeled with such wonderful words as "educate," "reform," and "saving." The facts about good and bad that I witnessed in front of me every day made me understand the true meaning of Master's boundless compassion and the higher realm of salvation for all sentient beings. I am also glad for myself and feel lucky to be able to stay with practitioners who are steadfast in cultivating Dafa. I will always have righteous thoughts and perform righteous actions to validate Dafa and work hard to get rid of my attachments. It was through this experience that I obtained the Fa. I started cultivating and have finally become a Dafa practitioner myself from being a non-practicing spouse of a practitioner.

Dafa practitioners' words and behavior have formed a strong field to restrain the evil. Dafa cultivators use their peaceful hearts to deal with the officials who perpetrate violence upon them, because those officials cannot see the whole truth of things. Practitioners clarify the facts to them about how Dafa had benefited them, and they all talk about the same facts--Falun Dafa is great. How nice a group they are! Falun Dafa is really a pure land. Falun Dafa purifies people's bodies and souls. It also purifies people's behavior. I took every chance to ask whoever had memorized Zhuan Falun to recite it to me. Although the environment was still very awful, when I heard the principles of the Fa, they really resonated with me. By understanding the Fa principles, I realized more that practitioners' selfless conduct is their expression after studying the Fa. Although the environment is still tough, as long as practitioners' hearts are filled with the Fa, we have Master with us and we feel joy in our hearts. These things enable me to see further and clearer that Jiang's regime is trying to persecute the world by trying to deny them Dafa.

In the labor camp, the police tried to use me to do the work they were supposed to do. They talked to me, ordered me to curse Dafa, curse Master and tried to make me hate my wife. They said, "Look, this is all because of Falun Gong. Your Master has damaged you." I asked them who put me in the labor camp, who ransacked my house and now who treats me like this? Which law have I violated? Whom do you think I should curse? However, since I was young, my parents taught me never to curse anyone. In school, the textbooks also did not teach us to curse anyone. In contrast, at forty-some-years-old in a labor camp, I have been ordered to curse someone and this is a new thing to me.

Since their plan did not work, the policemen said nothing, but tried another trap. They found some "transformed" people to talk to me. When I thought of Master's Fa, suddenly I understood that this was the old forces looking for my loopholes. They said, "How about we have a talk?" I said to them, "You all have been transformed, and you are not Dafa practitioners anymore. Master's Fa is for practitioners, not for everyday people. Everyday people are not qualified to talk about it, so we have nothing to talk about." At that moment I really did not like hearing what they said because it showed disrespect for Master and the Fa. They said, "Then, let us talk about everyday people's things." I knew, eventually, they wanted me to express my attitude toward Dafa. I said I really would like to chat with somebody. I told them, however, "What a pity that in this place I have no any interest in chatting at all. This is just not the right place to talk. If you really want to chat, when I am free from here, I invite you to come to my house to talk. I really do not want to get in more trouble by chatting in here." Thus, I completely rejected the old forces' arrangement.

The old forces would not let go and continued trying to find and exploit my attachments. One day the police called me in for an interrogation, and asked, "Say, isn't Falun Gong some kind of organization?" My clear heart determined that this must be the old forces again. I had to negate it. I told them that Falun Gong does not have the form of an organization. He asked, "Then what exactly is it?" I answered, "They are a kind group with strong self-control." Just like this, I wisely answered the question and completely broke through the old forces' arrangement. In this unusual situation, some policemen introduced me to other policemen. Therefore, I started to tell the facts about Falun Dafa in this most evil place. Also, at the location of doing the labor, I was able to contact outside Dafa practitioners and had the chance to watch Master's latest lecture. Going through so much hardship has made me mature a lot.

A year later, I was sent back there again. A policeman came to talk to me. He said, "I really cannot imagine they could not change you at all in an entire year." I said, "Yes, I changed; only I changed for the better."

In the past two years in the labor camp, I practiced with my fellow practitioners and we recited Dafa and Master's new articles. We made use of all kinds of conditions to shock the evil, and sent righteous thoughts to eradicate the evil spirits and rotten ghosts. In the labor camp we clarified the truth to the assistants and to the police who still have a conscience. In Master's boundless compassion, practitioners take the Fa as teacher and pass through all kinds of tribulations one after another. We suffered from the persecution repeatedly and once again validated Master's great compassion, the unbreakable Dafa and the perfect harmony.

When we came back home from the labor camp, the house had been ransacked. Everything was gone. A leaking pipe caused the house to be flooded. The confiscation by the police frightened my child and even now our hearts are still fluttering with fear. Whenever someone knocks loudly on the door, it makes us nervous. After I went back to work, they paid me only enough for very basic living expenses. Even facing all this, nothing can change my righteous thoughts of steadfastly practicing Dafa. Let us do well the three things that Fa rectification Dafa disciples should do, follow Master closely during the Fa rectification period, walk righteously toward our way home and live up to Master's expectations.

(Clearwisdom.net) During the process of clarifying truth and validating Dafa, a practitioner's kindness is very important. Through our words and deeds, many people will see that Falun Gong is a good practice to guide people toward compassion.

One day, I clarified the truth to my colleague and his wife. The couple told me this true story. Deep autumn is the time northerners stock celery cabbage for the long winter. Many people pick the best cabbages one by one in the food market. But the couple observed a Falun Gong practitioner who was never picky in choosing food. They said that in China today, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) cadres ostensibly advocate decency and integrity. However, in private they take bribes and are involved in corruption. On the other hand, Falun Gong practitioners, who cultivate "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," are strict with themselves. "I am totally convinced Falun Gong practitioners cultivate themselves at all times and in all places."

As a Chinese proverb goes, "Spirits can make one verbose and hurt a friendship; profits can make one heartless and end a relationship." As Dafa practitioners, we should care less for money and profit, rid ourselves of all attachments and keep a compassionate heart. My wife and I have been striving to give up these attachments since we began practicing Falun Dafa. We always try to consider others first. Our kind deeds can exert a subtle influence on others. Although I feel I am far from Teacher's requirements, people around us sometimes are deeply touched by our righteous behavior, from which they learn that Falun Dafa is a righteous way. Of course, it is mainly attributed to the magnificent progress of Master's Fa-rectification.

At a big family party, my young sister-in-law said, "From second brother and sister-in-law, I can say that Falun Dafa is good!" Most recently, my younger brother, who did not cultivate Dafa, went to persuade my old brother and his wife because they were poisoned by the CCP party culture: "Both of you had poor health, which costs dozens of 'yuan' in healthcare every day. Look at second brother and sister-in-law. All of their illnesses are gone just by cultivating Falun Gong. They have not taken one pill for an entire decade, and look younger by a dozen years. Now I also have a booklet of Falun Gong and I feel great!" My young sister also advised them using her own experiences of two years of Falun Gong cultivation and they finally awakened to the truth of Falun Gong.

At present, there are four people in our family who have cultivated Dafa and 16 have proclaimed their withdrawal from the CCP. My cousin's wife had suffered from many illnesses and was too weak to walk even a few steps. Just one month after she practiced Falun Gong, all the illnesses she had are gone, and she felt the Falun rotating in her abdomen. So she told everybody she met, "Falun Gong is great! Falun Gong offered me a second life. The book Zhuan Falun guides people to be good, according to the standards of 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance'."

(Clearwisdom.net) The elderly Mrs Wang Suqing, who lives at the Goumenzi Village in Goumenzi Township, Lingyuan City of Liaoning Province, is 80 years old this year. Due to a number of illnesses, she practiced Falun Gong exercises for a few days in order to gain better health. However, due to the persecution of Falun Gong, she was too afraid to continue and stopped practicing.

In the summer of 2004, Wang Suqing's illness continued. By winter, she fell ill again. Her son is a Falun Gong practitioner and when he was looking after her, he told her to silently recite "Falun Dafa is good" and at the same time gave her a card which says "Falun Dafa is good" on it. The elderly woman carefully placed the card in the pocket of her jumper and followed her son's instructions. After a few days she told her son, "Every time I recite 'Falun Dafa is good', I don't feel that uncomfortable anymore." Mrs. Wang thought to herself: "Now I definitely believe in Falun Gong."

The tumour in Mrs Wang's stomach had been there for many years. At night when going to the bathroom, she excreted a lot of things. Afterwards, she felt the tumour had disappeared and her stomach felt extremely comfortable. She excitedly told her son and daughter about her miraculous experience. She also told all her friends about the miracle of Falun Gong.

On the same day, her daughter was washing her clothes. When she was washing her mother's jumper, she found that whenever she tried to push the jumper down, it always floated up again. She tried a few times but the jumper would not sink into the water. She felt it was very strange. At this time, a card with "Falun Dafa is good" slid out from the section of the jumper that was not sinking into the water. She picked it up and saw that there was no water on the card at all. She shouted, "It's a miracle! This time I really believe it. Falun Gong is truly good! When I go home, I will tell my mother-in-law and her family to learn Falun Gong as well."

As Mrs. Wang's illness gets better and better each day, the miracles of Falun Gong continued to appear. Twenty years ago, Mrs. Wang incurred a deep bruise on her skull and it had remained there. However, after she began practicing, one day, she accidentally bumped her head into a door. When she touched her head, not only did she not feel any pain, she also surprisingly discovered that the deep bruise was gone as well! She tells whoever she meets about this story. Her son also said happily, "You should continue to recite 'Falun Dafa is good' from the depth of your heart."

Guo Guoting is not so much happy to be in Canada as he is relieved. And he says he's not going back to China--at least not anytime soon. The 46-year-old lawyer from Shanghai flew in to Ottawa on May 20, travelling on a visitor's visa, ostensibly to attend a meeting. The real reason he's here, he says, is because he's fleeing persecution in his home country. Though he spent most of his career practising international maritime and trade law, in 2003 he redirected his career into the minefield of civil rights, defending jailed journalists, fellow civil rights lawyers, and practitioners of Falun Gong, a religion outlawed by Beijing's Communist regime. Because of his work, he says, police have raided his office and seized his computer, the state suspended his law licence, and on March 10, he was put under house arrest.

Through a network of Chinese dissidents and Falun Gong members abroad, Guoting's cause quickly went international. Among others, then Liberal MP David Kilgour fired off a letter to Beijing, calling for Guo's release. "I wanted them to know that if they want to be respected members of the international community, then they are going to have to respect civil rights," says Kilgour, who's now an independent, having quit the Liberal caucus in April. "They can't treat lawyers this way."

On June 4, the 16th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, Guo publicly renounced the oaths he took, as a young member of the Red Guard, pledging lifetime fidelity to the Communist Party of China. "Why do I resign from the Red Guard? Because I agree with the 'Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,'" Guo says in halting English. Guo wanted to join the movement renouncing membership in the CPC and "push it," he says. "I would ask anyone who is in the Communist party to resign it as soon as possible, because in China if there is no Communist party, a new China will be born."

The "Nine Commentaries" have been circulating feverishly across China's mainland since they were first published in November in the dissident newspaper The Epoch Times. The nine long essays, detailing the history and crimes of the CPC from its inception in 1921, to its seizing power in 1949, through to the present, are most frequently copied across peer-to-peer computer networks (the same ones Canadian teens use to swap illegal MP3 downloads) to get around Beijing's censorship controls. With such titles as "On How the Chinese Communist Party Is an Evil Cult," The Epoch Times published the essays to kick off a campaign urging people to quit the CPC. And so far, the paper claims, more than two-million Chinese citizens have publicly renounced their membership.

Masha Ma, a Chinese national visiting Canada to do graduate work at the University of Toronto, officially quit the Communist party after the commentaries were published. "They helped me develop my own independent thinking and I realized I had been brainwashed to believe so many things," Ma says. At age 8, she says she was a member of the Young Pioneers; at 13, she joined the Youth League and at age 18, while still in high school, she became a full member of the CPC. In her childhood, she recalls being taught to memorize mantras like, "The sun is big, the earth is big, but nothing is bigger than the benevolence of the Party," and "Mommy's close, Daddy's close, but no one is closer than Chairman Mao," Ma says. The essays, she says, only solidified her change of heart, which began after she arrived in Canada and saw a documentary on the Tiananmen Square massacre, and realized she'd been lied to all her life. "As a child, I was told that the protestors were trying to kill the soldiers and that Beijing residents were trying to separate from the state, so they threatened the security of the country. We were even asked to memorize the names of the martyrs--the soldiers," Ma says. Following that, she attended a U of T conference on Canada-China relations. There she met a man whom she was told was a Falun Gong practitioner. "I was so scared because in China they are regarded as an [slanderous term omitted] and all the books and videos are burned." But after doing independent research in the free media, she realized it had all been more lies. Ma even ended up marrying the man she met at the conference.

On the heels of the mass resignations came the high-profile defection on May 26 of the first secretary of the Chinese consulate general in Sydney, Australia, Chen Yonglin. Chen's request for political asylum was initially refused--some have speculated because Australia is seeking closer trade ties with China. Though he's now in hiding, the 37-year-old diplomat has issued statements detailing the existence of vast Chinese spy networks in Australia, the U.S. and Canada. Shortly afterward, Hao Feng Jun, a high-level Chinese security agent, also requested asylum in Australia and corroborated Chen's claims about the spy network.

Rumours of a Chinese spy network operating in North America are nothing new; the government's suppressed Sidewinder report and Washington's Cox Report both detailed the existence of agents in industry and government here and in the States. And only months before Hao and Chen's claims went public, CSIS had once again warned the government about the spread of Chinese espionage in Canada. "We want the government to take action," says Opposition foreign affairs critic, Stockwell Day, who is demanding the government launch an investigation. "To my knowledge they have not yet followed our request of calling in China's ambassador and asking the tough questions that need to be asked about these very serious allegations."

Day also complains that none of these issues are getting any attention from most Canadian media--not unlike their failure to foresee the collapse of the USSR in the late eighties. In fact, just days before Chen's defection, Day had given a major speech on the impact of the "Nine Commentaries" at a conference at the U of T that was even reprinted in The Epoch Times. "It's difficult to get the press gallery to focus on things like Canada's external security needs, democracy and human rights," says Day. And if the seismic shift in Chinese politics begun by the commentaries continues, and ends up bringing down the CPC regime as quickly as the Soviets fell 15 years ago, Canadians are bound, once again, to be caught completely by surprise.

1. [Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province] The "610 Office" Arrests Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Sun Yanfang for Clarifying the Truth to Her Colleagues

In January 2001, only seven days after Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Yanfang from Acheng City was released, she was again pressured. Ji Hongqi, Xinhua Town's Education Office chief called her and asked her whether or not she would practice Falun Gong. Ms. Sun answered, "Yes." Because she would not renounce Falun Gong, Ji Hongqi, along with Gao Wenfeng, the local police station chief and policeman Yan arrested Ms. Sun again and detained her until May 9, 2002.

On Jun 23, 2005, Ji Hongqi ordered Ye Jianqi, the Xinhua Middle School principal, to document the information about Ms. Sun clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to her colleagues and obtain their signatures as evidence. Afterwards they reported Ms. Sun to the local "610 Office," who, along with the local police, arrested her again. Later they also ransacked Ms. Sun's parents' house and confiscated some Dafa books.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Hao Yueling and Jiang Xueqin Sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

A few days ago, Falun Gong practitioner Hao Yueling from the Dalian City Development District was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for two years of detention. Practitioner Jiang Xueqin, an English teacher in the district was arrested, too.

Though Hao Fukui, Hao Yueling's 70-year-old father suffers from certain illnesses, Hao Yueling is still being held in the district detention center.

3. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] The "610 Office" Arrested Ms. Wen Shuqiao Because She Requested Her Husband's Release

On the morning of June 24, 2005, the Hengshui City "610 Office" arrested Ms. Wen Shuqiao, a teacher in the city's No.4 Middle School. Her current whereabouts are unknown. Practitioner Mr. Sun Liangsheng, Ms. Wen's husband, was just sentenced to four years of in prison. On June 16, 2005 she went to the city's "610 Office" requesting her husband's unconditional release. For doing so, the "610 Office" arrested her.

The "610 Office" is annoyed by practitioners' families requesting practitioners' release. They attempt to find out who is organizes such requests. On June 22, the "610 Office" dispatched three groups of policemen to arrest three practitioners. Practitioner An Dasheng was arrested and is being held at the city brainwashing center. Practitioners Sang Wenling and Xia Shige were arrested that same day as well.

4. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] The Persecution of Mr. Hu Wei at the No.1 Section of the Fushun City Police Department

Practitioner Mr. Hu Wei graduated from Fudan University in Shanghai. In 2002 he lived in a relative's home. In September 2002, personnel from the No.1 Section of Fushun City's Police Department - also called the National Security Team - arrested Mr. Hu and used torture to extract a confession from him. They confiscated his cell phone, pager, his Omega watch, 960 Yuan cash, a pair of glasses worth 700 Yuan and his credit cards, including the Dragon and Oriental Cards.

Toward the end of September 2002 Mr. Hu was put in the city's forced labor camp. Because he went on a hunger strike, the policemen there shocked him many times with electric batons. After nine days on the hunger strike, Mr. Hu started to eat. Afterwards Mr. Hu was held in the Tight Administration Class of the No.9 Division in the forced labor camp. He was forced to sit on a hard board every day. His lung disease, which was cured after he started practicing Falun Gong, relapsed and he kept coughing.

5. [Nanning City, Guangxi Province] The Nanning Court Sentences Three Practitioners, Mr. Cai Junping, Mr. Liang Shenping and Ms. Liang Biyan, to Three Years in Prison

The Nanning City Intermediate Court in Guangxi Province sentenced Dafa practitioners Mr. Cai Junping, Mr. Liang Shenping and Ms. Liang Biyan to three years in prison. Ms. Liang was released on probation to await trial. However, on June 25, 2005, the "610 Office" arrested her again. Her present whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Hu Xianju Held in the Nanchong Brainwashing Center

Practitioner Ms. Hu Xianju from Nanchong is being held in the Nanchong Brainwashing Center because she would not renounce Falun Gong. Because other practitioners compromised, since they couldn't bear the intense persecution, they were released. Now only Ms. Hu is left there.

7. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Mr. Du Kesong, Zhou Chengqing and Ms. Su Xiuyan Arrested

Xiang Hongping and other officials from the Wendeng City "610 Office" arrested practitioners Mr. Du Kesong, Zhou Chengqing from Songchun Town, and Ms. Su Xiuyan from Caofu Village, Wendeng City, Shandong Province. They also ransacked practitioners' homes and confiscated all of their Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials.

Ms. Song Xiuyan was secretly transferred to the Weifang City Jail. Her child, less than two years old, was left at home.

Mr. Du, in his 70s, was tortured so severely, that he started to suffer from high blood pressure. He was sentenced and sent to the Weifang Jail but the jail officials refused to admit him. When Mr. Du's family made a request to visit him, the police made the family pay them 400 Yuan before they allowed the visit.

8. [Beijing] Practitioner Mr. Cheng Wei Sentenced to Two and a Half Years of Forced Labor

In February 2005, the police arrested practitioner Mr. Cheng Wei from Beijing and put him into the Beijing Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp, but did not inform his family. Mr. Cheng's parents later inquired about his situation. The police only said that there were problems with Mr. Cheng's being released on probation. However, they then sentenced him to two and a half years of forced labor.

In 2000, Mr. Cheng had been incarcerated in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp for one year. After his release in November 2001, several fellow practitioners were arrested. Among them was Zhu Guangjun, who informed on him. Mr. Cheng was thus arrested and put into Haidian District Detention Center for a month. Later he was released on probation to await trial.

In the forced labor camp, Ni Zhenxiong, the No.2 Division chief, incited some people to beat Mr. Cheng, deprive him of sleep and brainwash him.

9. [Wuhan, Hubei] Mr. Hu Youying Secretly Sentenced to Three Years in Prison for Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials

On December 10, 2003, practitioner Mr. Hu Youying was arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Mr. Hu was held in the Dongxihu Detention Center in Wuhan City until May 23, 2005, when he was secretly sentenced to three years in prison. Another practitioner, Guo Kai, was sentenced to eight years in prison, but was permitted to serve his sentence at home. He was ordered to report weekly to the "610 Office."

10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Brothers Mr. Xie Qilin and Mr. Xie Haifeng Arrested

On June 19, 2005, a special agent from the Chengdu National Security Bureau and Wen Yongjun, the director of the Kaijie Biology Company in Sichuan, arrested two employees of the company, Mr. Xie Qilin (36 years old) and Mr. Xie Haifeng (26 years old). They ransacked the brothers' home and confiscated their Dafa books, a computer, CDs and other truth-clarifying materials. Now Mr. Xie Qilin is being held in the Huayang Detention Center while Mr. Xie Haifeng is in the Chengdu City Detention Center. The police won't allow their family to visit them.

11. [Guang'an, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested and Sent to a Brainwashing Center

Recently, the second session of a brainwashing center was set up in Huaying City, the Guang'an Area. The police secretly arrested practitioners everywhere. On June 13, 2005, practitioners Tan Debi and Zhang Lin from Sanxi Town, Wusheng County were arrested. The same day Duan Hua and Zheng Lingfeng, teachers from the Wu Middle School in Wusheng County, were arrested.

At around 9:00 a.m. on June 23, 2005, Li Zhuo director of the Xinglong Police Station led six officers and arrested practitioner Li Hongcheng from Yuji Town, Taihe District.

13. [Anren County, Hunan Province] The "610 Office" Sentenced Ms. Wang Zhifang to One and a Half Years of Forced Labor

Ms. Wang Zhifang from Lianshi Village, Zhushan Township is a good person who believes in "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance." In March 2005, Chen Yunqing, chief of Political & Security Section, the Anren County Police Department, along with Duan, the director of the local "610 Office," who has been persecuting Dafa practitioners since 1999, sentenced Ms. Wang Zhifang to one and a half years of forced labor. They demanded that Ms. Wang hand them 20,000 Yuan. Otherwise they would send her to a forced labor camp. Later, they found out Ms. Wang's family was very poor, so they lowered the amount to 12,000 Yuan. They said that if Ms. Wang didn't hand in the money they would send her to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

14. [Hulunbei'er, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Mao Chunlan Arrested

On the afternoon of June 18, 2005, 60-year-old practitioner Ms. Mao Chunlan from the Dayan Mine District chatted with other senior citizens while grocery shopping. She told them her stubborn illness that couldn't be cured over the years disappeared after she started to practice "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance." A few minutes later two plainclothes policemen arrested her and sent her to the Haiyan Police Department where she is now being detained.

On June 20, 2005, personnel from the Zhangjialou Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Sun Xiulan from Pangjiataihou Village, Zhangjialou Town. The police didn't show any warrant and ransacked Ms. Sun's home. They confiscated some Dafa books and a VCD. They even attempted to take the TV away, but onlookers stopped them. Ms. Sun is now being held at the Zhangjialou Police Station.

16. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] The "610 Office" Arrests Mr. Gao Yunxiang

Mr. Gao Yunxiang, 37 years old, is a resident of Fangzheng County. Mr. Gao was living with his 14 or 15-year-old daughter after a divorce. He started practicing Falun Gong at the No. 855 Farm and is doing some manual labor at the farm. On March 10, 2004 the police arrested him while he was on his way home after picking up some dried tree branches. No one has heard from him since then and his whereabouts are unknown. The "610 Office" sent the teenaged girl to her mother.

17. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] The "610 Office" Arrests Several Practitioners

Between June 4 and 10, 2005, the Hefei City police arrested more than ten practitioners including Mei Ting, Xu Xiaoqing, Zhang Yulian, Wang Jian, Ji Guangkui, Ji Guangxiong, Luo Yulin, Zhang Lanping and others. They have been sent to a brainwashing center located in the Anhui Province Police College.

18. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] The Police Arrested Mr. Fu Tianxiang from Dongzhi Township While He was Clarifying the Truth to People

One day in mid-March 2005, the police arrested practitioner Mr. Fu Tianxiang from Dongzhi Township while he was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to people in Heshui County. His circumstances have been unknown ever since.

Practitioner Qian Runhai from Linjin Village, Tianyuan County, Qingyang City was arrested.

Ms. Wang Caicui from Dongzhi Township, Qingyang City was arrested only because she watched a truth-clarifying disc at home. It is said that, for doing so, she was sentenced to four years of in prison.

The police ransacked the home of Kou Ping from the Qingyang City Telecommunication Bureau only because he browsed the Internet. His wife was sentenced to one year in prison. He was sentenced to one and a-half years but has not been released yet.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. 1. Ms. Huang Dengfang, a Falun Gong Practitioner in Jiang'an, Sichuan Province is Tortured to Death

Ms. Huang Dengfang was tortured to death at the age of 65. She was a resident of Qingyou Street, Dongcheng, Jiang'an County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. Ms. Huang started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. After receiving a tip from a witness in July 2002, the local police unlawfully arrested Ms. Huang while she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and China's persecution of Falun Gong to the local people. The police took her to Jiang'an Detention Center, where she was repeatedly subjected to cruel torture for two months. When she was barely conscious and in mortal danger, she was released in September 2002. She died three days later.

2. Partial List of Crimes Committed by Mr. Zhang Chunsheng, a Warden at Daqing Prison

Mr. Zhang Chunsheng is a warden at the Daqing Prison in Daqing, Heilongjiang Province. Zhang often orders prison inmates to torture the illegally incarcerated Falun Gong practitioners in the prison. In June 2004, Zhang tried to force a Falun Gong practitioner named Zhao Yu'an to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong in writing. When Zhao refused to give in, Zhang ordered the prison inmates to repeatedly beat him until he passed out, went into a shock, and lost his blood pressure. He barely survived despite the hospital's emergency resuscitation. He could not eat for seven days. In May 2004, Zhang Chunsheng locked another Falun Gong practitioner named Jin Sheng in a small solitary cell and kept him in a metal chair for days. This is known as the iron chair torture. Zhang also deprived Jin Sheng of sleep. He ordered prison inmates to watch him and to kick him anytime Jin closed his eyes. Zhang Chunsheng repeatedly confiscated the Falun Gong practitioners' pens and notepads. He forbids Falun Gong practitioners from talking to each other. Anytime he found Falun Gong practitioners talking to one another, he either cursed or insulted the prison inmates responsible for watching those practitioners and deducted points from the prison inmate, which reduces their chances of getting an early parole. This is an attempt to isolate each Falun Gong practitioner and to break their wills. Zhang Chunsheng even ordered the prison inmates to stay within one meter of distance from each Falun Gong practitioner at all times. Four prison inmates rotate watching each Falun Gong practitioner around the clock. Because of this isolation policy, prison inmates are watching Falun Gong practitioners even during the lunch break.
