Being Clearheaded When People Denounce the Persecution -- Comments about Defector in Canada

(Clearwisdom.net) There have recently been several Chinese officials who have defected from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and denounced its persecution of Falun Gong. The Australian Government has already issued a permanent protection visa to the first to defect, Chen Yonglin.

Han Guangsheng is the former chief of the Liaoning Province Shenyang City Judicial Bureau. Han was also responsible for overseeing four labor camps and two prisons, which held over 500 Falun Gong practitioners. Canada's immigration department found records on the Clearwisdom website of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners at the labor camps during the time when Han oversaw them. Han was therefore seen as a persecutor of Falun Gong under the CCP. Because of his job, Han was considered to be responsible for these crimes against humanity. It was because of this that Han was denied refugee status in Canada. Han claimed to help lessen the suffering of Falun Gong practitioners who were detained in labor camps under his supervision. Han told reporters he fired a security officer who did not stop the beating of a 15-year-old girl in one of his camps. His helping of Falun Gong practitioners disturbed higher-level CCP officials, and Han was in danger of being considered a "radical" by the CCP.

Practitioners have various thoughts towards whether it was right or wrong to deny Han refugee status. First of all, we need to recognize the fact that the immigration department in Canada made this decision based on facts and common judgment; it's just that the reasoning may be somewhat limited.

Whatever people do, they will receive due retribution. However, when people like Han step forward with courage to expose the persecution by the CCP against Falun Gong practitioners, we choose to help them gain refugee status in free countries because this is helping these people break from an intentional or non-intentional life of aiding the CCP in committing crimes against Dafa through their work. In this way, they are able to lead a new life. It is giving them the chance to stand on the side of justice and make up for their crimes. In an interview, Han said, "I hope that friends and coworkers in China will think about their words and actions, will not continue to stray further away with the CCP, and especially avoid being buried along with the CCP." This is very encouraging to others in a similar situation to also stand on the side of justice, and will aid in shocking and disintegrating the CCP.

As Dafa practitioners, we have a deeper principle to consider: our ultimate goal is to save people. When people are seeking to escape from the evil's control, we should be compassionate so as to save them. This is why we hope to help people like Han Guangsheng with immigration protection. We hope that authorities in Western democratic countries will reconsider their case, giving these people with tainted history another chance, instead of pushing them back to the hands of the evil or letting them fall and be eventually devoured by the evil forces.

It is important to note that our actions are for saving sentient beings. As long as the Fa-rectification has not ended, the door will remain open. Dafa's compassion is not limited only to those who recognize the truth early on. Dafa's immense compassion also includes those that have sinned against Dafa, but are able to realize their mistakes and atone for their crimes. Dafa practitioners use Truth-Compassion-Tolerance as the standard for judging good and bad, and we should emphasize the facts, and objectively look at these matters. We cannot fall into an ordinary person's way of thinking, praising these individuals without a complete understanding of the situation, or painting them as guiltless heroes with a high realm of enlightenment--this would be straying from Truth-Compassion-Tolerance.

When we are clear on these Fa principles, with our hearts pure and actions upright, in the process of clarifying the truth, we will naturally achieve good results. This does not come from pursuit, or from the methods of ordinary people, but is achieved as we meet the requirements as Dafa disciples in the Fa-rectification's process.
