(Clearwisdom.net) On July 10, 2005 the fourth Caribbean Multicultural Festival was held on South Street, sponsored by the Philadelphia Multi-Cultural Carnival Association (PMCCA). This is the third time that Falun Gong was invited to the festival.
The Falun Gong practitioners' performance brought a fresh perspective to the cultural festival. The spectators cheered at the peaceful Falun Gong exercise demonstration, the beautiful celestial maiden dance and youth lion dance.
Thousands of truth-clarification flyers were distributed to spectators. "Almost everyone we met took a flyer," said one practitioner.
After watching the Falun Gong performance on the stage, one older woman wanted an introductory flyer, but all the flyers had been handed out. The woman said, "I like this exercise and the principle of 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance' very much. I want to take a flyer to a friend who has an alcoholism problem. I believe this will help him."
The practitioners were moved by her words. A practitioner saw a sample flyer stuck on the package in which the flyers had been transported, so a few practitioners carefully peeled it off and made it as smooth as possible before handing it to the woman. The woman was moved too. She thanked the practitioners and gratefully took the valuable flyer.
The festival host thanked Falun Gong for their performance, "Falun Gong is so great! Let's thank Falun Gong again for their excellent performance!"
