Rescuing Fellow Practitioners Who Have Gone Astray

(Clearwisdom.net) My wife and I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. Since then, our venerable Teacher has changed the course of our lives. Many of our fellow practitioners used to come to our home to study the Fa together. Eventually our home was too small to accommodate the growing number of people who came. I removed our bed so more people could sit. Every morning, we brought a sound system to the practice site so we could practice the Falun Gong exercises together. At night, we studied the Fa together at my home. As a Falun Dafa practitioner, I felt that Dafa had brought us so much enjoyment and peace every day. We were looking forward to a promising future.

On July 20, 1999, the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its global persecution of Falun Gong. Many practitioners were illegally arrested and tortured and sentenced to imprisonment in forced labor camps or prisons. Some practitioners were frightened. They hid at home and were afraid to step forward. Some practitioners stopped practicing Dafa diligently and their old illnesses came back. Some practitioners even "enlightened" along evil paths. My wife and I firmly believed in Teacher. We tried our best to do the three things - study the Fa and practice the exercises, send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth. Whenever we learned that a practitioner had been illegally detained, we tried our best to deliver Teacher's articles and important news to him or her. We also visited those practitioners who were deceived at forced labor camps and had given up practicing Dafa. We brought them Teacher's articles and helped them return to their path of cultivation. For those practitioners who weren't ready to step forward because of their attachment to fear, we shared our understandings with them and studied the Fa with them until they improved and got rid of their attachment of fear.

My wife and I always thought about those practitioners who used to study the Fa at our home but who went astray since the persecution started. Our compassionate Teacher knew our wishes and eventually helped us find those practitioners. The Buddha Fa is really magnificent!

I remember a morning two years ago. Our phone rang. When I picked it up, I heard a woman's voice saying, "Hurry up and come save me!" Then the call was disconnected. I knew immediately that it must be one of the practitioners we were looking for, but she hadn't told us her name or where she lived. Where was she? I went out to talk with some other practitioners about what had happened. Thanks to the wisdom the Fa had given us, we finally figured out who the practitioner was.

Right away some practitioners and I went to her home, we found that she was under a lot of pressure from officers from the local police substation and her family members who wouldn't allow her to continue to practice Dafa. She had made the call to me as she was about to collapse with anxiety. I told her, "Your main consciousness must be clear. Teacher is with us and the Fa is with us. As long as you make up your mind, Teacher will help you." Then we clarified the truth to her family until her family came to realize that Falun Dafa is great, that it not only helps people to regain their health, but it allows people to improve their moral standards. They came to understand what a rare opportunity it is to be able to practice Dafa, and that freedom of belief is one of our constitutional rights. The CCP actually violated our human rights by forbidding people to practice Dafa. After learning the truth, her family no longer stopped her from practicing Dafa. Later, she went abroad to visit her sister. Her sister used to have misunderstandings about Dafa. She clarified the truth to her sister's family and they also started to support her practice. She found a practice site in her sister's area. She exposed the persecution that she suffered and got to know many other practitioners living overseas.

We found another practitioner who went astray because of the persecution. She planned to visit her family abroad. The head of their local 610 Office asked her to write the so-called three statements to promise she would give up practicing Dafa. If she refused, they wouldn't allow her to go abroad. She wrote the statements, but they still wouldn't let her go. She realized that she had been deceived. The persecutors kept her under close surveillance. Later, her old illnesses recurred. Her income wasn't enough to cover her medical expenses. She started to think about practicing Dafa again, but she was worried that Teacher would no longer take her as a disciple. She was also worried about facing other practitioners' attitudes. In short, she had many concerns. I patiently addressed all of her worries from the standpoint of the Fa. I told her that cultivation is not easy, it is very serious, and that we need to keep studying the Fa because, "The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts." ("Drive Out Interference" from Essentials for Further Advancement II) I gave Teacher's recent articles and truth-clarification materials to her. She decided to resume her practice of Dafa. She also asked all her family members to quit the evil CCP and its affiliated organizations. I helped her family publish their statements renouncing the CCP.

Our compassionate Teacher is not willing to leave any disciple behind. Teacher cares about each and every practitioner. Let's all care for and help those fellow practitioners who have gone astray during the persecution. Let's fulfill our missions and promises that we made in prehistory. Let's form one indestructible body!
