I heard that security officers at a factory arrested two local Falun Dafa practitioners who worked there, and the practitioners were taken to a brainwashing center. I shared my understanding about our local problems with my mother, and she asked me to share them in writing:
We have not pinpointed the root of our problem
Each time the evil persecutes practitioners, we recognize that it is the evil taking advantage of our loopholes. Yet, why can't we identify what these loopholes are? What have we not done well? Some practitioners also think that the evil is watching us during the night, always looking for an opportunity to persecute us. In reality, it is not true! Why have we not cultivated away our omissions when we clearly know that evil is looking to find and use those omissions?
Passiveness or Using Our Hearts
We only become diligent when the evil persecutes us. When the persecutors do nothing in particular, we are complacent most of the time. Someone said, "I have been very diligent! We practice the exercises, study the Fa and clarify the truth every day." However, do we really conscientiously use our hearts? Do our minds absorb every word? Are we just reciting, or are we studying the Fa? Have we let go of everything while studying the Fa? What kind of thoughts do we have when clarifying the truth? Why does the evil continuously persecute us? Don't we know how our Teacher feels when he watches us in the midst of tribulations? If we do not strive forward vigorously, we cannot take Teacher's profound mercy for granted!
Studying the Fa is not just reading an article. Firmly studying the Fa does not mean just spending a great deal of time reading without cultivating our hearts. To clarify the truth is not just chatting because we would like to establish our own personal mighty virtue for consummation. Clarifying the truth is related to the life and death of sentient beings!
Complacency
Some practitioners may think everything is fine when the evil is dormant for a short time and forget all their painful experiences. They think they are doing quite well, but they really fall short! Complacency is the reason why practitioners slack off, and the evil will make use of this loophole.
Not Believing Whole-heartedly
We should unconditionally believe in the Fa. In "Touring North America to Teach the Fa," Teacher said,
"If your righteous thoughts are truly strong, if you're able to put aside the thought of life and death, and if you're solid and unshakable like diamond, then those evil beings won't dare to touch you..."
In "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference," Teacher said,
"When it comes to those who genuinely do well, they truly don't dare to touch them."
Once, when I posted a few words about Falun Dafa on a wall, I was reported. Two carloads of police officers came to arrest me but they left grimly after I talked to them. My heart was not moved at all, and I was not worried about them. When the police said, "We will shoot you if you continue to practice," I was not afraid at all and immediately answered, "You think I should be afraid, but I am not!" The result was they just left.

Actually, when we can truly and wholeheartedly listen to Teacher's words and unconditionally believe in Teacher, the evil absolutely cannot move us.
Not Cultivating Speech
Not cultivating speech is one of our significant problems. For a long time, some practitioners considered it an honor to know who made truth clarifying materials, and they talked about it everywhere. This caused our comprehensive materials production center to dissolve shortly after it flourished. More seriously, they told others where they had picked up materials without being careful who they were talking to. They validated themselves more than they validated Falun Dafa.
