Wisconsin: Falun Dafa Wins Championship Title in Traditional Parade Three Years in a Row (Photos)

Falun Gong contingent brings harmony and joy to the people in Wisconsin

(Clearwisdom.net) Milwaukee's traditional South Shore Water Frolics Parade took place on July 16, 2005. Falun Gong practitioners also took part in the parade and won first prize. This was the third consecutive time that Falun Gong practitioners have won the championship title since 2003, when they first participated in this parade. They were well received by the local people.

The temperature that day was nearly 90^o F, but that did not dampen practitioners' enthusiasm for participating in the parade. Practitioners formed a group of flags and drummers. In the hot weather, practitioners wore long-sleeved Tang Dynasty costumes, and each carried a large, 10-pound Tang Drum. They walked along Kinnickinnic Street for 20 blocks to the lakefront. Among those playing the drums, the oldest were in their 70s and the youngest were in their 20s. Everyone was in high spirits and waved their drumsticks. Their vigorous drumming brought the blessings of Falun Dafa to the local citizens.

The Falun Gong practitioners' traditional parade entry is a float with practitioners meditating. After enjoying the enthusiastic drummers and elegant dancers, the spectators focused their attention on the practitioners on the float, who were peacefully doing the exercises. The spectators, many familiar with Falun Gong, all waved warmly to the float to greet practitioners, and many people applauded to show their welcome and appreciation.
