By a French Falun Gong practitioner
(Clearwisdom.net) On July 23 and 24, 2005, a group of French Falun Gong practitioners went to the Chinese Consulate in Marseilles to hold a peaceful petition and candlelight vigil. They commemorated the six years of illegal persecution against Falun Gong in China, and the more than 2,600 Falun Gong practitioners who lost their lives in the persecution.
Banners were hung up, reading, "Stop the torture" and "Falun Gong, Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." They attracted the attention of the passers-by and motorists. Many people stopped their cars to find out more and ask for leaflets.
People coming forward to ask for information The candlelight vigil, which lasted through the night in memory of the Falun Gong practitioners who were tortured to death, gave voice to the injustices and called for all human beings to become aware of the situation in China. Practitioners asked for their righteous support during that special summer night. The practitioners peacefully protested and appealed to the Chinese Government and asked for the return of freedom for the innocent Falun Gong practitioners in China and an immediate end to the persecution.
