(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

On June 10, 2005, Shang Chonggui, 54 years old, former head of the Public Security Section in the Fifth Petroleum Factory of Xinji City, Hebei Province died of a sudden heart attack. Before his death, he was vice director of the factory office of the Fifth Petroleum Factory. It is said that he was still doing morning exercises at 6 a.m. that day and after only half an hour, he suddenly took ill and died at about 7 o'clock. He died within less than an hour. Emergency procedures at a hospital were unable to revive him.

While he was head of the Public Security Section, Shang Chonggui closely followed Jiang's regime to persecute compassionate Falun Gong practitioners. Under his direct commands, many practitioners were illegally detained, cruelly beaten, and even sentenced to prison. He illegally intercepted Falun Gong practitioners seeking justice and searched their houses, forcing them to leave their homes. All Falun Gong practitioners in that situation suffered from different degrees of threats.

Fan Xiaocheng, a policeman of the Beixing Police Station in Fulaerji district of Qiqihar City, had monitored and persecuted Falun Gong practitioners for long periods of time, willingly serving as an accomplice of Jiang Zemin's evil criminal regime. Because of his participation in the persecution, at least 5 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested and sent to forced labor camps. The Fulaerji branch of the Police Department "rewarded" him with a motorcycle for his "excellent performance" in the persecution of Falun Gong. In October 2004, after riding the motorcycle for only a couple of weeks, Fan Xiaocheng fractured of one of his legs in a collision. Since then, he has walked with a cane, unable to do more evil. Since the persecution started on July 20, 1999, the Bureau of Communications of Zhoukou City, Henan Province has reported to the police and monitored practitioners in their workplace, restricted their freedom of speech, forced them to write a guarantee statement, demoted them and suspended their salaries. When practitioners clarified the truth to the officials in various ways, trying to persuade them to stop their evildoings to allow the practitioners to return to work, the officials reported them to the local 610 Office in revenge and tried to expel them from their work. Once, when a practitioner went to clarify the truth to the head office of the bureau, the head ferociously shouted, "Don't bug me. You should talk to Li Keqiang (the former secretary of the provincial party committee) and Dong Guangfeng (the former secretary of the municipal party committee). I've reported you all to the local 610 Office. You should be put to death for your deeds."

They have continued to receive karmic retribution for their evildoings. Wang Guoshun, the secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, broke his sternum in a traffic accident in 2004. The vice head, Zhao Heping, died from a sudden heart attack right after the Chinese New Year of 2005. The vice head Wang Liuxi also died of a sudden heart attack in March this year.
