(Clearwisdom.net) In June 2005, everyone in a particular Jilin Province village was busy working in the fields when the village's 610 Office representatives showed up. They approached an elderly Falun Dafa practitioner and told him, "Let's go to your house to discuss something." The elderly practitioner replied, "If there is anything important I should be aware of, let us discuss it here." The 610 staff did not take no for an answer and suggested that they either hold the discussion in their car or at his house. The practitioner was not fooled. He responded, "I don't see anything wrong with discussing the matter here, unless it is something you are afraid of the public finding out about." One of the 610 officials sneered, "He is afraid of getting into our car." The practitioner remained calm and replied, "You think that I'm afraid of getting into your car? I'm a good person and did not commit any crime. Why should I be afraid? It is you who is afraid! If you are not, why can't we discuss the matter here?" Seeing the righteous thoughts and actions of the practitioner, the 610 officials were speechless. Before leaving, they said, "It really wasn't that important. We just came to see how you are doing. If the district's 610 staff comes, you should tell them that you are no longer practicing Falun Dafa. However, when they are not around, you can continue to maintain your belief and practice."

A few days later, a group of the district's 610 officials came to look for the elderly practitioner. He was again working in the field. With righteous thoughts, the practitioner questioned the 610 officials, "Why can't I practice Falun Dafa? Isn't it good for my health and well-being? Is it wrong to be a good person? Can't I practice at home?" The 610 officials were speechless. After a while, they said jokingly, "We just came to visit you and see how you are doing. However, if the city's 610 officials come, you should tell them that you are no longer practicing Falun Dafa. Only after they've left should you continue your practice." The practitioner replied calmly, "I cultivate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I should speak the truth at all times and I will practice Falun Dafa to the end."

After the district's 610 officials left, the other villagers working in the field advised him to go into hiding. They thought that he should avoid being arrested by the city's 610 officials. Again, the practitioner was not moved by the well-meaning advice. His righteous thoughts were strong. He was certain that as long as a practitioner believes with all his heart in Master Li and Falun Dafa, then it would be exactly as Master had said,

"Be solid and firm like diamond, or granite, and then nothing can affect you--evil will be afraid at the mere sight of you" ("Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference")

Holding very strong righteous thoughts, he completely negated all of the old forces' arrangements and said, "Although I'm not well educated, I know that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good and there is nothing wrong with wanting to be a good person. I did not commit any crime and I should not be arrested and detained. I will not go into hiding because I'm cultivating Falun Dafa. There is nothing to be afraid of! If they come, I will clarify the truth to them."

Just as expected, the city's 610 officials came. They told the practitioner that they wanted a word with him. The practitioner faced them calmly and said, "What is there to discuss?" Then, the 610 officials said, "We want you to renounce Falun Dafa." The practitioner held no fear and questioned them, "Have you ever read Zhuan Falun? If you haven't read it, I don't think that there is anything to discuss." Seeing this, the 610 officials said, "Ok, we will find people who have read Zhuan Falun. They will come and talk to you."

A few days later, the city's 610 officials brought some practitioners who had gone astray and turned against Dafa. Holding very strong righteous thoughts, he asked, "Do you think Zhuan Falun is good?" and those collaborators replied, "Yes, definitely yes!" The practitioner continued, "Do you think Falun Dafa is good?" and again all of them replied, "Yes!" The practitioner then asked, "Is Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance good as well?" All of them replied, "Yes!" in unison. After hearing this, the elderly practitioner told the 610 officials, "Look, you have heard them yourselves. Now I finally understand that it was you people (610 officials) who forced them to commit evil deeds. You have to remember that Falun Dafa is good and you should not continue to commit such bad deeds. Most importantly, do not slander Falun Dafa. Today, I follow the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in order to be a good person, and nobody in this world can 'transform' me to go down an evil path. Also, nobody can prevent me from wanting to be a good person."

Because of the strong righteous thoughts of this practitioner, the city's 610 officials finally gave up and said, "We don't have any other concerns. All right, you can continue to practice Falun Dafa." After that, they returned to the city.
