(Clearwisdom.net) From August 1 to August 12, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners held a two-week-long "Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa" photo exhibition. To clarify the truth in depth, they also held a seminar entitled, "The Brutal Tortures the Chinese Communist Party Applies on Falun Dafa Practitioners."

The "Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa" exhibition consisted of six sections including "Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa," "Falun Dafa Practitioners Being Forced to do Slave Labor in Manufacturing Export Products," "Falun Dafa in South Africa," "Communist Party Extends Persecution to South Africa," "How the Chinese Communist Party Tortures Falun Dafa Practitioners," and "Global Coalition to Bring Jiang Zemin and his Accomplices to Justice."

"Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa" Picture Exhibition in Durban University Library

After viewing the photo exhibition, many students said that they learned for the first time that China has committed such severe human rights violations under the cover of a prosperous economy. They couldn't understand how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) could torture such a group of people who simply persist in practicing "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Some students were in tears when they talked about the persecution of Falun Dafa. Some students weren't able to attend the truth-clarification seminar but they visited the photo exhibition and learned about the persecution in China. Some asked when the next seminar would be. The staff members in the library spoke very highly of the exhibition and look forward to seeing our "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" art show next year.

Earlier this year, a similar seminar was held in Durban University. This seminar clarified the truth in more depth about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and Falun Gong's peaceful anti-persecution endeavors. After playing the video, "The Real Story of Falun Gong," one Durban University student from China, who is also a Falun Gong practitioner, talked about her own experiences of being jailed in a forced labor camp for one and a half years. She also talked about her new life in South Africa. Another Western practitioner introduced the wide spread of Falun Dafa all over the world, how the CCP persecutes Falun Gong and its cruel torture methods, as well as Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful appeals both in China and overseas in face of this inhuman persecution.

The audience was shocked to hear of the CCP's cruel tortures. Some students thanked the Falun Gong practitioners for hosting this very meaningful seminar and wanted to try the Falun Gong exercises.

There are several Chinese students at Durban University. Due to the poison from the CCP propaganda, most of them don't know the truth about the persecution and many refuse to listen to the truth even while living in a free country. Through the photo exhibition, these students had the chance to learn the truth of the persecution, and their mindsets are changing. Two Chinese students attended the seminar. After the seminar, one student who used to have some doubts about the Tiananmen self-immolation incident said that the Falun Gong practitioners' truth clarification was helpful and was awakening more and more people.

The new semester started on August 1 at Durban University. Students can see the now-familiar Falun Gong practitioners once again doing the exercises in Jubilee Garden.
