Townsville Bulletin/Townsville Sun (Australia): Exhibition Chinese [Communist Party] Wanted Banned

August 31, 2005 Wednesday

The art exhibition Chinese Communist officials have been pressuring America and Korean venues not to show has come to the twin cities.

Uncompromising Courage, is an exhibition of original works created by a group of accomplished artists from around the globe.

Kunlun Zlang, a professor of art, was released from a Chinese forced labour camp in 2001 after three months of psychiatric and physical torture.

Shortly after he collaborated with more than a dozen artists from around the world who practise Falun Gong, to create the works in the exhibit.

Participants in the exhibit say that their goal is to expose what is happening in China, inform the public and bring about change.

Uncompromising Courage is a tribute to the triumphant spirit of compassion and forbearance that Falun Gong practitioners have demonstrated in the midst of pain and anguish.

Falun Gong is an ancient Chinese meditation and exercise practice consisting of five simple exercises and three basic principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance.

Some twin cities residents practise Falun Gong at Soroptomist Park each Sunday afternoon.

The Uncompromising Courage art exhibition is entirely original and exciting in its intellectual and spiritual depth.

All Falun Gong activities are free of charge including the art exhibition which can be visited from tomorrow until next Wednesday at Flinders Gallery, 693 Flinders Street, with an official launch evening tomorrow night at 6.30pm. Further information about the exhibition and related topics can be obtained from the website, www.falundafaartexhibit.net.
