Solemn Declarations by Awakened Sentient Beings

I am a college student. Both of my parents are Falun Gong practitioners. One time when I was watching TV, suddenly all channels were interrupted and started broadcasting "extreme and bad behavior by Falun Gong followers." I was terrified at that time. Blindly believing that all Falun Gong practitioners would become what had been described in the program, I was truly scared. One day before my mid-term exam, with fear and hatred towards Falun Gong, I tore up Zhuan Falun. Out of the same fear and selfishness, I also wrote a long letter to my parents, trying to persuade them not to believe in Falun Gong. Although they were very upset, my parents did not scold me or beat me. Instead, they patiently explained to me the truth about Falun Gong and how it teaches people to be kind. Being very young, I thought that everything the TV and media said was true and factual. Therefore, I stubbornly insisted that I was right. After many years and as I grew up, I gradually came to realize that there were too many lies on the TV and news media. I knew that I was wrong. I should not have believed the one-sided story and developed a misunderstanding toward Dafa, much less even do things that damaged Dafa. I hereby solemnly declare that I regret all the mistakes I have made. In the future, I will tell right from wrong and good from evil, and I will be a kind person who follows the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

I once had a misunderstanding about Dafa due to the influence of the TV and news media. Around 2002, my school required students to watch films slandering Dafa and each student had to write an essay slandering Dafa. Fearing that my teacher would criticize me, I wrote the essay. At that time I did that simply to avoid criticism. However, I have since felt very guilty for what I did, because I now know the truth about Falun Gong and that all practitioners are good people. They do not talk back when insulted and they never lie or do bad deeds. If many people practiced Falun Gong, wouldn't our nation and society become better? Here I declare that everything I said or wrote which slandered Dafa is invalid. I will never do such things again. I believe that Falun Dafa is good. I also want to tell everyone that Falun Dafa is good.
