(Clearwisdom.net) On August 26, 2005, Texas State Senator Judith Zaffirini wrote a letter to the Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice to express her serious concern regarding the Chinese government's persecution of practitioners of Falun Gong, in light of Hu Jintao's forthcoming visit to the United States.

Dear Secretary Rice:

In light of President Hu Jintao's forthcoming visit to the United States, this is to express my serious concern regarding the Chinese government's persecution of practitioners of Falun Gong.

Since 1997 the Chinese government has subjected Falun Gong practitioners to physical and psychological torture, imprisonment without trial, and even murder. Just as the practitioners of Falun Gong nonviolently have resisted their persecution, the U.S. government should use all diplomatic means to stop the Chinese government's repression of Falun Gong.
