Some Thoughts About New Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) In our area, some new practitioners who recently learned Falun Dafa subsequently gave up their practice. Some of them gave up because they did not see a big improvement in their illnesses, some gave up because they did not understand the Fa, and some even stated, "Falun Gong practitioners are reactionary because they oppose the Communist Party." Their actions and statements cast a negative light on Dafa and had a negative effect on saving sentient beings.
When our veteran practitioners clarified the truth and saw others with illnesses, they persuaded them to practice Falun Gong so that they would regain their health, especially those with serious illnesses that no medication could cure. In order to ease their suffering, some came to Dafa for the sole purpose of curing their illnesses, while others admired healthy practitioners and came only for the general health benefits.
It is through our practitioners' kindness that these new practitioners are able to obtain Dafa. Practitioners understand that being a human being able to cultivate is precious and that practicing Dafa is the ultimate guarantee for a long, healthy life.
The problems brought on by these new practitioners made us think. We had group study and tried to understand all these issues from the standpoint of the Fa. We learned from each other by exchanging views.
First, it is most important for new practitioners to study the Fa. Veteran practitioners should emphasize the importance of Fa study, and they should help the new practitioners to understand the Fa. Only through studying the Fa well will new practitioners evolve into true cultivators and not merely practice for the purpose of gaining fitness and good health.
Second, Master clearly stated that extremely sick patients are not allowed to come to the classes. Master stated in "Falun Dafa-Lecture in Sydney:" "In the past, we have always forbidden the mentally ill and critically ill patients to enter the classes. That is to say, no matter how you ask such a critically ill patient to give up that attachment, he still will not be able to give it up. His life is almost over. Can he not think about his illness? He cannot fall asleep at night since all he thinks of is the illness. Thus, no matter how you ask him to give it up, he still cannot give it up. Sometimes, he says that he will give it up, but in his mind he still thinks about it very vigorously. Therefore, there is nothing we can do. Why can't we do anything? Because teaching the orthodox Fa to save people has its requirements, very strict requirements, otherwise we would be teaching an evil Fa." During the Fa-rectification, practitioners must do the three things well. For new practitioners, depending on their understanding of the Fa and their mindsets, you may suggest to them that they study the Fa at home. There is a process to understanding the Fa and cultivation, and veteran practitioners can find other times to communicate with new practitioners and help them.
Also, it is my understanding that Master is not painstakingly pushing the next group of practitioners to obtain and practice Dafa at this time. It is because of the old universe's wishes that restrains the law. Negative factors coming from new practitioners will make it more difficult for our Fa-rectification. This is the end of the Fa-rectification period, the residual evil forces are weakening, and they realize that their days are numbered, but they still want to destroy Dafa practitioners. If the new practitioners do not understand the Fa fully, won't the evil forces make more tribulations for them?
I think that for those who only want to obtain fitness and health through practice, let them sincerely recite in their hearts "Falun Dafa is good." If they can do that consistently, they will feel the supernatural wonder of Dafa. For those who truly want to cultivate for the wonders of Dafa, we should take the responsibility to help and guide them well.
Master said, "We have stressed from time to time that we do not admit patients with serious illnesses." (Zhuan Falun) In order to accomplish our mission of helping Master in the Fa-rectification, let us work hard.
