Improving "Xinxing" While Writing Articles for Falun Dafa Websites By a practitioner from Taiwan
(Clearwisdom.net) With encouragement from fellow practitioners, I started
to write some articles for Falun Dafa websites. Of course, I knew that articles
on Dafa websites were very useful for the practitioners' improvement and for
people in general to understand the facts about Falun Dafa. Before I started to write the articles, I read Teacher's article
"Mature." Teacher said, "Under the intense, sinister pressure that was forced upon them; on a
cultivation path with nothing to reference; living in a most materialistic and
practical society of man; with human morality sliding downhill fast; and with
strict requirements for self-improvement set forth for Dafa disciples by the
Great Law, you have nonetheless made it through. The papers mostly involve
rationally analyzing and uncovering shortcomings, and they exchange thoughts
for the purpose of validating the Fa, reducing losses, helping fellow
cultivators to think and act righteously, thinking of ways to help fellow
cultivators who are being persecuted, and saving more sentient beings. Gone
are the flowery expressions meant for affective show: the papers are full of
substance, and they are accurate, clean, and free of human sentiments. They
are not something an ordinary person could write, for the inner world of a
cultivator is pure and clean." Indeed, the articles written by practitioners are for validating Dafa, not
for validating the practitioners themselves. So practitioners' articles are not
the same as articles by ordinary people. For instance, carefully written
articles by practitioners do not include words simply for show or to fan the
readers' emotions. The purpose of practitioners' articles is to validate Dafa,
to help practitioners improve together, and to share Dafa's splendor. Some
people may feel that the practitioners' experiences during cultivation are
nothing extraordinary, but they do have a huge impact. Our Teacher said: "Don't overlook any of the things that Dafa disciples do. Your every
word, every flyer, every keystroke, every telephone call, and every letter is
having a huge impact. Beings that have come to understand the facts become
mobile media, and they too clarify the facts. It's had a big impact on
society." (Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest-U.S. Fa Conference) Teacher also said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa
Conference": "You walk this path of Fa-rectification well, you manage to overcome
your limitations in cultivation, you let go of your attachments, you save all
beings with righteous thoughts in your mind, and you handle everything you
face with righteous thoughts--that is mighty virtue." Over the course of several years of validating Dafa, practitioners in China
and abroad have done their best to work together and have written many touching
cultivation stories. After I wrote the first article, I reminded myself that I must write with my
pure heart. This was because only with a righteous mind could I validate Dafa.
However, while writing the articles, I noticed human mentalities showing up. For
example, when my article was published, I found myself very happy and thought
the article I wrote must be good. As soon as I recognized this attachment, I
corrected it with righteous thoughts. Normally, these attachments are not easy
to find, but now they are popping up on their own, which is just the right time
to remove them. In fact, having attachments is not so much the problem, as they
are the result of our notions and thought karma. Instead, it is our reluctance
to genuinely want to remove attachments, once they are revealed, that is most
problematic. Actually, it's not just while writing articles that we need to improve our xinxing,
but also during Fa-study, doing the exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts
and clarifying the truth. At all times, we need to find our attachments and
remove them. Do we have the attachment of pursuit when doing things? Do we do
the three things with attachments? Are we only doing things complacently and
forgetting about improving our xinxing? Under any circumstance, there is
a potential attachment in need of removal. Teacher said in the article
"Further Understanding" from Essentials for Further Advancement: "I couldn't have explained the matter of Buddha-nature and demon-nature
to you any more clearly. The tests for you to pass are in fact meant to remove
your demon-nature. Nonetheless, from time to time you have used various excuses
or Dafa itself to hide it, and failed to improve your xinxing while
missing opportunities again and again." My fellow practitioners, please pick up your pens to write articles for our
Dafa websites. The cultivation experience of each and every practitioner is very
moving. So let us write down the stories of our validating Dafa, and let us
improve together!
