Falun Dafa Changed Me

(Clearwisdom.net) I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1998. Because I was shy, I was slow to do things and not eloquent when giving speeches in front of other people. I went to school for 7 years and never got a chance to read things in front of the class. During my work of 18 years, I did not even read newspapers in front of other people. No matter whether it was big conferences or small meetings, I always avoided giving a talk. After practicing Dafa, I became a different person. I became more open-minded, and quicker at doing things and even fast when walking. Nowadays, I do the three things every day. I clarify the truth to people to save sentient beings. Falun Dafa has changed me.

Since the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" came out, I made good use of my time to clarify the truth and ask people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. In the beginning, I was not good at it, and things did not work out well. Then, I followed Teacher's guidance to study the Fa more. Whatever I am doing, I always place Dafa in the highest priority. I take truth-clarification materials with me and clarify the truth wherever I go. After verbally clarifying the truth, I give the listener some printed material. Since that person already heard the truth, it was easier for him or her to quit the CCP. Very often when my xinxing met the standard, Teacher would arrange people with predestined relationships to come to hear the truth.

Once I clarified the truth on the street to a street vendor. I told him the bad deeds that the CCP had done, including the massacre of good people. I told him the trend of the heavenly changes. He understood it and immediately asked me to help him quit the CCP. I also went to grocery stores, barber shops, restaurants, shoe stores, and clothing stores to clarify the truth, and many of those people quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

I was moved by my mother's changes. She used to be very stubborn, and severely poisoned by the evil party's deceitful propaganda. She was not willing to listen to the truth, either from me or my fellow practitioners. She was also against my going out to clarify the truth and did not quite understand my going out to save sentient beings. She used to have poor health and often got sick. The medication cost her a lot of money but it did not help much. I did not give up, and continued to clarify the truth to her. Through the past year, my mother changed and finally came to understand the truth. She began to know that Dafa is good, and a smile is always on her face. I am very happy because I know it is the power of Dafa.

I came out to clarify the truth relatively late and I did not do extraordinary things. However, I tried to follow Teacher's guidance as much as possible. I also completely opposed the old forces' arrangements and was not severely persecuted. Whenever I hear of other practitioners in trouble, my first thought is to send forth righteous thoughts to help them. The persecution of fellow practitioners is the same as if it were happening to me, because we are one body.

In "Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Fa Conference," Teacher said,

"I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you this: while saving sentient beings, don't forget to cultivate yourselves. (Applause) You need to do all of the three things. You should always keep your thoughts righteous, and when you are confronted with evil or with certain situations, you should send forth righteous thoughts a lot; you need to clarify the truth and save sentient beings, but even more so should you cultivate yourselves well. If you don't cultivate yourselves well you won't have mighty virtue, what you say will not be in line with the Fa, and then you can't possibly save sentient beings. When what you say has no mighty virtue and no power, it will have no effect, and the evil will capitalize on that. What's more, if you don't cultivate yourselves well and your righteous thoughts are lacking, when you handle certain things you will tend to slip into human ways of thinking, and then you won't be able to have the effect of saving sentient beings."

After studying this, I became very strict with myself. First off, I keep up with Fa-study and always read a lecture of Zhuan Falun every morning. If there are other things that take my time, I get up earlier than usual to study the Fa. Whatever things I meet, I am always able to discipline myself with a Fa-rectification Period Dafa disciple's requirements. I will not disappoint Teacher's expectations. Every day, I am very busy with Fa-study, doing exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts, and clarifying the truth. Still I am able to keep things organized. After saving a sentient being, I would like to save another one. I feel that many sentient beings are waiting.

Our great, compassionate Teacher has given me everything. Falun Dafa has changed me. There is no way I can return Teacher's immense compassion. I would like to share Teacher's poem with everyone so that we can all do better.

A Will That Ebbs Not

(in Song Dynasty poetic form)

Surpassing time and space,
Fa-rectification dashes forward
Massive is the challenge,
but your will is firm
Unbridled are the wicked,
yet you keep your bearings
Purging evil as if but whisking dust away
My disciples,
walk straight the path of Dafa
May your radiance grace the human world,
as you transcend the Three Realms
Disciples of Fa,
be diligent, with a will that ebbs not
The countless years of hardship were all for this time.
