Cultivating Diligently after Obtaining the Fa in Prison, Fearing No Torture and Standing Up Against the Persecution

A Dafa practitioner obtained the Fa in 2001 while in a detention center. Before he obtained the Fa, he was a murderer and was sentenced to imprisonment for life. After obtaining the Fa, he thoroughly reformed himself, and started a completely new life. He followed the principles of Falun Dafa, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and became an exceptionally good person. He is very diligent on the path of cultivation. While he was imprisoned, he elevated together with the fellow practitioners in the prison to do well the three things.

At first the police did not realize that he had become a practitioner. Since he very often communicated with the fellow practitioners in the jail, he aroused the attention of the others. Once when there was a sudden search of the jail, Dafa materials were found in his area. The police asked him, "How come in your area we found Falun Gong articles?" He answered in a dignified and upright manner, "Because I believe in Falun Dafa, and I am a Dafa disciple."

Upon hearing this, the police sent him to a small cell and tortured him there. They reported this to their supervisor. The 610 Office regarded him as the main target for torture. They thought that since he obtained the Fa much later than the other practitioners, it would be easier to brainwash him and "transform" him to give up his practice of Dafa.

While inside the small cell, he clarified the truth to the police. The police did not listen to him. Instead, they forced him to sit on a tiger bench, and beat him severely. Those involved in torturing him included police in his district jail, guards in the detention center, guards in the small cell area, 610 Office police, and police authorities in the jail political section.

He was not intimidated in the face of the police's abuse of their power. He told the police, "I clarified the truth to you, but you refused to listen and chose to commit evil deeds. So today I will show you the miracle and beauty of Dafa."

When the police saw that he was not giving up, they were shamed into anger and beat him up more severely. They beat him up using a police belt, stick, and electric batons. Several electric batons were shining with blue light, making a continous whipping sound. The interrogation room of the small cell was full of violence and police clamoring.

Over a dozen police beat him up for over two hours. He did not cry or beg for mercy. On the contrary, he laughed fearlessly and heroically, which really scared the police. When the police saw that after they beat him up for over two hours, he was not the least bit hurt, they dared not continue to torture him.

The news of this incident has been widely spread in the jail. They all said, "Falun Gong is so great. He did not complain, but instead he laughed more when they beat him more severely."

After this torture, he started to practice Dafa openly. After some time, the police sent him back to the small cell. This time, he protested determinedly. He said, "Dafa has both dignity and compassion at the same time. I cannot allow you to torture me endlessly. I won't cooperate with you in any of your evil requests, demands or instigation. I will protest all your persecution and I will expose all your evil deeds."

When the police saw that the torture did not work on him, they said, "If you continue to practice, we won't reduce your sentence term. He said, "No one can shake my determination in cultivation. It is not wrong for me to cultivate Dafa and be a good person. I do not violate any jail regulations. You are committing an illegal act if you do not reduce my sentence term.

In this way, the evil disintegrated in front of him. The police said, "If you do not make trouble, we will leave you alone." He said, "Before, I was murderer. It is Dafa that changed me and saved me. Practitioners are the best persons in the world. How can we make trouble? The roots of the persecution lie in the mistakes made by the Chinese Communist Party." By taking a firm stance against the persecution, this practitioner who obtained the Fa in the jail created a cultivation environment for himself.
