Persecution Crimes in Fanjiatai Prison

On September 13, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xiong Jiwei was brutally beaten in Fanjiatai Prison, which is located in Shayang County, Hubei Province. Prison guards brutally kicked his chest with their leather boots. This cruel beating lasted over 20 minutes. Prison Director Xiong Zuyong (male), guard Zhang Jianguo (male), and Prison Doctor Zhang Dian (male) all witnessed the beating, plus many guards were right outside the metal bars. Not a single person tried to stop such brutality. For the next two weeks, Mr. Xiong Jiwei's body was covered with bruises, and he experienced extreme pain whenever he coughed.

After that beating incident, Warden Xiao Tianbo (male) did not discipline any guards and, in fact, encouraged prisoners to beat practitioners. There were many instances in which Xiao Tianbo, directly or indirectly, ordered prisoners to beat practitioners.

In March 2003, Mr. Xiong Jiwei was locked in solitary confinement because he refused to watch a TV program that slandered Falun Dafa. On that day, Prisoner Hu (male) was instructed to beat Mr. Xiong Jiwei. Mr. Xiong went on a hunger strike to protest, and he was inhumanly tortured with force-feeding on the third day. Guard Xiong Zuyon almost suffocated Mr. Xiong when he shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" Guard Zhang Jichuan stepped on Mr. Xiong's head and beat him cruelly. They handcuffed Mr. Xiong to the metal bars. Mr. Xiong lost half of a tooth during the beating.
