An Unforgettable Small-Scale Fa-Conference

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 22, 2005, about ten practitioners successfully held a small-scale Fa-conference in our city. We didn't make any specific preparations for the conference, nor did we publicize it among local practitioners. It was under Teacher's compassionate inspiration that we came together to hold the conference. All of the practitioners at the conference felt that our venerable Teacher was right beside us.

The practitioners attending the conference realized that our current responsibilities are to help our fellow practitioners who have ceased to cultivate in Dafa or have taken a tortuous path, to push forward the mighty wave of renouncing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its related organizations, and to seize the time to awaken sentient beings so that they can be saved. We had active discussions on these topics and the atmosphere was pure, upright and serene. We shared our understandings from different angles and our understandings complemented one another. We truly felt that we were in sync with Teacher's Fa rectification.

Practitioner A was the first one to share her cultivation experience. Since July 20, 1999, when she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa, she was detained and got out of the detention center with the power of a righteous mind several times. With righteous thoughts and righteous actions, she had done a good job in coordinating with local fellow practitioners. As a result, fellow practitioners in her area were able to steadily keep up with the progress of Fa-rectification. She shared her cultivation experience when her husband contracted esophagus cancer and was hospitalized for treatment. One of the patients who shared the same room at the hospital with her husband, an older man, was also a cancer patient. He suffered unbearable pain every day and he continuously hiccupped. She told the old man that reciting "Falun Dafa is great" could ease his pain. The man indeed followed her suggestion and found that his pain was truly alleviated and his hiccups stopped. He then yelled loudly in their hospital room, "Falun Dafa is great!"

This older man has several sons, and all of them are working in police organizations. One of them works at the Ministry of Public Security. They witnessed their father's change and were truly amazed, and so were the patients in the hospital. Practitioner A seized this opportunity to clarify the truth about the staged "self-immolation" incident, about the fact that Dafa is being spread all over the world and that Jiang Zemin and his henchmen have been sued overseas. In addition, she told them about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and the wave of people renouncing the CCP. Many of the patients in her husband's room and their families renounced the evil CCP and its related organizations. Some of them even asked for the "Nine Commentaries" and Falun Dafa truth clarification material. Upon seeing this, her husband started to learn Falun Gong. Consequently, his illness was alleviated and he left the hospital. His parents and siblings witnessed the wonder of Dafa from the change he experienced. They all renounced the CCP, the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers.

Practitioner B shared how she helped her fellow practitioners who stopped cultivating to return and become practitioners during Fa-rectification. She personally delivered Teacher's articles and truth clarification materials to a fellow practitioner several times. Due to the attachment to fear, that fellow practitioner did not dare to accept them. She then shared her understanding with her and told her sincerely, "We are disciples within the same school of cultivation. Teacher is waiting for us to return to our true home. I will not give up on you." That fellow practitioner was moved to tears by her simple yet heartfelt words. It was truly a manifestation that:

"Mercy can dissolve heaven and earth, bringing about Spring

Righteous thoughts may save people in the world." (Hong Yin II)

Ever since then, that fellow practitioner returned to help with Fa-rectification and went door to door and clarified the truth to people. After she clarified the truth to all the people in her village, she went to another village to do the same. Through her truth clarification effort, an increasing number of people renounced the CCP, the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers. Another practitioner was very moved by their experience. She said that when a fellow practitioner realizes the meaning of Fa-rectification with the help of others, he could really rectify an entire realm.

Practitioner C lives in the city and she is in her seventies. She had been quietly coordinating among practitioners and taking responsibility for the distribution of large amounts of truth clarification materials. Fellow practitioners in her region did very well. However, what one will always hear from her during the experience sharing is, "I don't do much."

Practitioner D is a retiree in his seventies. He started to practice Dafa in 1996. Before 1999, he was the local person responsible for decorating group activity sites and other things. When the persecution of Falun Gong began, he kept up with the pace of Fa-rectification. He took the initiative to deliver Teacher's articles and other materials to all of the practitioners he knew. His footprints have reached every single corner in our city, suburban areas and neighboring rural areas. He lives in the rural area north of the city. The south boundary of the city is 25 miles from where he lives, the east end is 31 miles and the west side is 25 miles from his home. For the past six years, he delivered Minghui Weekly and other materials to all practitioners in a timely manner. In addition, he set up a material production site at home. Through his effort, many fellow practitioners are very diligent in cultivation. To quote his own words, "Whatever Teacher asks us to do, it's guaranteed to be upright and I'll do it without any doubt."

Fellow practitioners discussed the subject of how to help those practitioners who ceased to cultivate or who had taken a detour, and came up with good suggestions and ideas on how to move forward with helping people quit the CCP. Some fellow practitioners said that in several of Teacher's lectures, he required from us not to leave behind a single fellow practitioner; therefore, it is very important to help those practitioners who lag behind. When we help a fellow practitioner to come back to rationality, we actually have saved countless sentient beings in his cosmic system. When this practitioner who comes back to resume cultivation in turn helps other practitioners who have not stepped forward yet, they will be able to save many more sentient beings. Group Fa-study is the cultivation form that Teacher has left for us. We should set up Fa-study groups first. For safety reasons, the number of practitioners in each study group should not be too large, and each study group should make a decision of the number of people involved based on their respective situations. When those practitioners who lag behind come to group Fa-study, they will find out about their gaps and hurry to catch up. We need to do well ourselves first, study the Fa well and cultivate ourselves well, and not miss a single opportunity to save those practitioners who lag behind. We need to encourage one another and advance together. When we are able to accomplish all of these things, the overall situation of practitioners' validating Dafa will experience a huge breakthrough.

As for the ongoing efforts for people to quit the CCP, we came to the understanding that although the number had reached five million and seemed to be astonishing, we all knew that Teacher stated clearly that before the persecution began, there were 70 million practitioners who were cultivating solidly and by July 20, 1999, 100 million people had obtained Dafa. We should not feel satisfied with the number "five million" and the responsibility of saving sentient beings we shoulder is still tremendous.

We also analyzed some of the common problems. A while ago, the number of people who quit the CCP increased relatively quickly; however, now it has slowed down. One possible reason is that we have talked to our families, relatives and acquaintances about quitting the CCP, but we had not made breakthroughs to reach a larger group of people; we had reservations when encountering people we do not know.

Some practitioners suggested that we take full advantage of our current condition to print and post large quantities of materials in order to raise awareness of the big wave of people who are quitting the CCP. For example, we should utilize the technique of silk-screen printing. This printing method is simple and easy to learn. Even elderly practitioners and those whose education level is low are able to do it. When we print materials, we may put articles related to the "Nine Commentaries" on the posters with large characters in eye-catching colors. In addition, we need to make some related banners to help all people know that the wonderful book "Nine Commentaries" is being spread in the world. We thus help to create an atmosphere wherein everyone is talking about the "Nine Commentaries," everyone is looking for the "Nine Commentaries," and everyone is reading the "Nine Commentaries" and recommending the book to others.

We discussed what we should do when facing the current state of the Chinese people. The current situation is that many people have read the "Nine Commentaries" and seen through the true nature of the evil CCP, but they are considering their own situations. Although they want to quit the CCP, they are afraid of being discovered by others. For some of these people, they may not have the opportunity to have contact with Falun Gong practitioners in order to post their statement, nor do they have access to Internet service outside of China. That being the situation, we therefore could print some selected renouncement statements and insert them inside the brochure of the "Nine Commentaries." Those who read our material may fill in their names in the statement and post the statement in a public place. For those who have written the renouncement statement but don't know where to post it, we may get their statements and their names from them and post the statements on the Internet, so as to mobilize the Chinese people to quit the CCP and its related organizations.

All of the practitioners present agreed that in order to save more sentient beings, we must study the Fa more and study the Fa well. We must have a pure mind, maintain righteous conduct and righteous thoughts, and be rational and clear minded. Only when we are in this state can we be truly effective in what we do.

Let's summarize the good experience we have had so far and fully put to use the supernormal capability Teacher and Dafa have endowed upon us. We hope what we have come to a good understanding and have come up with good methods that will be helpful to other fellow practitioners, as well.
